No, B&O sound systems and “Bang & Olufsen” (B&O) sound systems refer to the same company. Bang & Olufsen is a high-end Danish audio brand renowned for premium audio quality, sophisticated design, and innovative sound technology in products ranging from speakers and soundbars to home audio systems. Often abbreviated as B&O, it is known for partnerships with luxury automotive brands and is popular in high-end consumer electronics.
Thank you for the review. I noticed the camera work looked as if you may have had help, and it worked better. In my family we would want this to tow and with 4WD for mild off road - eg towing out of a muddy field. Ford have done the best they can with VW’s MEB platform but the bits of VW UI/UX let things down. It would have to be a lot cheaper than any future Land Rover Discovery EV to cause us to switch. In Ford’s favour is a good dealer network here in the UK with one within ten miles of us.
Thanks Paul. Just me on the camera. When I have the car in Ireland I've some extra time for shooting. Thanks for noticing. AWD and towing is available up to 1200kg but with it's weight, a muddy field may be it's downfall
I hate the touch buttons on the wheel I hit them on my test drive when turning too easily , so I wonder if the new physical button id4 wheel will work since they seem to have the same functionality on them , it may just need a firmware upgrade
I'm a Motability customer and currently have the Vauxhall Grandland in the M-Hybrid model on a 24 plate. I have been looking at making the change to a all electric car when i am able to in 2027 and really like the design of the Ford Explorer. Both the darker blue and the red colours look sleek with the design of the car but my only concern is having the range to do journeys. ive read stories of having range anxiety and i feel i would have this. Is there anything that could be said to persuade me to make the convert to all electric?
Good review Derek See you at the show next weekend 👍
Thanks John. Looking forward to it

Thanks! They were mistaken given our to me in the past so (a commenter, not B&O 🤣)
Great review Derek, I have a test drive booked in the Explorer at the Nevo Electric Vehicle Show on Sunday and looking forward to it.
Having owned an ev for a year now.
77kwh cupra born.
I wouldn’t dream of buying something that size unless it had a minimum of 90kwh battery size.
Love the moveable display
A nice feature for sure
A bit pricey when you look at competition. But im sure Ford people will love it.
Thanks
Des
I think so too Des
great review,,see you at the nevo show....
Thanks Bernard.

Great video Derek. You never mentioned prices however!
Apologies, Select Trim around €43.5k and the premium trim I was driving was €48k

Is there 12v power socket in the front anywhere for plugging in a dashcam for example?
Ford should bring this vehicle to North America with an ICE and Hybrid powertrains as the New Ford Escape!
This guy must be super tall, or this new Explorer must be way smaller than gas powered Explorer.
It's way smaller, this one is slightly smaller in length to an ID.4 from VW
Well it’s probably a small improvement on the ID4, but in my eyes it’s all a bit meh. Still an expensive car (certainly in the UK) for what it is.
VW based that is why the charging port is right side rear.
Correct!
Still reckon the Škoda Enyaq is the best choice on this platform.
One of my favourites
What warranty is on this please?
Normal two years and eight years on the high voltage parts or 160.000km
@ Thkslovely car but warranty would turn me off
@@brianbyrne1982 it's pretty normal that a consumer thing only have two years :/ but you can buy a service agreement.
@ most German cars have 3,Tesla 4,Koreans 7,lovely car but two years is a bit scabby for me
@@brianbyrne1982Yeah it sucks :/ but I do wonder why suddenly Cupra changed their warranty to five years instead of two years on the new Tavascan 🤔
Well it is an ID.4 with a ford badge so similar.
Taxi driver pity, you can't get clear glass 😒
that is one ugly looking VW!
It's just another EV on the VW-Platform. From my PV the better ID.4😂
This looks better than the ID 4. It's not hard to look better than that car.
Much better looking than any of the VWs
@michaelsgaard9286 The ID3 looks really good innmy opinion.
