I'm largely unsatisfied with this video. I hope its just me, hope its like creators perfectionism mentally or somethin and you guys still end up liking it. Игры
A for Andross?
pretty sure its Andrew the guy on wolfs squad (andross is probably it ya)
Jennietale EXTENDED I thought everyone already knew that it stands for andross I figured it out when I first played this game
Same here.
it stands for arssse
A is for *ASS* (JK)
If I recall correctly, the shooting star IS connected to the James McCloud ending. It was mentioned in a strategy guide forever ago.
I always assumed the A was for Andross. I feel certain that the spray painted appearance was intended to be literal, showing soldiers that switched sides, kind of like an American tank crew spraying a swastika on their hull if they wanted to defect in WWII. Andross has brought together aggressive and disaffected people from all over the Lylat system, some of them bringing their own hardware and spraying their allegiance into view with indelible krylon. I bet that if there had been modern style ground levels, we'd see pro-Andross grafiti everywhere.
Or could've been Andrew tagging everyone's stuff like a prick XD
I kinda interpreted it as stolen equipment, especially with the walking mech on Corneria.
@@SkulkHogan yeah, it's usually stolen equipment and illegal modifications.
@@JimBimBum wouldn't suprise me
I thought so to
I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed the shooting star at the end of the hard mode
Glad you put attention to it
Gonna correct you at 4:38, that's not actually the Walker from SF2 and SFZ, those are the Searcher III enemies that jumped between asteroids in the original Star Fox. (As the Japanese SF1 guide refers them to.) You can also see them on asteroids in the Sargasso mission of Assault.
Admittedly the model does resemble the Walker slightly, but I think the enemy itself was just something carried over from the first game.
Also, I am stunned at how much the CDF base resembles Pepper's tower in SFZ.

I'm a shitnerd when it comes to this kind of stuff, I know. :V
That shooting star fact was cool, Starfox 64 was probably my most played game as a kid, I would regularly play through looking for new secrets and chasing rumors (ahh the early days of the internet before data-mining), I beat that final level so many times trying to get to the end first, never noticed that "shooting star" or how it's exclusive to that ending. Awesome.
This game was my entire childhood. This is pretty cool.
The N64 games tend to be like I'm looking at 2D objects in a 3D game when moving the camera around.
These camera angles. Im gonna got throw up now.
@MortonGoldthwait yeah, I'm curious to know why the camera squashes and stretches everything if we don't play by the rules
Maybe the game use by default the FOV in a certain setting.
Nelson Urena Perez
If I had to guess, I would say it's a projection issue.
In really simple terms, when you render a 3D scene, every triangle has to be "projected" onto a 2D screen (your monitor or TV).
The triangles are twisted and deformed so that they look accurate from the camera's current perspective, and this is updated every frame.
Depending on how the camera hack BB uses works, it may be that it doesn't update the projection, so the scene looks horribly distorted when not viewed from the angle the game *thinks* the camera is at.
Think of it like one of those optical illusion drawings street artists sometimes do on pavements where it looks 3D from one angle, but skewed and stretched when you walk around it.
I agree with Richard and I think this video was made using the dolphin emu running a virtual console game, I got the same results doing that, and surely it's a dolphin and/or virtual console emulator problem, since the ingame graphics never look like that and when I used other kind of tool that exports the 3d environment of a gamestate it never deformed any object or visual. I can't remember the name of the tool, but as there're so few it should appear just by googling n64 3d tools.
SpoonyLionheart it's worse than a fisheye lens
Didn't know the perspective could get screwed so bad in this game. I don't remember it.
I know this is 9 months old, but I'm fairly sure it's because you're only actually meant to see the levels from one perspective, so they use lots of optical illusions to create more dynamic models.
It's a model illusion used in consoles in order to save up on the rendering space. The PS2 does it too.
One thing that actually happened, and I honestly think it will never happen again... I played this game on wii virtual console.. I'm not sure what I did differently, but during the ending cutscene, Star Fox's dad was flying upside down above Fox... (His ship was a bit more light blue)
I swear, I am not making this up.
You went to Katina and that was Bill
@maisaltyleftnut8138 yeah I know now thankfully, forgot I made this comment lol. I never saw it before that.
Im sorry but maybe this is due for a remake episode hopefully with better tools. I’m not sure of the work that goes into something like this so maybe it’s not possible
Call it "The Scottish planet" and "The Scottish mech"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
My brother and I always knew that shooting star was his dad. I remember the first time I ever saw it and told him and it blew his mind. Good days...
Why do N64 games look warped when you move the camera? Also, why are camera angles tilted in other games?
I'd say it's because Star Fox games are usually played from specific perspective and things have to make a good optical illusion. Or maybe he's using software rendering. Hard to tell.
Paper Mario had the same thing.
Fov, probably
Extreme FOV doesn't cause this.
inakilbss paper Mario was like that because the whole game is 2d with no 3D objects
Awesome, I never noticed the symbolic shooting star at the end of the game before. I wonder if it's in the 3DS version too.
A=Andross
Alberto Marcillo
OH SHIIIIIIIIIIII-
"20,000 views was nuts - I don't expect that to happen again."
lol
I love this game and with that this game and the snes one were a big part of my childhood along with classic Mario and Zelda. Thanks for this dear sir and have a great night.
Are my eyes deceiving me or is that a giant Fox state behind you there? Would love to get one for myself if that's the case. Also love that game, it's my childhood. I remember doing loopings to crash backwards into buildings to mess up the camera, or loop during a boss Intro to mess it up too and stretch the boundaries. You're doing great work by showing us those different camera angles. Subscribed!
I never noticed the shooting star in the ending before! Thanks for pointing it out. Wonder if the 3DS version has it.
Beau Walker didn’t see it
I'm surprised no one found the chicken walker before this. Nice job!
7:11 The war really took a toll on him.
That introduction is pure gold!
100% remember seeing that shooting star as a kid. that's awesome you spotted it.
"Saved State to C:/Users/Derreck/Documents/Dolphin Emulator/StateSaves/NADE01.s05"
Smart of you to do that for multiple easy filming opportunities.
8:44 WHERE DID HE GET THAT FOX MCCLOUD FIGURE FROM
I think it's this thing from GameStop: www.gamestop.com/collectibles/toys/star-fox-limited-edition-fox-mccloud-stone-statue-only-at-gamestop/126573
- Mcfat - when I click that timecode it takes me to the smash bros leftovers
- Mcfat - this video isn't even 8:44 seconds long
Great Question!
Ive been wanting to see stuff like this since I was a kid! thank you.
So that's what it's like to look through the 4th dimension.
awesome video! I'd love to see a boundary break on Luigi's mansion next
Sitting here watching this in my favorite Arwing shirt. Need more Starfox.
So a Roman walks into a bar, holds up 2 fingers and says "I'll take five".
Will you be doing a video on *Star Fox Adventures* , and *Star Fox Assault* ?
Great video. Just subbed. I like the boundaries videos. I also love Star Fox Zero. I am so sick of haters opinions.
2:00 in, i cant finish this video, angles are giving me a headache. Kudos to you for toughing it out to make this episode
I am with you, man. That thing does look like a Walker.
I'd love to see better how it looks on the 3DS version.
Looks like the FOV cone is separate from the camera
Oh, is that what's going on in the video? Huh...
Rob55Rod AKA Splitwirez Impossible to say for sure, but it does look like it..
Patrick Richmond Oh...huh.
I'd say so as well. It's like you can move the camera, but the perspective still draws relative to the camera's original position, leading to some really messed up visuals.
***** Yeah, it kinda reminds me of what happens when viewing a 3D Ripper DX capture in Blender...
...anyone here even know what 3D Ripper DX is? .-.
I absolutely loved this, but a lot is missing that would be cool to see different angles of, like more of the levels and especially Andross.
I still rank in the top 100 scores ever for this game worldwide. And this is without using the madcats controller lock button feature. It's was all rapid thumb mashing the fire button.
watching them in order (mostly) and I really hope either star fox is the only one with vomit warping or you find a way to make it stop.
HOLY SHIT! I knew I saw that same shooting star but I couldn't find anywhere on the internet that talked about it.
That was the chicken walker! :D The chicken walker was based on some enemy from StarFox 1 in turn Ithink. Really though, StarFox 2 was extremely fun for me, shame it wasn't released..
6:54 Actually, I heard about the shooting star on starfox.wikia.com/wiki/James_McCloud
you should have boundry break the tunnels for Andross. especially the ending. It felt like the tunnels were flipped and I don't see how going straight away from the boss you some how still able to run into the fire as if you took a U turn.
Hmm...how is the camera freely movable on a Nintendo 64 game? The only thing I could come up with is having the Wii Virtual Console versions loaded into Dolphin, the only emulator that lets you do this! (More emulators should DO this!)
I learned some things that not even I knew about before.
>Telling people to play a Star Fox game that _isn't_ 64
DansGame
Fox Mccloud is a shamless self promoter
>greentexting outside of mongolian screenplay image boards
>replying 3 months late
anyone else twisting your neck like an idiot at your work desk trying to view things right??
I wish some better images of the Wolfen II existed.
Man, where'd you get that shirt? So jealous :P I'd actually legit wanna buy it :D
That vid was pretty mindblowing tho, nice work even with the wonky camera :P
Thanks david! Red bubble ought to have it in stock still. if not, google will find it for you if you type "A Link to the Future shirt"
Oh man, I think I found it, and they got tank tops and sweaters and IPad cases and everything o_0 Just not sure if it has the "Do a barrel roll" on the inside XD
Shesez Awh yeah
My homie reppin Red Bubble
I'm here for the Starfox Metahumor. You should do a reevery visit on this game, same with Banjo kazooie/tooie. And blastcorps
5:48 he just manipulated himself like Andross does
BTW Do you use Dolphin with the Freecam option + Wii VC to do this or something else?
Does Andross final form exist during the head battle? Like is the head just a mask?
That field of view, whoa.
My apologies if someone already answered this before but, what software are you using to go out of bounds in the Nintendo 64 games? I'd really
like to play around with the software and try it out on other obscure N64 titles that have yet to be reviewed.
THAT SHIRT IS AMAZING
DO A BARREL ROLL
the letters on the bosses are from the path you took?
I believe they stand for Andross
This show is so great!
You should do a boundary break of a game called Epic Mickey.
I don't know what you'll find, but hey, there's a lot to look at in that game
Love the old vids, sucks they're not being suggested right now
Wasn't there an option in the game that lets you pause without the menu? I could've sworn there was.
What's up with the DOOM like perspective warp when you change the camera angle?
Okay so it's not just Kirby's Dream Collection on Dolphin that has a funky N64 freelook camera. N64 games are just bizarre.
mario hoops 3 on 3 is a good game deserving of a boundary break episode
This channel is insanity. OMG THE BACK OF THE DOOR HAS A TEXTURE
Johnnymushio XD
Johnnymushio *THIS MAN WITH GLASSES DOES **_INDEED_** HAVE EYES!* HOW ASTOUNDING!
i WAiTED SO LONG FOR THIS!!! THANKS!!!
If you don't mind me asking how did you play it in hd and make it look so good?
whaere is the shooting star?
I have that plush from the intro.
That camera is going to make me barf. Weird that the fov changes like that
The camera is funky because the game uses (if I am not mistaken) two-point perspective.
Or maybe the FOV perspective is fixed in a position relative to the arwing in a 3-point perspective.
Why is this game so dark in this video?
Thing is though when you do play n64 games on emulators the 2d elements arent rendered well and that why you see really blurry pictures when it is supposed to be clear
I'm sorry, but when I had the captions on General Pepper said "Ah fuck we are in your day.." 6:43 xD
What tool(s) did you use to make the freecam work? I'd love to try this for myself!
This was epic. What does it take for you to check out a game? This has made me think of several prospects
Hey how about cruising world or cruising exótica 64 ?
The shooting star 🥹
love it! can't wait to see more
how bad I'd love to see one of these boundary breaks with Star Fox Assault or Adeventures D:
Really hope Mario party 2-3 are in your future!
It certaintly is!
Sweetness! Keep being awesome!
u did good with res 4 I gotta say
1:03 technically its not a "secret" third level, its the real third level. thats the way to get to the real ending
killer intro
Is it just me or does the face at 6:17 look like the Tails Doll from Sonic R?
so at the tank level, can you go back up to the ship or what? xD
landmaster*
i couldn't see the shooting star...
ikr
KitsonHeart at 6:09, in the middle of those 2 blue dots, there is another blue dot (shooting star or James McCloud) moving to the right
It moved so fast you couldn't keep up
Erick Zurita it's a star that's moving. That's what everyone forgets about a shooting star and they expect it to be yellow 😂
omg I want that shirt
Can you boundary break all the gamecube games
Does the N64 use a software render?
Hey can you do a fire watch boundary break
Some real technical issues on the camera with this one! Did you ever figure out why it's slanted so heavily? It might have to do with the angle the player views things at given you fly through/past these models and scenery. Next video!
It was a glitch in emulation unfortunately
As we now know, Putin is a big StarFox 64 Fan with alot of background knowledge
*Z*
Yeah that's the chicken walker
I didn't get the macbeth joke in 1:20 😅😅
Hey Pat, can you um **ZZZZZIP** can you get *THIS* in here real quick
can you do super Mario strikers
lol the intro is funny (fox plush XD)
ikr
XD
wait do a reply but do it like this add these symbols "
"why?"
I miss the well done intros :(
