7 out of 10, personal and subjective rating of course. Overall, I think it is a good car, minus the low charging speed and some snags. But sure, a good EV 🙌
...test drove it a few days ago. Solid performance but nothing special and especially the buttons on the steering wheel, the wind noise and breaking feel appears to be very odd....🤷🏻♂️ 6/7 for me!
I think Ford did good on taking over the VW platform, which is a good one (especially regarding the efficiency). And I like the adjustable screen, that can serve as a hidden stach
They didn't take over the meb platform, just borrowed it from vw, because it's faster to make a Ford car with a platform that works very well. The Explorer is a cooperation car from both brands. But it's the fastest one in the class with the rwd engine 😊
Nope, the rear seat is not for anyone tall/6'4. You may fit back there for short drives across and around the city, but certainly not a place to be on long cross country trip. That lack of thigh support will certainly start to hurt after an hour or two. Also, the lack of thigh movement in the front seat means that at 6'4 (with a long femur) I can't be conformable in this car on road trips. As a daily commuter, it would probably be fine.
I’m looking forward to get the premium one in a few months. This car will suit well for Norway, living up north and with terrain here really need a good car. 😊 Thanks for your review.
@matthewtyler-jones8317 I have tried all MEB cars and when its adaptive its says its adaptive/auto and you can normally choose or set it to your desired amount of Regen. This has like my older Id3, just D and B where D is low Regen.
@@ItsOnlyElectric oh I see, so not all MEB cars have the auto braking mode? Mine I’d so good I rarely use the flappy paddles, only occasionally if I want a bit more regen going down a hill
I dont like the ID4, its ugly and not to my liking all around. This being built as an ID4, but in a different clothing, puts it up on a 5-6 star rating. I testdrove it back in july, it lies well on the road, but the price turned me away when comparing it to the Xpeng G6, which was what i ordered. I havent regretted that to this day :). Nice review as usual, thumbs up from here. Very informational.
It's just sad the mostly all the assistent systems have a lot bugs at the moment, but it's still a nice car the xpeng g6. My little sister bought the awd performance in white 😊
I think ford should stop trying to be like other companies and be their own and not try to out bead other companies in the ev market. Ford should keep the 20-24 explorer body style because it is the best franchise and everyone love it's look. Just like when ford remodeled the look of the 24 model, don't get me wrong it looks good but what sucks is the blue Cruise feature is just stupid because people don't see it but the self driving stuff is making everyone lazy and my opinion is that ford should stay gas powered and let the other companies go full ev so when people get to the point that they think we shouldn't have pushed companies to go full ev they have ford to turn to. I just hope ford doesn't go ev and stops production or slows it down and makes more gas powered
Agree on the explorer think. But if ford's stop selling and making EVs they will die within 10 years. They can't just sit and wait whilst everyone else develops and gains experience. I thi k thet should have built on the Mach e platform or used VW bigger meb+ platform to produce a SUVs that's more in line with the actual Explorer.
as long VW MEB platform does not use fysical buttons and stop using that touch crap and cheap look and feel I'm not touching it no more since my last VW EV the VW e-Golf back in 2019 that was also close to 48k€... I'm extremely happy with my current Renault Megane E-Tech Iconic and looking to the new Renault R5 - tech or the Alpine R5 290. They all look and feel super premium and have all fysical buttons.
The two main characteristics for a car to be a sales success are being beautiful and cheap. This Ford does not have any of these essential attributes, on the contrary, it is very ugly and very expensive.
Tastes differ. I think it's a cool car. Love the less is more design. I think a car like the EV3 is fancy and gay. The Explorer is not really more expensive than the Korean or, for example, a Scenic, so bullshit that it is overpriced. All reasons why I have one myself. If only because the Explorer is more powerful.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder 😊 I love mine (in grey). Only had it two days though (after having a weekend test drive) so we will see as time goes on. I got a premium, with driver assistance pack. 👍
What do you think about the #FordExplorer ? Rate it 1-10. 👇👇
Correction: Boot capacity is 450 not 525 liters.

@fragu123 good summary. It's just that, normal.
I think it looks nice! But I would never buy this one instead of the Enyaq which IMO is the best value SUV on the MEB

It's a smart move from Ford for sure. And I think it's the best, most appealing, alternative among the pack built on MEB.

Nice choice! Hope you get it soon.
I like th design of the Ford Explorer, especially in blue. But the tablet inside has way to big bezels.
Thicket bezels then the horizontal screens on the MEB platform. That's a bit strange
I would bet the instrument cluster "ears" you're fondling at 6:26 actually hold driver monitoring sensors.
No, don't think so, cause the other cars on the sne platform doesn't have any sensors in that area
D is not coast mode, it’s adaptive. The regen is stronger when approaching junctions and bends and stuff
Are you sure? It didn't adapt at all when tested
@@ItsOnlyElectric it does on my Skoda Enyaq. Use it pretty much all the time.

@matthewtyler-jones8317 exactly, it comes with the paddles that are included in some packages.
i will go for kia ev3

how much less for the xpeng?
Keep supporting the Chinese and see where we end up

How many midsize cars we need lol. Should have made a real 3 row like Explorer has always been and put some competition to Kia EV9.
They should had built it on MEB+ and built a lager SUV as you say.

Wow, and the dashboard on the so called Capri looks identical to this as do the door cards, seats, display, hauptic buttons etc etc etc…. Oh dear!
Boot 525 liter ?? Ford says 450.
Hmm you are totally right it's 450 as a max. Thanks for pointing that out!
The two main characteristics for a car to be a sales success are being beautiful and cheap. This Ford does not have any of these essential attributes, on the contrary, it is very ugly and very expensive.
Spot-on. And the forthcoming Capri is even more ugly, so I believe it does not have a chance.
Ahhh it is your opinion .... for me this is amanzing and beautifull
