I think they removed that Vesemir line because it was too on the nose what his fate will be. They wanted to keep it a secret for maximum effect.
I %100 agree
He might as have worn a vest that read "I'm DeD ☠"
I wish I could make a montage of all the people, monsters and other beings who ruthlessly insulted Geralt's intelligence and harmless curiosity.
@@Cheepchipsable You mean Star Trek's red uniform?
They could leave it tho, his death wouldn’t be so painful with this rehearse..
Birna Bran talking about being an "erovring" pretty much confirms her being taken involuntarily. "Erövring" is the swedish word for something that is/has been conquered, something that's been literally taken (almost always by force).
Thank you, I was trying to find the origin of this word. Very interesting!
that detail would certainly explain the disdain she seems to have for most of Skellige and its traditions
As a swede i can clarify that it means ”conquering” not “conquered”.
@@antonh1159 Nope, Erövra is conquering, En erövring is something that has been conquered.
Vesemir and Geralt have such great dialogs. Thank you, xLetalis
Indeed they do
The writing for the characters stands out so well. They continue this legacy of the books in a very good manner. I am noting particularly the character of Avala'ch. He is god knows how many years old and possesses an equivalent wisdom. Wisdom that is making him so determined and confident about the matters at hand, almost always in control of his actions, nothing surprises him in this world. Not dead inside at the same time - you clearly see him having strong feelings and biased thoughts that give him altogether a sense of self-superiority, as he mentions himself. And that makes you truly feel the unnerving tension in his presence, subtle despise in the words exchanged. Such a well-written character.
The games are like the most expensive fan-fic ever
Fantastic
well said
This is one of the best written games ever from a dialogue perspective. Some of the voice acting leaves some to be desired but man it’s hard to beat this how good it is
not mention his voice actor did a superb job bringing Avallac'h to life :) The game did Avallac'h more justice than the books, I believe.
In the books literal lost words of the tower and the Swallow is him talking too Ciri saying what took you so long? And this is after he first talks too Geralt in the cave where he is drawing and ancient painting this is on the outskirts of Toussaint
I really like Avallac'h... don't think they captured him well on Netflix.
Yeah they did everything terribly…
There were a lot of things Netflix didn't capture well.
They didn't captured anything on Netflix.
What do you mean? He never appeared in Season 2....
netflix just ruin. not like hbo
Triss's dialogue impressed me so much :( I love her pure heart..
I don't know why anyone chooses to be bossed around by yennifer, she has absolutely no appeal for me
@@briandorough498 Both very much have their appeal (as does Ciri, though I don't mean "for Geralt"), it doesn't have to be such a drastic, all-or-nothing contest.
@@briandorough498if you choose yenneffer or not, she'll boss around till the end of the main story... And at the end of blood and wine she's basically an insignificant robot with odd sleeping patterns...
It's a character, in a game...
@@briandorough498 triss îs worse than yen. But you are just too naive
Thank you for these, man. Especially Vesemir's speech right before the battle at Kaer Morhen. I actually cried, I can't fathom why this was removed/blocked. Avallach's one about the portals between worlds is pretty neat too.
:(
" *I can't fathom why this was removed* "
It's too obvious. Also, Geralt is not a noob, he knows that fighting carries risks and casualties might happen. Why would Vesemir tell him such a thing? To scare him before the inevitable battle? What for? Is Vesemir scared himself, is he too old?
It's better they removed this dialog.
The same with Birna. If she had reasons to hate the former king, it totally changes the perspective we see her through. It might have worked, but in order to do it any justice, her character needed to be much more fleshed out.
The willingness to remove a well written piece of dialog because it does not fit the broader picture is the difference between good writing and great writing. Great writers are merciless toward their own creation.
Man that stuff with Birna makes so much sense. I always thought she was a foreigner before replaying the game recently. But this added dialogue seems that was the original idea
I figured she was either in an arranged marriage or she was captured during a conquest, and neither of them were happy about it.
@@diyeana same. Given how she dresses I originally thought she was a foreigner, but some dialogue suggests she is Skellige born. But this cut dialogue seems to suggest she was originally supposed to be a foreigner before they cut it.
She and Bran didn’t have the best marriage overall, since Bran did have a mistress. The mistress clearly did love him enough to want to die with him on his pyre but after that not much is known of her since she isn’t mentioned again afterwards. With this new dialogue, it seems to show a little more how both Birna and Bran both weren’t good people, most likely what made their marriage worse. The saying is two wrongs don’t make a right
@@ShadowJCreed yeah. Though small correction, I actually believe that’s his second wife, not mistriss. I thought it was too but then I learned Crach has 2 wives in the books and even tries to get Yennefer to be his third, sense he’s a flirt in the books. I think it also says thing the womens character page (I think she had one). Could be wrong though, it’s been a while sense I took a look through the character page.
@engineer gaming Well I just rewatched the clip of Bran’s funeral, all that’s said of her is that she and Bran didn’t share a bed as long as he did with Birna. Unless incest is common in Skellige she definitely wasn’t Bran’s daughter. So second wife like Joseph said is a possibility and more then likely the case if Crach had two wives as well
To think that all of this was cut from the game, such a shame. Thank you for uploading this video, I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Almost sure I heard the Triss dark toughts line a few mounths ago in my last playtrough, on french version. And this is not the first time you mentionned a cut dialogue I heard on my version. So unless I am mad or have too much imagination, it seems some dialogues are not cut on some versions of the game ! Too bad I cannot go back to be sure, no save where Triss is still here
I played in French as well and it does sound familiar to me too! I'm not adamant about it by any means but it did ring some bells. Other people have mentionned that some dialogues in this video are available in other languages (mostly Polish) so it's possible that the English version of the game cut more content than the rest.
I think Vesemir's dialogue has probably been removed to keep that "Shock" impact of his death, as some may have seen that as foreshadowing and figured it out before the battle
8:45 Interesting. "Erövring" is Swedish for "capture" or "conquest", so it's used a little strange here. It should be her that is his erövring.
hm interesting indeed
I've experienced one interesting thing: in Kaer Morhen, the quest where you go with Lambert to charge the phylactery (or whatever it is called) to lift the curse from Uma. In that quest you (can?) kill the giant old speartip. When you return later to that area, it is swarming with nekkers. I am pretty sure, they don't arrive, before you kill the giant. But I haven't tested it yet. I found that interesting, it shows how dedicated CDPR was, while creating this fantastic game!
Always makes my day better when I see you’ve uploaded! Thanks for all your hard work
Vesemir just took the "no witcher has ever died in his bed" too seriously and decided the battle would be a good moment to act on that.
Hey atleast it took a Wild Hunt to kill him, not just an ordinary Drowner, or falling to death lol
I love how Avallach calls us brutal, while the Aen elle enslave and murder humans😆
It is the same as how we as humans call animals savage, and then enslave and kill animals, it just displays how much higher the aen elle think of themselves
Humans did the same to the Aen Seidhe elves.
The witcher universe is Grey not Black and White
@@mwasras Thereabouts - what color do you get when you mix blood, c@m, sh@t and dirt together? :D
Yea that piece of dialogue from Triss would have been a good character building line, it was quite powerful for being cut content. Wonder why things like that weren't brought in for the next gen edition.
This mod is actually included in the next gen edition, it should be there. Perhaps won't work on old saves though.
@@kevine.136 It's from latest version of mod while next gen edition has first version
Great timing. I was literally just thinking this morning how it's been a bit since your last video. And here you are. Great stuff as always!
Thank you :)
Man, your videos are always so well done and detailed. I watch a lot of videos on different subjects, you make the best, no joke
Thank You so much for Your great, ongoing witcher content ♡
the pleasure is mine :)
It's always impressive to see you find new stuff. What's amazing about the game is that it never gets old, even on replays. I always get immersed in it and explore the world.
Finally a new video! Always nice to see the message pop up that there is a new video.
And btw the dialog with Avalach about killing Ge'els exists on PlayStation or atleast existed until the next gen update. So unless they removed it its still there.
Shame that they took this dialog with Vesemir from us...
You constantly impress me with your eye for detail man. Great stuff.
thank you :)
Thank you for the video, it was a good one!

I noticed something interesting this week that might be Witcher-related. 30 some years ago I read what I think was my first fantasy books. They were based on Welch mythology and I really enjoyed them. Sadly the the school library only had the first two books in the series of five since they, at least back then, only had translated the first two to Swedish. A few times since then I have tried to find them but up until last week I haven't found them since I didn't remember much about them more then that they were based on Welsh mythology. But two weeks ago I manage found them on Audible! Started to listen to them and they are still enjoyable even if I am in my 40s now.
Then this week, during the second book, I got a strong Witcher 3 vibe from three characters. They were three crones living in a swamp and they gave me a strong Crones-vibe. I would not be surprised if they, or what they are based upon in Welsh mythology, have been an inspiration in the creation of The Witcher 3s Crones. It would be interesting to hear what you think. The book in question is The Black Cauldron by Lloyd Alexander and the 2nd book in the 5 part The Chronicles of Prydain-series. It's an easy read/listen as they are written to youths.
Would very much like to hear your input on this.
Talkking about the chronicles of prydain or a different series?
the three witches/crones are a popular theme in anglo-saxon literature, taken from ancient greek moiras, perhaps that was the direct inspiration to both the game and the books. or shakespeare (macbeth)
@@lpvrooom6714 yes
Great lines indeed. That last one from Avallach was my favorite.
I could swear that I had the dialog with Letho im my unmodded playthrough during the meeting with him.
If I turn off the mod, I can't speak to him at all
I belive it was during the quest in witch you first meet him.
Right! I feel the same and that Triss and Vesemir dialog too. Maybe because I played in polish but are cut in english?
I played in german so it could be that those lines are cut in englich but not in other languages.
Great video as always!
I am almost 100% sure "Should’ve paid ‘em more" was in the base game, or at least was included after the next-gen patch. I've just recently completed my very first playthrough (PC), just right after the next-gen came out. I think I have a very clear memory of that line.
One of the great things about the next gen version is this mod is included by default. CDPR asked the modders if they could, great decision
@@kevine.136 Actually it isn't there by default, some of the things are, but everything I showed in this video is not there by default in Next-Gen.
Same here. I could swear I had that dialogue option without mods.
Damn, that Vesemir dialogue hits the raw nerve
Have you ever considered doing this type of content for the Witcher 2? I really liked the Witcher 2 as well, I assume you have played it many times.
Damn, I wish the Vesamir line was in the base game. However, I have started over (again) and I haven't added this mod because it conflict with so many other mods, I just need to find a way to add this mod and have it play nicely with all my other mods, there are so many things the BiA mod changes its hard to figure out how to make them co-exist without killing my saves, this mod is extremely extensive on what it changes. the only available option to me at this point is to just delete all my other mods and just use BiA, but then I lose my favorite essentials, so I'm kinda stuck at this point, decisions, decisions😕
Damn another special video with many hidden secrets...Excellent work bro....Damn it Vesemir was truly the Father figure for all the witchers he trained
Well some didn't exactly see him that way. Lambert is the perfect example. There's no denying vessemir did the best with the hand he was dealt but he did take part in the taking of people's children to subject them to the Witcher trials where most of them die. And the whole process of creating witchers plays on the "necessary evil" theme. Is it the best way to deal with monsters? Yes. It's it the only way? No
Happy Thursday Xletalia!
Fantastic video as always. But I don’t recognize the music at 12:46, it’s amazing.
Thank you :) That is Witcher 2's epilogue music, during Dandelion's narration
@@xLetalis Found it. Been a long time and I didn’t make the connection. Thanks!
Oh, I like that detail about Geralt bringing drink to that sidequest.
Nice video. 90% of those locked dialogues are unlocked in the Polish version of the game. I haven't yet met the female troll, but I'll check if she also exist in my game.
Yeah Wham-a-Wham is supposed to have sister. In polish dub it's more clear that his sister is a hottie to that other troll.
Hah, I knew it! thanks :)
Found the crabs you were looking for in one of your videos...on one of the smaller island of skellige, on a beach with a cave entrance.
OMG you have the same Triss mod as me. Long flowing locks :D
Year 3029, mankind has went extinct leaving AI controlled apes ruling the entire war stricken world
xLetalis: *30* *MORE* *things* *you *didnt* *know* *about* *the* *Witcher 3!*
that would be the xLetalis AI I guess :)
I remember the Avallach' line about the portal and the Vesemir line about the battle being available in the base game version (without DLCs I mean).
The problem is that I played the base game in 2016. So... Tons of updates could have changed it since then.
This reminds me of miracle of sound's "ploughing a troll"...
My boy is back!
Wow, now that's interesting....the content that was planned, wow the developers really, REALLY went all in on this game hehe so much depth, nice details to hear about !
Great video.👍🏻 This mod is amazing. But I like that some parts that are out of character or not fit into the situation are were taken out of the game. But very interesting what CDPR had planned and prepared.
5:37 Promises promises
Off Topic question:
Have you ever done a video detailing your methods of GameSave management?
Do you use some mod or do you manually copy/rename some files/folders? You must have something pretty special to be able to efficiently run all the scenarios you do on this channel!
If you have not covered this (I searched and came up empty), I'd be super interested in you doing one!
The default game save mechanism in the game (both xbox and steam) is super clunky and I'm always having trouble identifying which playthrough any save is for,.. and in danger of deleting important ones!
Every time you post is like a message from an old friend. I love this game so so much and I also love your content. However, at some point the secrets in this game are going to run out. So if you ever feel like branching out to a different topic, I'll be there. I subscribe because of you, not just because of the game. You are greatly appreciated. Sincerely, a long time subscriber and a fan.
Hey, thank you for the kind comment :) I'll keep that in mind
Wow!So cool! Thank you!
At least on the Switch version, there’s a guarded treasure near Fox Hollow in Toussaint, the troll guarding it is a female troll and has the same lines as the one you featured in the video
Liked before I watched bc ik it's gonna be fascinating
I hope so ;]
Avalach's conversation about the portal was fascinating. Can't believe I missed it.
Good to see you again
hey ;]
I always find these posts through your community posts
yeah YT doesn't recommend my videos to many people these days
I got the impression that i somehow got that line from Vesemir whiout any modifications, but it is likely im misrememering.
I hade some of those in my last play, few months ago, the triss and more payment ones im 100% sure
I vaugly remeber heard about Birna Brans situation previously.
I think there was some background dialog saying something like
"All the best of Cheif wifes come from the continant, they pick them up on raids"
Before listing a few with the Birna listed then
interesting
Maybe one of the Smiths in Lugos Fortress?
Everytime I watch one of your videos I remember why The Witcher 3 stands head and shoulders above every other game mods or no mods.
First of all this is a great video and I appreciate the effort you've put in it. But I had a small question regarding the cut content and especially the dialogues. Most of them, especially the Letho, Avallach and Triss ones sounded very familiar to me and I've never installed the brothers in arms mod. However I've played the game in Russian and German, so is there a possibility that some dialogues are available in other languages but are cut from the English version? Thank you in advance.
Hello :) I'd imagine that playing on other platforms is where these dialogues are more likely to work properly, but it's possible that the language makes a difference as well
That last line from Avalach is so cool
I see Triss. I click.
Hi! Nice video as always. May I ask a link to this Kaer Morhen cover with guitars and violin?
Witcher 1's credits theme, it's not a cover
@@xLetalis wow, didn't know this (average witcher 3 fan lol). Thank you!
It is a damn shame that there is so much good content available only with mods. Why would the developers leave so much out?
More isn't always better. They made the right decisions.
For a quick example, if Birna is a captive who has good reasons to hate her husband, it changes her character in a fundamental way. You can't just hint at it without developing it further, it's bad storytelling.
@@bakters Yes but there is also the conversation between geralt and vesemir or the avalach monologue and those doesn't seem to have problems with the story or out of the character.
@@shaisse5435 " *conversation between geralt and vesemir* "
Another good decision. There is no reason for Vesemir to tell Geralt, who's a very experienced fighter, that a battle might result in some casualties.
Why would he say such a thing? Is he trying to scare Geralt, before the battle? Silly.
Is he scared himself? I'm sure he was, but the Vesemir we experienced so far would not admit to it.
So he's basically telling *the player* , that he's gonna die. Someone in CDProjekt was bright enough, to mention that at this point every other RUclipsr will launch a poll for the chat to vote if Vesemir is gonna die or not.
And most people would likely vote "Yes".
" *avalach monologue* "
He shows his cards too much. Eventually we learn that he hates humans, but he never admits to it himself. He's too wise for that.
@@bakters Well I wouldn't mind these kind of things...
@@bakters less is more! Well said. Although to be clear, i enjoy the game for its story and exposition on the witcher universe. When u play just one more time for the 10th time or so, these missable dialogues start to make this game really stand out. More may be better in the 10th playthrough unlike, say, a movie or book that u watch/ read perhaps once or twice
Damn Letalis 🤔 what song did you use for the last details missed?? It sounds so majestic.
the last Details Missed video I made or the ending of this video? The one in the end here is the Witcher 2 epilogue theme, during Dandelion's narraiton
@@xLetalis yes the ending of this video. Thank you for letting me know!
I don't know if you did this in a previous video but I just found it.
In Rannvaig in skellige if you go to the house of jonna but don't go in she talks about killing the boy. I have only have been able to get this if I haven't started the Nithing quest and haven't talked to her yet.
FYI that dialogue with Triss is not dependant upon you having that mod, only the option is. I have heard that dialogue recently (in the last month) and I do not have Brothers in Arms mod installed. When I got it I didn't do the agent mission, but you ask her a similar question in regards to Menge IIRC and then Triss replies in the same way. It's not specifically cut content, it's simply an alternative way of allowing Triss to basically say she's suffering from PTSD (she explains she has nightmares each night). Incidentally there's quite a lot that's told about Triss just by looking around the room she rents. The set designers did a really good job and telling a story through that.
I went through this scene without the mod and she never said these things, unless it happens at some other point ...
Wish that Vesemir dialogue stayed, wish all of them stayed honestly, game is already filled with so much just imagine if had even one more year of development
Man...I saved playing W3 for a long time and only recently player through and beat the main game, started playing the DLCs. I'm sure most people hold a special place in their heart for it because of the characters...
"Geralt is the worst character video"
You mean like how he actually tried to call himself Geralt Roger Eric du Haute-Bellegarde? : ^ )
Now imagine the poor Gwent card-maker trying to print that cleanly
That Avallach lines before you go into the portal must have been in the base game with no mods! it's really good!
Hey XLETALIS did you know that the 3 people drinking is a book reference
It’s from the lady of the lake it refers to Dijkstra and 2 other secondary characters in the books an elf on the run and a General from nifgraad I think ..
Hmmm, the convo with Letho about Ben rings a bell. I must have seen it in your videos or dreamed of it or whatnot. I guess line availability doesn't depend on the locale of the game?
Hey Xletalis i have a question well sort of more a problem why doesn't the legendary mastercrafted forgotten Wolf trousers not appear when i want to craft it in the bloody barons castle you know with Yoanna?
Please help.
Other than that a great video keep up the great work👍
And greetings from the Netherlands🇳🇱
You’re a great youtuber xLetalis. I want you to know that
heh, thanks
the more content the beter! tnx
There is one book in the game that talks about humans building cities and buildings on ancient elven ruins, for example in vizima and Novigrad I think
I forgot what its name was but I think it was monumenta elforum and it suits really well what Avallac'h said before the portal
Would've loved them to keep Triss' lines in the game.
I also found something yesterday while playing but I'm not sure if that's a well known fact already. So I play on death march and wanted to go through it as fast as possible so
I skipped the Barons last quest since its optional. That means I never killed the Fiend from the Crones. But later when I went on their mountain with Ciri to take them out, there was the Fiend on my way when I about to bring back the coin. I never encountered it there before so I thought it must mean that's the same Fiend as the ones they sent to the Baron.
I can confirm that is not the case. I played through recently and did the barons quest and still had to fight the fiend after getting the coin. It's the real point of the "test" they're just sending you off to be killed.
@@jacobsampsonis7782 Ok, thanks. But in my previous playthroughs I never encountered it and just returned with the coin.
I think I encountered a few of those lines on the switch.
Replaying this since 2 weeks ago and i notice some of these dialogue options on vanilla steam version
Funny, i did the quest with the female Troll yesterday in Witcher 2 😂
Thank you
xLetalis will you never run out of things to find in the witcher 3?
Also I hope you're doing better now.
I hope not :)
And I hope so soon :)
Someone claimed the next gen version fixed that dialogue with Triss talking about Radovid's agent but it definitely was not there on my playthrough. Really should be though, it's a great line and shows the toll witch hunters are having on Triss.
I’m playing Witcher 3 again. It’s the 3rd time now and I’ve gotten everything done and doing hearts of stone before ugly baby and picking triss or yennefer. I thought I’d seen it all but there’s still a bunch of dialogue like with Birna that I didn’t know existed. It’s beating a dead horse I know but the game is amazing. All the little things they do. Like with Birna. Any other game they’d sentence her and that’d be that. But no you can actually go find her chained up. The other day I was doing the quest with the guy waiting for his betrothed in skellige but they crash etc etc. I loot a key and look out to see a sail poking out of the water and swim out and find jewellery im able to return to him. I never remember doing that the other 2 times I’ve played. It’s just cool.
This dialogue of Geralt saying to the avallach that he prefers to kill the gel's has existed since the last generation, I have the complete version on Xbox One physical media and I have seen this dialogue several times before the update 4.0 and 4.1 .
As I said in the beginning, I can only confirm that these dialogues are not there on PC, might be there on consoles
@@xLetalis I had that dialogue option appear on PC when I did the quest; I didn't choose it though, but I do distinctly remember having the dialogue option to suggest killing Ge'els
@@xPanda25 Yeah, same here, I had it on PC too.
A detail that is not related to today's topic:At the Hearts of Stone DLC,when in the auction with Vimme, before you go upstairs with him you can examine some artwork there. There is a Harry Potter reference, with Geralt saying "A Goblet of Fire".
