I already had an adjuster come out and emailed an itemized estimate (already approved by insurance), I think it's a lowball offer. What should be my next step in making sure I get a more "real estimate" with the insurance approving it? Also, what happens if you receive the insurance funds( haven't yet) and the amount is not enough to cover the damage? Is a contractor's estimate able to get the insurance to pay out more?
@@chanlierlatoya I would try getting contractor to give you estimate. If not a big difference then yes see if they will pay it. If it's a large difference, like over 10k you will have to explore other options like appraisal, lawsuit, etc ..
Is the last part about asking for an adjuster with authority to make a coverage determination beneficial from the viewpoint that anyone without authority can't provide reliable opinions on the claim amount?
@@Shawn-zg6ok if the person who has authority to make a coverage determination not coming to your property are they really trying to help you? Would you want a doctor who can't help you with your cancer treating you?
