A dirt cheap video yet it is charming and fun! Proves you don't need big budgets to make a song come alive! Love Terry Hall being there too!! FB3 Forever!
His Voice is charming he makes it great Vocals likewise and their Music they did he's up there doesn't get alot of mention on many lists of surpreme vocalists of all time in Music's History of Pop/Rock
I want my MTV. NOT what ever the fck it is now. Steamboat Springs Colorado, February 1983, first ones on the lift on a cold morning. This song starts blasting out of the lodge. Totally awesome.
The nanas werent just some pop girl band, they have a fascinating history of music. Thier autobiography is wild, they knew and hung out with some incredible artists.
So we can research Google,Wikipedia and You Tube videos that u never see ever again on TV specially the rare hard to find stuff that don't play on our Screens or our Radio Stations like this Song to a degree and i guess be in nearly 40years old people's attention spans they don't get it or understand how awesome our 80s was
Michigan, 1982, I was nine years old and “Really Saying Something” was the first video I ever saw in my life when my cousin Ricky turned on this NEW channel called MTV! I vividly remember Siobhan’s twinkling eye at the start. 🤩 They’re still my all-time favorite.
Love this cheerful song from my early childhood so much! 'Eventhough' it was British; I simply adore it!❤🇬🇧 The '89 American version by the Velvelettes, wasn't even a quarter as good as this precious gem! Greetings from San Diego, CA 🇺🇸!
They were , Fun Boy Three repaid the favour of backing vocals because Bananarama did the backing vocals on “it ain’t what you do it’s the way that you do it “
I'm pretty sure it's not possible to have hair like that these days, because the sorts of spray required were banned in the 90s thanks to the hole in the ozone layer.
I think Bananarama are overlooked and under rated at times. They were an excellent pop group. Probably the same too for the Fun Boy Three. Bananarama had some amazing music out there.
This is great early MTV video cheese. The girls were fresh And tender though Terry Hall looks stoned out of his head ( probably was to get thru it). RIP in peace sir and long live Banarama!
Summer 1983, was only a wee lad not yet 11 but remember it well Eurythmics had their massive hit Sweet Dreams and Banarama I was already a fan of due to my sister and they had a fan base but they became massive with the two hits made with Fun Boy Three. Was no mistake this collaboration, girls, it likely brought in no end of male fans too.
RIP Terry. Love this song. I'm a fan of both Bananarama & Fun Boy Three for decades.
Who’s Terry ?
@@bradlafferty6076seriously?
The 80s was so bountiful - it provided everything, the clothes the hair, the style, the colors, the musical rhythms. I wish I could go back.
I'd leave tomorrow. Of course, I had some friends who never left the 80's. R.I.P.
A better time :)
Thanks for all the amazing tunes, Terry. You'll be remembered!
Cool song from the best decade ever the 80’s❤rip terry hall😢
The best decade was 1968-78
thissizza cover from a 1960z girl group
If only we realized how good we had it then... _hey wait_ - we did!
RIP Terry Hall. You will be sadly missed by your many many fans 🥰🌹
RIP Terry Hall. You brought Bananarama to the top

Thank goodness for RUclips the closest to a time machine
Haha thanks I'm not insane then
Jacob Perez...
... agreed, RUclips can be the closest thing to a time machine...
...and just as frustrating as a TARDIS...
So glad i grew up with these classics.
You are not kidding! This song is from 1981, almost 40 yrs old!

She's a Queen, still around and with her husband doing some amazing covers ❤
Everyone looks like they're having a genuinely good time in the video!
I actually bought one of their albums and had a crush on Siobhan... amazing how much more fun and diverse music was in those days
The diversity wasn't really IMPOSED back THEN either, .. . it just kind of happened naturally.
They were cool back then I dunno what happened 😂
Would've been even MORE divers if they'd had a ginger there instead of two blondies and a brunette.

Funny how diversity is forced on us by nazis nowadays, and the world is less diverse than ever.
Banarama and Fun Boy 3 being together, you cant beat that
Bananarama on the box tonight...I remember this out in the charts as a kid...
Classic pop tune and a talent to be missed RIP Terry!
Amazed that I'm still remembering most of the lyrics in August 2023, what a great song! ❤
There weren’t many
🌹 RIP Terry Hall, God rest your soul! 🌹🌹
I'm so bloody sad...legend Terry we will miss ya...thanks for all the great tunes
Me too.....but don't care if I never see Bananarama again....sorry......RIP Terry......you were real talent and will always be remembered for that 💔
Everything about this vibe is perfect
RIP TERRY HALL!♥️
Nice the boys took a back seat and let the girls have the limelight, I get the feeling they were good friends
They were , Fun Boy Three repaid the favour of backing vocals because Bananarama did the backing vocals on “it ain’t what you do it’s the way that you do it “
@@KittyCatFurbabiesMaria1972Pretty sure Bananarama also cameo at the end of the The Telephone Always Rings music video as well.

Terry hall um gênio musical que se partiu eu que sou dos anos 80 vou sentir sua falta
I always thought this would be the perfect roller rink song.
Used to go crazy over this song. Soooooo cool!!!
I"m CRYING RIGHT NOW!!!! TEARS OF JOY!!!!!
When music was still music Oh if i could go back.
Made my kids aware what a hugely iconic person was regarding Terry. One of the few people whose artistic output resulted in better lives for others.
Been reading Keren's and Sara's autobiography " Really Saying Something." A very good book.
Did Terry Hall nearly smile....might have been wind 😉
I see the link between Banarama and Absolutely Fabulous. Crazy fun.
I'm pretty sure it's not possible to have hair like that these days, because the sorts of spray required were banned in the 90s thanks to the hole in the ozone layer.
Urrrmm the whole in the ozone thanks to the sprays, fridges, freezers etc 🌏
That kind of hair in the video didn't actually require much hairspray, it was mostly back combed really hard. Used to do it myself.
It was a good idea to have your hair full of hair spray and hair gel; it stopped your hair blowing and sticking to your lip gloss.
There's only a ozone hole in winter time at either poles.
And isn't it magical that there are none above the major cities around the world?
Not just that, the hairspray would eventually melt your scalp off.
I had Bananarama poster's on my wall when I was a teenager, along with Madonna when she sang lucky star. Showing my age now 🤣
ok fun boy three jumped started BR - who went on to have the most 28 top 50 UK hits between 1982 - 2009 - so we love you fun boy 3
I ❤ Bananarama... And this period of their career is why.
Terry Hall- Rest in Peace :(

I had no idea this is a cover version of a Velvelettes' song!!!
Yeah, this is a remake of a Motown song----I like the beat---reminds of the Fun Boy Three's own The Lunatics Are Taking Over The Asylum, lol.
Like how the Fun Boy Three were their backing vocalists, lol.
That's good to know!
Rest in peace Terry
Terry looks thrilled.
Yes....while I was watching this video, I wanted to shout "Terry! Settle down! Get a grip on yourself!"
fashion in 1982 woooww
A lot more colourful than today.
this was not the fashion, it's just that Banannarama's videos were shit
Bop, bop shoo bee doo wah!!

Great song from a bygone era. You wouldn't see a man pinching a woman's bum in a music video these days.
I wish I was the fourth Fun Boy Three, coz' at this time, Keren was a huge crush.
I love that creaky percussion.
