  • The Silver Comet Trail is a super flat 62 mile multi-use biking trail starting in Smyrna, GA! The trail continues from west Atlanta all the way to the center of Alabama! It’s called the Chief Ladiga Trail once in Alabama! It’s super long and flat for the most part, making it a go-to location for roadies and triathletes.

For real, that climb between Rockmart and Cedartown was waiting on him.

I rode it back in August and it was fun. Good scenery and friendly people.

    Brilliant video mate.
When a Japanese cyclist says something (anything) you'd be an absolute idiot not to listen.
I'm a British cyclist, usually drunk but still.preparing to do this 150km trail (there & back) in the coming weeks.
If Pike's Peak didn't kill me, this shouldn't be too taxing.
BTW, I'm completely drunk as I'm typing this.

I ride the SCT because it's so convenient and the roads here are dangerous. However, the mundane aspect you described is why I can't do long distance there. After awhile it has the treadmill effect.

      @TheJapaneseCyclist  11 месяцев назад +1

100% agreed! When I first started getting into biking, I rode there every week because I wasn't confident in my riding skills as well as safety of roads. But I got that exact treadmill effect after riding SCT every week during a summer!

Yeah this was a rail-to-trail so really good quality. It goes on forever too!
Yeahhhhh my bikes definitely have some color specs to them now haha. Used to have bright pink tires on my gravel bike too.
Pizza was very good I'll say 😂

It's flat for majority I feel like! In the grand scheme of roads in Atlanta at least haha

this trail was the reason i stopped biking years ago, listed on rails to trails as a mtb trail, i gave up, until 2016 when i saw blankets creek, and realized biking in every way and type has changed and still does, pizza looked legit!! I thought maybe the mysterious lady was the owner haha!!

    • @TheJapaneseCyclist

Yeah, understandable. This place actually has a significant amount of off-road trails apparently. I wouldnt call it full on MTB trails though. I know a few people that go do off-road rides there every other day and they ride different singletrack every time. Quite amazing what's there. You have the search for all the side trails though! I've done a couple and they can go quite a distance!
But yes, you have to ride the paved trail on fatter tires for a few miles 😉

@@TheJapaneseCyclist that's pretty cool though, I'll have to check Strava for some ideas there, I remember riding back in the day and the pumpkinvine trestle used to just stop, actual rail road tracks and the bridge ended....if you didn't stop, it would be your last ride ever😆, thanks for the info and awesome video!!

Silver comet isn't mtb lol but I'm certain locals have built some off trail action
Blankets creek was so fun, had my first mtb event there
Seems north of Atlanta is where all the pretty parks are :/ south atlanta needs more trails to balance 🦿

Yeah! Next to the Silver Comet Trail are lines of single track. If you ride somewhat slowly then you'll see tons of trails everywhere along the trail.

I haven’t tried all of them before so can’t say for certain. The parts I’ve ridden or seen on Strava look like they do!

I wanna do that trail. I’m not to far away from Huntsville,al. Is it confusing where the trail breaks apart in the small towns it goes thru?

Hey! Sorry for the late reply. It's not that confusing. Just make sure to read the signs and arrows.

Bro you have a cool channel. I too have a gravel, road and MTB bike and I ride all three evenly. Biking makes life so much more beautiful. I’m in the market for an Aethos but never have test rode one. Is it as good as they say it is on the climbs ?! I ride a Santa Cruz stigmata as my road and gravel bike and looking to supplement it or wondering if it’s worth getting an Aethos strictly for my road riding. I appreciate your feedback brother. Thank you!

Thanks so much and sorry about the late reply!
It's super good on the climbs! Nice and stiff but still comfy. Although apparently for speed specifically, the tarmac is better... Aethos is for enjoying a ride more! I personally love the Aethos!
