Good review of an interesting car. Very fast, faster than my old Boxster S. Very good for a family car. Like the storage and square shape. Good idea to drive in Eco mode, and swap out as needed. Good to see another Ford that has potential, like the Puma.
1st time I have seen your channel and subscribed immediately Great review...just drove it and told us how it was in the real world Exactly what I want from a review
When you get to that £40K price tag you also are hit with the huge road fund licence charges. To me the idea of paying that kind of money for a car is bonkers anyway! May be an OK car if a company is paying but how many families can actually afford to go out and buy one?
5,57, the only horse power you need! Not from a few batteries...The cost of it is outrageous & the range is shocking, my 13yr old Passat diesel would easily beat this on range/mpg every time!!
Of course a diesel would beat it on range. Screw everyone else that has to breath the fumes that comes out of your tailpipe though right 👍 I don't disagree with you on the price though, way too much, especially as you can get a skoda on the same platform for 20 grand less.
@timscott3027 The fumes from it are pretty low, considering its age & is 100% working as it should. It will be greener to run than ev's, ie most electricity is from coal etc powered power stations producing electricity
@jamesarmitage8399 That's a common myth, roughly half of electricity in the uk is from renewables overall now, and even if you live somewhere where it's all coal or gas generators, when you sit down and crunch the numbers it is still better to run an EV Vs an old banger in terms of pollution. Even if it's a relatively clean car. And that's not even taking into account local air pollution from fumes. I don't think EVs are perfect or even for everyone just yet, and it will still be a lot cheaper to run the old car. I still have an old petrol that I will replace when i can afford too.
@timscott3027 Majority of ev's don't come close to cost/mpg equivalent for diesel vs ev's.....ends up costing more in charging charges not to mention time wasted on journeys
The fact it has the inner workings of VW, including the abysmal interface disqualifies it immediately for me. It is just a new suite, a shell, no thanks. If you're in for a VW though, get this one as it is the best looking VW EV to date ;-)
I don't trust VW executives to do the right thing, ever. That's why they ousted Herbert Diess and doubled down on cheating with their diesel emissions and constantly lobbying in politics and regulations to make the short term cheaper instead of investing enough in the medium-long term. **cough cough** TOYOTA!!! **cough cough**
£55,000 is an outrageous price, who are Ford kidding, not only that one would have to tolerate hideous Ford dealerships if one was to commit to this car! 😡😡😡
Yeh but no one is going to pay that price….who ever pays full price for a car, I never have, and I’ve been driving and buying cars for almost 40 years. That £55,00 model can quite easily be found for around £45,000 and the base model can be found for as little as £33,000. Plus you don’t have to use a dealership to buy a car -I might use the dealership for servicing, but you are never going to get the best deal from a dealer.
My wife and I are looking to upgrade from our Citroen E-C4... So we visited our local Ford showroom and saw in the flesh the Explorer and Capri. Both were around £48,000. So not base models and not top spec either. At best they were spacious... The interiors were basic scratchy plastic. The seats were average. All in all nothing confirmed the price list. Ok looking externally, reasonable range but certainly not inspiring. Certainly not an ounce of "luxury"....!
Yes, I wonder if Ford are still hedging their investment bets on EVs by expending only relatively small amounts on developing these vehicles.I think a lack of real quality is evident here .

Thank you for also including KM numbers. Liked and subscribed!!
Looks like Europe gets a mini version of the Explorer.

Exactly what I want from a review
Loving mine. Drives smooth and solid. Love the lock box but it’s not secret as you reviewers have told everyone lol😢
Love mine too (Grey- Premium with DAP and heat pump).
Good point you both raise about the usb- c dock in the not so “secret” front storage though!
It really is an odd thing. It's both handsome yet ugly and big yet small! It's also a Ford yet a VW.
A most curious car.
So the secure 'vault' of the car is behind one of the most expensive parts to replace. 😂
Crowbars up, guys..
What do people think about the "fashion" (?) for such large wheels? What are such large wheels for?
Ford don’t say this is a premium car. 😂 however, this is a good video.
They did at the product presentation to journalists ;)
@ must of got carried away. 😅The Mustang is supposed to be the premium one. Admittedly the Explorer has a better interior.
3:00 Loving the Dash and Storage!
Throwing plums out of the window on the motorway! 😂😂 That aside, please do more reviews with this fella!

And Eilis? 🤔

@@jamesarmitage8399 I never said they did. It depends if you can charge a home or not.
Difficult to click with a 35k car they charge you 55k for!
It is based on same platform as I’d.4, but has smaller trunk? Kinda weird? In particular when looking at the form, it should have a larger trunk

Looks nice but as its built on a VW chassis will it survive the current strike ?

Build in a Ford factory, so safe from VW shutdowns in theory, but potentially not from whatever is causing VW to struggle.

Looks good! Only thing I don't like is _most_ EV wheels, they are eyesores, I'd break out the Hammerite.
55k for a ford, wow

I recently saw 'stealerships' in place of dealerships, it sort of fits!
Most of them will be cheaper.
Kia and their EV9 is also a massive joke. £70k for a Kia.

Very first video of yours I fast forwarded, not good!
Sorry to hear that! What did I do differently this time?
I think we need a cut away to talk about your tats
I don't want to bore people more than I already do 😂
Go to your pub. Would you really park a Ford in a place where can be seen with? Sorry Ford. You are a solid bricklayer, plumber, so stay in your lane.
