The sad thing about Polnareff is that he watched most of his friends die, his sister was raped and murdered, he lost his body, his Stand and he never got to build Polnareff Land. He is one of the most tragic characters in JoJo history.
@@justsomeguywholovesberserk6375 Literally creating afterimages when armor is detached, like you know how fast you need to create one, and Silver Chariot was able to create fucking 7 or 6 of em.
The saddest thing about Jotaro is that he was forced to keep himself seperated from his wife and daughter because he killed DIO since there still were alot of loyal followers of DIO. And the time when he does come to see his daughter, he gets his stand and memory stolen.
@@theCookiedOne True and was willing to sacrifice himself for it too. Good thing that in the 'new' universe everyone gets to live peacefully without the hindrance of any of DIO's remaining minions
Polnareff literally has the worst life of the Crusaders in my opinion He literally had his sister killed by Hanged Man and it might have implied that Hanged man had violated her, he was also used as a pawn/slave of DIO and after he saw Avdol and Iggy get killed in front of him, he later lost his ability to walk, being paralyzed for years only to be killed by the same monster and be stuck in the body of turtle while also losing his stand and ever since Egypt has never met any of the crusaders so his only friends were far away and unaware while he was paralyzed and lost his body
Polnareff in my opinion was really underrated and really scratched that itch that Speedwagon did before. That one buddy everyone gets along with, a person struck with so much tragedy that he respects and values friendship so much more because of it.
You forgot to mention that for most of his life and especially after his sister died Chariot was his only friend, and by the end of his life even Chariot had tried to kill him after walking away from him. Oh and there was that one girl he liked in Egypt that he never saw again
I can only imagine the tragedy of Jotaro and Joseph returning to Japan after defeating Dio. - Telling Holly that Avdol and Kakyoin gave their lives for her. - Telling Kakyoin’s parents about his tragic death. - Jotaro probably living in fear that other Stand Users will come after him and subsequently his mother. - The fate of Avdol’s chickens Prince, Lionel and Michael now that he’s not there to take care of them.
@@djwksjzj9351 probably not living in fear but he definitely spends the rest of his life with way more of a heightened sense of caution and paranoia than when we’re first introduced to him in his jail cell. just look at him in part 4 and in the beginning of part 5 where hes so paranoid about dio and potentially dios son that he sends koichi out on a mission to basically spy for him. jotaro is definitely not the same man after stardust crusaders, that shit changed him.
I love the idea that Kakyoin didn’t need the art set to use Hierophant Green, he just bought it to be extra cool brooding emo boy with art powers. Fits so well with his loner character.
It's nice that Araki did make note in the part 4 manga that after adopting Shizuka (the invisible baby) he became his old self and gotten stronger mentally and physically again for her.
We lost Iggy, Kakyoin and Abdul in part 3 We lost Polnareff in part 5 We lost *him* in part 6 But we never lost Joseph... the one who fought 3 Aztec gods, lost his best friend, lost his mother, saw his daughter suffer, fought dio's minions and Dio himself, he betrayed his wife, had a son with another woman, adopted an invisible child and lost all his companions of the crusade.
I think one of the saddest parts of Jotaro's character is this concept of 'without reward'. No matter how hard it seems, Jotaro gives it his one hundred percent focus, commitment and time. He never slacks off and jokes around like his grandfather, Joseph, did back when he was young. But he wasn't just some holy force of nature sent by God like his ancestor, Jonathan, was. He was both smart and strong. A deadly pair. But for all that, he was a man. And while he was a man gifted with the most powerful stand known to mankind and both the brains and the determined to go with it. He still had weaknesses. He still had his lack of ease, never really showing his emotions until he reaches his boiling points and it spills out. He had his PTSD from the deaths of the crusaders and his constant fear and anxiety regarding his family and friends. After losing the crusaders, I believe that Jotaro became very obsessed with this idea that danger is constantly following him due to his heritage and this was further compounded by the fact that when he went to Morioh, another whole set of shenanigans ensued because of the presence of Joseph, Jotaro and Josuke. Now combine that with the fact that he had a daughter. Jotaro now believes that the things he loves: his mother, his friends, his wife, his grandparents and his daughter. They are better off without him in his eyes, and so he goes off to protect them without them ever realising why. He goes around the world, fighting God knows what and defeating countless stand users who he deemed as a threat to not only the world at large, but to his family. All the while he brings more attention to himself and more people know who Jotaro Kujo is and what he is capable of. This further increases his fears because he knows people know who he is and now they will target what he loves most to defeat him. So, what does our tragic hero do? He continues. He entrenched himself further in this madness. He carries on. All this loneliness, this silent suffering. All for the sake of protecting those he holds most dear to him. Whether it be his mother or his daughter Jolyne. He goes on and keeps protecting them without them ever knowing he does. Which is why it is all the more tragic for him when it comes crumbling down. Jotaro's biggest tragedy is that, for everything he does. He gets no reward. His daughter never gets to enjoy the promising life she had in front of her and he never gets to finally rest and lift the weight of expectations and duties from his shoulders. Instead, he has everything he loves ripped away from him in the blink of an eye by his greatest enemy's friend. The shadow of DIO still haunting Jotaro till the very last moment. Even when offered the chance to save the entire planet and himself, Jotaro chooses to save his daughter Jolyne. Not once but twice. Because to him, she is the greatest reward. Because to him, she is what all his hard work is for. Because to him, she is The World.
@@shadowagent7361 what a wonderful world. It's been a long time since I've read it, so I think that sums up the 2nd save. 1st was when he saved Jolyne from Jongali's bullets leading to his disc stolen.
@@aregularguy2083 I honestly didn't count that one considering Jotaro had no idea about Whitesnake at the time, where as he knew good and well what would happen if he failed with Made in Heaven
Joseph is defined by tragedy and flaws. He lost his rival due to an argument that could've been resolved if they had given time to look at it from a calmer lens, but due to the argument provoking said rival- it contributed to his death, which weighs heavily on Joseph who feels immensely guilty over trying to figure out what he could've said to be more tactful. That's not even mentioning he's lived long enough to see all of his close allies, even the ones that were Nazis, die either naturally or through combat- with only Smokey and Lisa-Lisa still being around- the case of the latter, it's ambiguous if he's still around by Part 6 and in the latter, she once again leaves him to live her own life after briefly interacting with him, after years of believing she died along with his father- due to being on the run avenging said father. That's just Part 2. In Part 3, he loses three of his colleagues, dies temporarily to be brought back, and is under pressure to save his daughter while stopping a homicidal vampire from taking over everything. And what's worse, a lot of it was out of his control this time around due to the enemies being too strong. And in Part 4, his flaws come back to haunt him as his infidelity is exposed and he tries to make amemds to his son, which are frankly resolved with a new family member, but even he's not as senile as he pretends to be, he's still far past his prime and would be a burden in the fight against Kira. He suffered a lot, but for better or worse, he's a retired old man who at least lived long enough in his old body and identity by Part 6 and if he managed to live past the part, he'd die a natural, peaceful death this time around. He's earned it more or less.
I don’t think it’s that ambiguous in part 6 he literally just got old and senile which tbh the reason he didn’t practice hamon anymore was most likely he felt guilty still and just decided to let hamon go otherwise he would’ve still been young in 4 and 6 he would probably lost Susie Q though
Come to think of it, I wonder if what Joseph did throughout part 3 was a way to "redeem" himself for cheating on Suzie Q and harming her daughter and family.
Well tbh the stand users weren’t really strong enemies. It was that his stand was ineffective compared to theirs. If he was able to train with It i think it’s confident enough to say he could have probably used it very well like a weapon. I just hate how weak he was portrayed but tbh he had to be nerfed cuz he would have killed Dio. I still think the pillar men were on another level than dio
this, in the manga, is manifest of the Joestar curse. Bringing suffering to themselves and those around them in the name of justice. It's why Part 6's ending is a happy one. Jotaro and Jolyne are finally free.
The joestars drew their strength from their blood but their blood is also their weakness, JoJo! Your daughter is your weakness! -somebody on part X to avoid spoiler
I love the tragic irony of all the Crusader's eventual fates. Avdol, with his fiery stand and personality, is killed in a dark room by a literal void. It also mirrors the time he almost died to Hol Horse before. Iggy, despite his initial uncooperativeness, dies out of dogged loyalty to his former rival. Kakyoin, introduced as a sneaky and cunning servant of Dio, dies honorably while facing his former master turned enemy. Polnareff, whose greatest strength was his chivalry and speed, ends up paralyzed then a turtle because of an honorless crime lord. Jotaro, who killed Dio himself, spends the rest of his life failing to kill his shadow. Joseph, the most intelligent of all the crusaders, grows old and senile.
I think what makes part 3 even more impactful is that when you finish this long adventure, full of action and comedy, when you've grown to love these characters, you're thrown into part 4, with new characters and places. And you get adventures and comedy as well, but this time you get the sense of something much calmer. You go back to everyday life. The crusaders reached their goal and they go back home, and everything is back to "normal". Personally, while watching part 4 I was always wondering where the main storyline was. The first episodes lack a main focus, and I think that makes it even more important. It's real. It lets you go through the eyes of a crusader, and wonder if it's all really over, if the most relevant part of life already happened in that trip to Egypt. It makes you wonder what'll happen next, which is how real life goes. I think this is one of the reasons why even the viewer longs the times in part 3, even if they were not there physically.
That's the best way to put how I felt about seeing part four for the first time! Part three will always be my favorite but part four is so special because it's like a break. It's more like a slice of life show in many ways, we spend time with young protagonists who act like actual kids, where Jotaro and Kakyion seemed so much more adultish in thier adolescence Especially because part four is sandwiched between the first three parts, and then 5 and 6 who are also full of high stakes and actions; part four is like a breather in many ways
Yeah, despite not really liking the second half of Part 3, I just feel like it drags on for way too long which I know isn’t an uncommon opinion, I still miss it whenever I finish it and I remember my time with it fondly. Part 5 tries to do something similar but I just despair most of the time because the characters are nowhere near as endearing even if every other part is better written than Part 3.
You said what i wanted to say but, i didn't had the words to say it.. jojo is the best anime in my opinion, i watched over 100+ shounen animes but none had that feeling, i don't know how to express myself.. anyway, jojo have a special place in my heart..
@@Starburst514 honestly, Part 4 did have its stakes, but it wasn't "the fake of the world" stuff, but more local. Kira was no less dangerous than those 3 or the Pillar Men. Hecould easily have been a major world power like Dio, Diavolo, or Pucci, but he *chose* to a different path. So, sure, the stakes weren't as high, but the danger was just as great and we had more time with the characters as people, not just as champions. It was probably the greatest shift in storytelling the series took from part to part, so it was a bit of a shock to say the least.
It drives me crazy. The Stardust Crusaders is my favorite protagonist party in all of JJBA, and they all ended up horribly. Literally nobody gets a “happily ever after” despite the fact that each and every one of them deserve such an ending. I used to appreciate the fact that at least Jotaro, Joseph and Polnareff survived Part 3, but after watching through the following parts, I really start to think that it’s probably better if they died earlier. It hurts me to see them getting hurt and I feel like dying early for a Stardust Crusader probably isn’t so bad. Joseph had lived a long life, but thanks to that he was accompanied by countless goodbyes. While the peaceful and happy Part 4 was progressing in Morioh, Polnareff was SUFFERING in Italy. When he finally was able to meet Giorno, he lost his stand and body. And finally, my favorite JoJo, Jotaro. He spent the rest of his life getting rid of the remnants of DIO’s forces along PolPol and never truly had his own life. His marriage life was not happy either because he couldn’t even get to stay by the side of his wife and daughter for a while. He gave his life to protect Jolyne, but he probably greeted his daughter in heaven way sooner than he would’ve thought. I call the Crusaders a real tragedy. It’s like a puzzle with simply no solution. It’s like whether or not they survived did not matter after all because they would never be happy. It really makes my heart ache whenever I think about the unfair lives that each and every Crusader had to live through.
Spoilers ahead: The only happiness i can think is when pucci is finally dead and i like to think that jotaro get to live a peaceful life without worrying about dio's influence anymore.
@@fururuha This is cannon. Araki said that the souls of the characters got to live on happily in the next universe without DIO and his influence. More than that, they retain the lessons and friendships of their previous lives, which is why everyone was still together, even after eons had passed.
@@jamalwalker04 How many people died in part 4 except Reimi who came out dead and Kira who was the ultimate boss? Like, 3? That's not even enough to account for like 1/3 of the main cast or important characters who died in part 5 lol. Also the first half of part 4 was literally Josuke and friends' everyday life, and the main plot about Yoshikage never started until literally the past half of the entire story. If this couldn't be called happy and peaceful among the JJBA franchise idk what could man...
Polneraff suffers a lot, most of it not even being his fault. He loses his sister to the monstrous son of a sadistic aide to a homicidal vampire with universal aspirations, via the cruelest fate a woman would suffer. He understandably wants payback, and in his overzealous nature, he gets goaded into a situation that gets Avdol killed, leading Polneraff to have added guilt, which is temporarily alleviated with J.Geil's death due to the possibility of no more victims from this monster. Polneraff is then taken advantage of by the enemy for his weakness to consider dying to what he thought were his sister and mentor figure killing him for not helping him the right way- which is partially alleviated through Avdol coming back- still being alive and recovering behind Polnerafff's back due to the others considering him loose-lipped, which is another issue on its own. He then sees Avdol die for real this time and it's something completely out of his control due to the enemy's nature,. Soon after, Iggy dies after finally building a friendship due to the enemy being cruel. And then he learns of Kakyoin's death, so he's lost three friends and has to continue the fight against evil, but at least DIO himself is gone. Then his crusade against evil leads to him getting crippled and left for dead. He can't even call for help due to Diavolo's hold over Italy, leading to him carrying the means to defeat the seemingly invincible Stand alone. He then loses his body, his Stand has to be put down to defeat Diavolo, and he's now in the body of an animal who's only good for transport and hiding. And ironically, he's back in the service of DIO- the vampire who took advantage of his guilt to make him a minion- technically through his son, but thankfully the son is on the side of good. Given how long turtles live, he's not getting any peace anytime soon due to being involved with the dangerous world of the mafia.
Other that that last bit about working with Giorno being like Dio's minion again, it's pretty solid. Giorno is like the best of both worlds between Johnathan and Dio, which is amazing because his childhood was bad like Dio's too
"A typical seventeen year old kid that just doesn't understand social cues" My man it took me like 17 years to figure out that, if people talk to me, it's because they are probably interested in talking to me.
Kakyoin: Dead Avdol: Dead Iggy: Dead Polnareff: Crippled, died and became a turtle Jotaro: Has to live with DIO ptsd and knowing three of his friends are dead. Joseph: Cheated on his wife, thus breaking the Joestar family
yeah, Kakyoin knew he would never be fully understood for having a Stand with normal outsiders who might hang out with him that would be targetted by Stand users- due to the ironclad rule that Stands attract other Stands- would see Kakyoin's actions with awkward distance at best or alienation of strong discrimination at worse. It's a lose-lose for Kakyoin, so he was isolated due to this inevitable reality. And in spite of his efforts, he was very depressed due to his loneliness, leading to DIO to take complete advantage of it to brainwash him to fight the Crusaders. He joined the group, had mishaps along the way, temporarily lost his eyes, lost two comrades, and then died himself wth his family only really learning about it a little while after his death. It's tragic, but at least with his death, it wouldn't be a pileup of tragedies like the remaining three.
Well he temporarily lost his eyes it’s not a good thing kakyoin had a tragic life but, I feel like if he was still alive he’d have a lot more friends and still hangout with jotaro and the trip made him grow as a person. so it wouldn’t have been so bad still the only people who dios remnants were targeting was jotaro and tbh he still would’ve died but he would’ve alongside jotaro.
SPOILERS for Part 6: This is just a reminder that Joseph is still alive during the events of Part 6. That means when Pucci killed Jotaro, for a brief moment in time, Joseph became The First and The Final Stardust Crusader.
@@hollow7500 If you haven't caught up to the end of Part 6, don't read this comment. Polnareff died at the end of Part 5 and his ghost is inside the room inside Coco Jumbo's shell. His ghost was still lingering at the end of Part 5, but Polnareff was still dead in every meaning of the word. He also said he was intending to pass on one day, but was sticking around inside the shell for just a little bit longer. We don't know if he would've passed on by the beginning of Part 6 or not.
@@hollow7500 I don't think you understand what a ghost is... Even if you wanted to argue that his consciousness still existing in the mortal world means he's alive, he still said he was only hanging around for a little while before choosing to pass into the afterlife.
im not 100% sure if this is true but i heard someone say that Araki said that in part 6, Giorno was visiting Disneyland. My headcannon is that he was searching on ways to make Polnareff land a reality.
Regarding Polnareff I really find touching what F.F. Voice actress, Mariya Ise said when talking about why he is one of her favorite characters. "Polnareff seems less scared of dying than most people, which makes it really sad that those around him keep dying while he survives"
It is sad that after all of their travels, only two of the six crusaders got a truly happy ending. And those are the JoJos. Joseph was able to reconcile as much as he could with Josuke, and probably the rest of his family, we just don't see it. And Jotaro does get a happy ending, even if it only came to be through the meddling of Emporio. Which also brings up another thing. Technically, Pucci gave Jolene and Jotaro happier lives. If it weren't for Stone Ocean, and eventually Made in Heaven, Jolene would still resent Jotaro, and their relationship may have never healed. This was never Pucci's plan, but it still happened.
@@awesome1ru most likely still jotaro, the part 6 gang cahnge name because the erasure of pucci existence wildly effected their life while it doesn't effect jotaro life (earlier on at least)
I love your analysis of Jotaro so much. He is my favorite Jojo character and one of my favorite characters of all time, and I feel like you hit the nail on the head perfectly with the burden perpetually on his shoulders. He really does care deeply, he just doesn't feel like he has the time or ability to express it because of how many people are depending on him
The points that have stuck to me on Jotaro’s age shining through in his behavior from off the top of my head was when he was talking with the school nurse, when he pulled the trigger of the officers gun in the jail cell, and when he would do his party tricks for his friends, they always felt off in his character, but had a sense honesty into his character that showed that it’s how he truly is on the inside, a teen with not too many friends. But until you layed it out, it never truly connected for me.
I almost forgot how tragic these guys are. The somewhat repetitive stand battles and overall mission to stop DIO distracted me the first time, but now that I’ve seen most of the other parts (currently on Jojolion), I realize they’re all been through a lot. Regarding Jotaro, I came to the understanding that he wanted to try and settle down after the whole Egypt incident. But being a stand user, he would risk endangering his family. Granted I don’t like the decision he made in distancing himself from his wife and Jolyne without telling them the truth, it was something that had to be done in order to prevent them from being dragged into the world he’s forever bound to
He tried to explain it to Jolyne after she got Stone Free, but he could never truly explain it to his wife without sounding crazy. It's hard to believe that your husband has to leave you because of an entity that you cannot see and perceive attracts other people with the same entity, and these people may or may not have murderous intent.
It's sad, half of them died in part 3, iggy got dragged along and gained a respect for the crusaders but he died, Avdol... you said it best, Kakyoin was alone his entire life, Polneraff lost his limbs becoming a shadow of his former self and then died and now barely clings to the living world, Jotaro... he did his best but he couldn't protect everyone and he tried to separate himself from his daughter trying to save her but still failed, and Joeseph and not even knowing and might not even remember anything is simply just a old man, a relic that didn't die, the only living crusader even outliving his grandson... the crusaders became a tragedy
JoJo's changed my life. Everything from the characters and the story itself just resonated with me. And I think that you just expressed my view in this video as well, I agree with the way you explained the characters. Truthfully a legendary part of fiction and anime.
I once watched a video that showed Joseph outliving all of the crusaders, and remaining alone in the end, and I made a connection that was also pretty tragic. Joseph’s tarot card is the hermit, doomed to be forever on his own. Hence why his friends all died and yet he remains.
@@noahball4671He was confirmed still alive as of part 6, but somewhat mentally degraded again. Hamon sadly only slows aging and does not reverse it and bro is probably turning full senile by then.
i'm gonna say it i think the achtung baby arc was the peak of joseph as a character a lot of people will usually say one of his cool fights from previous parts and maybe i'm bias because my dad was in prison for most of my childhood but joseph and josuke coming to this realistic bonding understanding with each other where they care about each other, but for each other as people and stuff gets me everytime
Polnareff deservers his own side series that tells what he was up to between Parts 3 and 5 cause just from the few flashbacks Polnareff had in Golden Wind, it seems like him and Jotaro went on another trip or two, investigating the Stand Arrows.
Polnareff and Jotaro teamed up after Egypt to investigate the Stand Arrows with the help of the Speedwagon foundation. They both began their search in Egypt, then went to Italy, then Jotaro split off to go look elsewhere while Polnareff stayed behind. While he was in Italy, Diavolo caught onto his investigation and, fearing that it could expose his identity or cause future problems (which it did), decided to kill Polnareff. He miscalculated, however, and Polnareff somehow escaped with the beetle arrow and his life, but is forced to go into hiding without ANY possible way of contacting outside Italy since Passione has tapped the entire phone network in Italy.
In the Jojo spin-off manga Crazy Diamond's Demonic Heartbreak one of the main characters is Kakyoin's cousin whose entire character motivation is to find out what happened to him. The last time she sees him was when DIO abducted him, then a year later she sees him dead on the news, Kakyoin's family had absolutely no idea what happened to him. She also gets Thoth.
@umar b after MiH, yes he is fine. but just before the singularity point and after the speed up (jotaros death). There was a moment where Joseph was the only crusader alive (Polnareff did say that he was going to leave the turtle and pass one day)
It's sad that Kakyoin fought to the very end until he had nothing left, and at the moment of his death, his closest friends were there to watch him die; letting him see the people loves as he dies. That he lived his entire life without any friends until the crusaders found him, befriended him, and pretty much made him a part of their family. Giving Kakyoin what he wanted and giving him a reason to live. And the entirety of part 3 he fought for reason, he fought for his friends, he fought for what he loved most, he fought until he had nothing left to fight with. He's truly a depressing character.
jotaro was given huge responsibilities that he took so others wouldn't, gave up his existence trying to protect his most close ones far and safe from him as he knew danger would come, yet failed at this and died at the beginning of part 6 to protect his daughter he loves more than anything else but couldn't even watch grow up. A brilliant character that seems not to care but did more than any other to protect everyone.
Part 3 is my personal favorite part. I know that most people don’t like it as much compared to the other parts. I often have a hard time explaining why it’s my favorite, but I feel like you summed it up pretty well with this video. Great Job!
Part 3 Is the best story wise, stand wise , It has humour and action and the stands were full of originality. Part 4 already showed some creaks, from 5 onward It all went to shit
I would put part 3 and 7 equally good. I love the story telling and character development in part 7, but I like the simple yet quite genius design of stands in part 3
It's my least favorite part by far. It feels like watching Dragon Ball. The story feels shoved to the side and it's just Stand battle after Stand battle. Almost every episode feels similar in terms of general layout: enemy Stand user appears! They can't beat them! But oh wait, someone (almost always Jotaro) figures out how to beat them! And down they go! On to the next enemy Stand user! I almost skipped halfway through it due to how boring and uninspired it felt. It was just terrible. The only good parts of Part 3 are the Hanged Man arc and the final DIO arc. Everything else was a slog. Now don't get me wrong, the story is there. It's just shoved completely to the side along with everything else that isn't just pure Stand combat.
@@TheFirstCurse1 There's a reason for the constant assaults by Stand users though: DIO knew they'd be coming to Egypt and put Stand users in their path to try and kill them. He controlled one of the arrows at this point, so he probably made HUNDREDS of Stand users and just spread them out everywhere in hopes the Crusaders would run into one eventually. I think there's anywhere from a few hours to a few days since the previous Stand user encounters as the Crusaders slowly make ground. TL:DR There's a legitimate reason why there's an onslaught of Stand users that the Crusaders have to face.
Thank you so much for this video. I never fully realized how tragic the Stardust Crusaders were until this video, like I knew they didn’t have easy lives but I didn’t know how much they really went through. Because at first and on the surface level, all you see is 5 people (+a dog later on) going to fight someone in Egypt and they have a bunch of enemies to face on the way, but later it sinks in that these fights actually impact the characters more then we see and that they have a long lasting effect on them. Even years later, their 50 day trip would come back to haunt the ones that remain. You gave such a beautiful analysis on their characters, so thank you again
Before Pucci died and all his actions got erased, only Polnareff and Joseph remained in the living world with Polneraff being in this weird bridge between life and death and Joseph being fully alive but degrading due to age.
also about Jotaro consider how that pressure of having to teach himself rather than his father what it means to be a man expresses itself. Hes rude to his mother and easily annoyed because of that pressure.
Polnareff is still dead. He’s a ghost inside a turtle. That aside, he also says he doesn’t plan to stay in Coco Jumbo forever and does intend to cross over.
Im not gonna lie I cried when Kakyoin died, and I am not the type of person to cry when there is an emotional scene in a show but Kakyoin's death really hit me emotionally
I would say your analysis was spot on for ever one but hierophant green. I'm pretty sure it was stated he always felt like the odd one out of his family and classmates then his stand formed and he expressed gratitude because he didn't think of hierophant green as a stand but as his friend since the stand upon awakening was always their for him
Nah,png video usually have gameplay in the background while annoyingly captioning every dumb joke they make lol. Plus his avatar/person isn’t on the screen every second of the video.

I've often seen people saying that they didn't like SC because it's too long and even I was shocked that I got through the 48 episodes without getting bored until I completed the entirety of JoJo and realised that SC has my favourite main cast. The characters were so endearing that I enjoyed every episode even if it had some boring fights.
The crusaders will always be the main protagonist of the whole jojo universe for me, Jotaro has been important in every damn part after that, Joseph is the reason we have part 4 and Polnareff played a very big role for the events in part 5
I consider hol horse as the wild card in the stardust crusaders, he was the only one that even tried to disobey dio, he even tried to fight enya so I think he’s the only that made out ok.
Jotaro like Jolene can’t ever seem to catch a break and it breaks my heart to see that in part 6, I havnt finished it but I know how it ends and frankly it’s depressing
I’m almost 100% certain that the song used for Kakyoin’s tragedy is Midna’s theme from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (could also be Midna’s lament idk, one of those two)
Tragedy of Jotaro: His daughter join to the problem with dio and stands Tragedy of Polnareff: He turns into a turtle and so close to die Tragedy of Joseph: gets old and can't go with more womens.
This is very nice! Stardust Crusaders... it's ending I always felt was sad. DIO was defeated, but at what cost? (Tbf most Jojo endings have a bunch of casualties in the main cast by the end) Maybe a "Novel Kars: The most broken Jojo character ever"?
For Polnarev, he left everyone behind to find a life to live, apparently he never found it and instead devoted himself to the next generation of users. I feel that Naruto's sorrow and sadness is a good fit for him because he lost his sister, Avdol twice, then never found happiness in life just devoted himself to the duty of preparing the next generations.
The tragedy of Joseph is how long he lived. Where you watch all your life and death friends die, your relatives... At that point, would you even want to live anymore?
jotaro and Joseph probably had the most pain. Jotaro had PTSD from dio, and not to mention, having the same type of stand as dio makes him realize he’s similar to the very person he hated. He watched the crusaders die, his daughter somewhat hated him for leaving, and it all started at a young age. Joseph was always seen as the jokester who’s always happy. When meeting grief he has to keep calm and just care for others. He watches his best friend die, got his hand cut off, watched the crusaders die, and messed up in Japan. the time he arrived in morioh is when josuke didnt need him, so you’re left with a sense of uselessness. he’s not even seen as a father there until he’s adopted achtung baby, but that’s extra.
At least jotaro's mum somewhat understood him to a degree and didn't hold any of the possible cold nature he gave off against him because that's how he is she knows he cared and didn't give up on him
I love these channels that actually put the time and effort for their videos this man explains it beautifully and he even edits the captions to make it actually make sense. You can likely tell a good RUclipsr from whether they make the captions make sense.
A bit unrelated, but that's why you gotta appreciate the small things in life. Your everyday may be tiring, sad, unsatisfying, but that's how life is, no matter if you've accomplished a big goal or taken care of a long-lasted problem, new ones will start springing up and seemingly souring your just regained peace and happiness. The key is to find joy in mundane and bad. A little bit of fantasy also helps, but not too much - overexcessive escapism is a thing that will, sooner or later, only make your life miserable. Thats why you gotta have dreams, both big and small, because they're what gives us hope and our everyday duties give us a sense of accomplishment. What I mean is something like this: even if Jotaro (who's had it worse imo, alongside with Monsieur 5m haircut) had to isolate himself from his family and couldn't keep the people dear to him by his side due to the possibility of them being hurt, I think he still found some peace and happiness on his tremendous search for other stand users. Like eating good food or maybe going to an aquarium (he probably travelled all around the world so I imagine he'd visit aquariums all around the world to check out all the local species). He probably made some acquaintances, even if the bond wasn't super strong, it always helps to have someone honest by your side. And he travelled with polnareff for a bit after the event of SC, after all. Even if they seemingly lost contact somewhen/where before or after p4, they definitely had lots of fun. Don't let tragedy define you and your life. It's nice to let yourself feel sad and miserable, but life's not just about the bad things. Do things you like, reject the excessive escapism, accept the reality as it is and follow your dreams (as corny as it sounds). Be happy.
this video really made me go deep down into my heart, and how many memories i have made along the journey of the crusaders, thank you, sometimes i miss the old stardust crusaders days
I saw a quote once about the crusaders that I really liked but forgot to save it. It described their end in a very poignant way. One of the lines read "the hierophant gave his last sermon." If anyone knows the entire quote please leave me a reply!
The one that surprised me the most is Jotaro when he begins his journey helping his friends and help his daughter and then dying on the place that he loved the most and makes me think An Edgy guy who didn't care about everything became a protector for his friends and family doing the best that he could do
2:35 i rlly can relate to that, but only that i got deppressions and my friends got them too. They share the simmilar problems and can just relate and understand it more then "normal" people.
This is one of those videos that really hurts to watch, Our beloved characters that we spent these 50 days with went from being super bizarre to becoming some of the most loved in the series, in the end most of them gave there lives to protect loved ones and friends, we get an insight later multiple times on how the remaining crusaders feel about there adventures with Polnareff's final moments flashing back to the adventures they had in Egypt, and multiple times in part 5 we see Jotaro looking at the photo of the crusaders and him never being able to see his daughter because he's constantly worried that something might happen because of how bad his PTSD got, Before those 50 days in Egypt Kakyoin states he had nothing and that these were the best of his life, I can only imagine what Josephs brain is like in parts 6 as in part 4 he's clearly going near insane as he's lost everyone, he's lost his best friend, his comrades and he was likely the person who had to be the one to tell Holy that Kakyoin and Avdol gave there lives to save her, Looking through all these moments really does make this a tragedy to think that Polnareff never ever see's Jotaro or Joseph ever again, these characters have lost everything plus more. On a side note I would like to add that one of the sadder moments in the series is when Silver Chariot cries when it dies in part 5, that really got me.
truly sad for Polnareff! he’s my favourite character in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure - games too! whilst he used to be one of the only people who can wield 2 (or more) stands at the same time and one of the fastest stand users there are; he’s now one of the slowest animals. what a true tragic story, what a coincidence too.
The crusaders easily had the most tragic story. Avdol was sucked to the abyss in an instant. Iggy was brutally beaten to death. Kakyoin went without friends for 17 years and died shortly after meeting some. Jotaro had to live with PTSD and constant fear, and died trying to save his daughter (which was technically successful for roughly 2 minutes). Joseph lost every one of his best friends and went senile. Polnareff lost literally everything but his soul. None of these characters had a happy ending. While everyone dies at some point, it is terrifying that some of the strongest people we have met were lost so seemingly easily due to just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. *That* is the tragedy of the Stardust Crusaders.
It’s sad cause I believe that the reason that none of them get a happy ending is how popular they were as a protagonist party, the writer just kept bringing them back cause everyone liked them but since they were no longer the protagonists they were relegated to losing over and over to make the new protagonists look better.
What sucks worst for Polnareff is if he'd run into Giorno sooner then he could've easily healed him and restored his body to full strength easily. We've already see he can easily recreate eyes, and other organs, plus Polnareff would get his fingers and toes that he'd previously lost as well.

Polnareff literally has the worst life of the Crusaders in my opinion He literally had his sister killed by Hanged Man and it might have implied that Hanged man had violated her, he was also used as a pawn/slave of DIO and after he saw Avdol and Iggy get killed in front of him, he later lost his ability to walk, being paralyzed for years only to be killed by the same monster and be stuck in the body of turtle while also losing his stand and ever since Egypt has never met any of the crusaders so his only friends were far away and unaware while he was paralyzed and lost his body

i’ve never seen my sister cry more at an anime than when she saw the end of stardust crusaders.
I actually cried at the end of Part 4 during it's toonami premier.
Reimi going to heaven, Joseph reminiscing with Jotaro on the boat, etc.
Yeah, especially near the end I was crying more than Okuyasu on Tonio's mineral water.
The end theme hit so differently by the end.
When Iggy dead, poor pornalef
but, i never cried at any of parts that hard, like after reading part 6 end...
I’m not crying…..it’s the work of an enemy stand…..
Are you sad and crying for a fictional character? - Yes, I am.
When was the second time he chose Jolyne over the world? I am well aware of how the MIH arc went.

Satisfying arcs, yes! Definitely A+ character writing!
It's more like a slice of life show in many ways, we spend time with young protagonists who act like actual kids, where Jotaro and Kakyion seemed so much more adultish in thier adolescence
Especially because part four is sandwiched between the first three parts, and then 5 and 6 who are also full of high stakes and actions; part four is like a breather in many ways
The story is about the town

Is Jotaro still the same Jotaro after part 6 ending or did his name change like Jolene and the prison gang did
@@awesome1ru most likely still jotaro, the part 6 gang cahnge name because the erasure of pucci existence wildly effected their life while it doesn't effect jotaro life (earlier on at least)
@@awesome1ru might finally change his name to Qtaro
It is said that Jolyne had a healthier relationship with Jotaro hence why she isn't dating some random asshole
@@Dimassaputra14 I would love to see that happen

Joseph might have died by part 6 but from what I've heard he took up hamon training again for the baby and is kinda close to his part 3 stats I guess
@@noahball4671He was confirmed still alive as of part 6, but somewhat mentally degraded again. Hamon sadly only slows aging and does not reverse it and bro is probably turning full senile by then.

I don’t know why I love the thumbnail so much I just feel like it really brings it all together I can’t stop looking at it
In the Jojo spin-off manga Crazy Diamond's Demonic Heartbreak one of the main characters is Kakyoin's cousin whose entire character motivation is to find out what happened to him. The last time she sees him was when DIO abducted him, then a year later she sees him dead on the news, Kakyoin's family had absolutely no idea what happened to him. She also gets Thoth.
@@Soupcat42 She's completely Kakyoin but female.
@@Soupcat42 she looks like a twin but she's just a cousin who copies his look

I didn’t know that spin-off existed lmfao
The Stardust Crusaders were true heroes, dedicated to stopping evil wherever they could.
Nobody ever said being a hero was easy.
We need a polnaref spinoff about the full story of what happens between crusaders and Golden wind. That manga would be a gold mine
fun fact: joseph is the only crusader whos healthy and fine (polnareff is trapped in a turtle that aint fine)
*Crusader
idk man take it from someone who is a turtle this life is hella fine
@@Zontar82 7 was good
I would put part 3 and 7 equally good.
These characters are always going to be among my favorites honestly they are just people I always wanted to know

Battle tendency is my favourite part just because of Joseph.
Also that sweet, sweet pillarmen theme.

Stardust Crusaders... it's ending I always felt was sad. DIO was defeated, but at what cost? (Tbf most Jojo endings have a bunch of casualties in the main cast by the end)
Maybe a "Novel Kars: The most broken Jojo character ever"?
For Polnarev, he left everyone behind to find a life to live, apparently he never found it and instead devoted himself to the next generation of users. I feel that Naruto's sorrow and sadness is a good fit for him because he lost his sister, Avdol twice, then never found happiness in life just devoted himself to the duty of preparing the next generations.
It's interesting I stumbled upon this video at this moment. Good stuff man 10/10
The tragedy of Joseph is how long he lived.
Unrelated note to the video: I love all the Legend of Zelda music in the background, and the other video game music, too.
At least jotaro's mum somewhat understood him to a degree and didn't hold any of the possible cold nature he gave off against him because that's how he is she knows he cared and didn't give up on him
Bro, 7:40 is quite possibly the most fabulous thing Polnareff has done

This is not a story often told by the Jedi.
Be happy.
Beautiful.
True 🙏
2:15 I think he was so introvert because he thought the other kids wouldn't understand him because they couldn't see his stand.

Unless seeing this on a phone screen makes the text look bigger, that is infact an essay
@@c_sea1n perchance
It’s sad cause I believe that the reason that none of them get a happy ending is how popular they were as a protagonist party, the writer just kept bringing them back cause everyone liked them but since they were no longer the protagonists they were relegated to losing over and over to make the new protagonists look better.
RIP to the English voice actor for Josuke
What sucks worst for Polnareff is if he'd run into Giorno sooner then he could've easily healed him and restored his body to full strength easily. We've already see he can easily recreate eyes, and other organs, plus Polnareff would get his fingers and toes that he'd previously lost as well.
The saddest thing is that neither Jotaro or Polnareff knew they both died.
