This is the second prep AT video I have had the pleasure to watch. You are so open about yourself. I just finish watching second after AT video with you hood friend Leffe where he interviewed you. It was delightful & fun to witness. Stella you are a curiosity for me. I enjoy you art as a vloger and I will look forward to watching more new vlogs from you. Keep stepping forward. ❤
Brave, powerful, and perseverant would be words that I would use. I've watched and loved much of the PCT and CDT expeditions. Totally amazing adventures and I am excited that you will take us along for the next! I hope you have a beautiful journey!
I also have one word to describe you: inspirational. I don't know you personally, but these glimpses into your hikes and your life make me smile and provide me just a little extra impetus to get off my butt and on the trail. Thank you, and happy trails.
Hey Stella, I love how cheerful your recorded persona is. That cheerfulness makes it really fun to walk along with you in your videos. I'm also noticing you've experienced (and probably still experience) at least two significant losses, your father and ex-husband. You share these things, and I perceived that you then responded with a lot of cheerfulness or a quick distraction. Those two losses don't seem especially cheerful to me. I want to tell you that I took a moment to acknowledge those losses, and the ways they'll always affect your life. It was really kind of you to share those things about yourself, it's humanized you in a new way.
I live in Virginia and do section hikes of the AT here in the Mountain lake area. I have done the "Triple Crown " of the Elliot Valley ( 70 years old ). I'm 76 years old, born in the mountains and have hiked for years and love photography. I see the glem in your eyes for hiking and loving the Mountains.I usually pick out a few to follow on RUclips AT thru hike. I was very wise on my choice of you. I hope to do some Trail Magic there at Mountain lake at about the end of March, first of April . My health will keep me off my annual AT hike this year but I hope to meet hikers heading north for their journey. Just keep that beautiful smile and the heart to to hike. My pleasure to follow you on your journey..
Stella, you are sooo bubbly, beautiful, & your smile & spirit resonates such great positive energy! I will definitely be “couch hiking” along with you! Stay safe & God bless!😊❤️🙏🏾
quite an interesting story, your positivity and appreciation for nature and beauty comes through, thank you for reminding me about the impact that great teachers/mentors can have!
I have wondered across your through hike attempt. Makes me feel good to see your updates and to see your joy of hiking and growing. Again, you're a good trail ambassador. Martin hunley- The Edge.
Thank you for sharing, the one thing I learned about hiking is that you really find out who you are. I enjoy your videos and wish you the best of luck. I'm looking forward to watching your adventure.
You can tell you’re still trying to find yourself .. which is cool. I like that your doing it while hiking. Good place/opportunity to think through things.
Loved getting to know you better!!! It's going to be awesome getting to follow you down the AT. You seem like the most kind gentle soul. I'll be out here on the NC east coast cheering you on!! #teamstella
Stella I’ve been watching your videos for quite a while and you’re a very interesting young lady. Keep up the good work…………….oh I forgot to say your beautiful
Stella, so glad to be back. I followed you on your PCT and CDT! You are a determined young woman. Interesting idea about helping others with hiking And backpacking. Looking forward to see how that idea develops. Stay safe and healthy. 🥾🥾🥾🥾
Hi. When I saw that you were doing the AT the other day . My first thought was Triple crown. We'll be here to cheer you on. Caught up on your newest post, Enjoy your monday. I know we are getting a storm up here in NH I hope you have good weather🌲👍
You would love living in Asheville North Carolina I lived there for years and years these people are very nice and friendly plenty of places to hike as you know it is an artist town a lot of great restaurants I miss living in Asheville all my best Ramon
Nice About video while climbing...I'm just north of Asheville and we have lots of beautiful trails in this area...I'm out almost every weekend somewhere section hiking...I'm following a few starting their AT journey and always looking to see how they are handling the struggles...So in your case I will be looking to see how many miles is this girl going to knock out today...You are obviously so prepared for this and can't wait to follow along...
Watched your CDT videos last year and then lost ya. Glad to see you are doing the A.T. this year. I work down in Brevard county schools so trying to figure out how to get a leave so I can do the trail next year. Best of luck to you!
Those are Rhododendron but most people refer to them as Mountain Laurel which is one type of rhododendron. Given that it grows throughout the south and mid Atlantic you will see it bloom at some point in your hike.
It was lovely to hear about the the influence your teachers and mentors, especially in leading you to teach. Does your basketball coach know how far you've taken your backpacking? I'm looking forward to reading your poetry!
Oh wow I’ve been watching you all this time and thought you were about 20! We’re the same age! And I’m also divorced! Lol. I think about through hiking one of these trails all the time but I have a dog and an apartment full of stuff and have no idea how I could ever do it (or afford it) at this point in my life. I really wonder how you make this work? I feel like if you’re young and still live with your parents it would be so much easier but when I see people my age doing it I really wonder how they figure it out.
Yes, thank you, can you do a video for women in topics related to safety? How to hike alone, did you ever feel afraid? How did you overcome that? Have you encountered weird men while hiking alone? Etc etc... How was your first hike alone?
Asheville is amazing, but so is Colorado :) Jennifer Pharr Davis has a guiding company in Asheville, with many guides who work for her. Just one possible income source. Thanks for sharing your story.
Hi Stella. Would never in a million years would I have guessed u were from Greeley Go UNC Bears. Class 75. Loved it there. Really loved the this video. Looking forward to the “the hike”. Still watching ur Glacier/CDT adventure. From Fruita Co take good care. Oh, and I thought ur ex was military
The night, still, no restless stirrings, Nor of love, or breathless fury, Blue starlight pale, does strike before me, feared lonely trail. And whose wolves are these, saints come calling, Swim incensed, laughter, voices mocking, Can you hear them, there, cries gentle waves, or were you listening.
Try to hit Black Balsam Knob off of the parkway while in asheville. Hike out to shining roach and back. Hopefully I can get you some trail magic at the Fontana Hilton.
Lol I was gonna ask if people tell her how young she looks all the time. I honestly wouldve guessed about 24, and not one of those err on the side of caution so as not to offend someone guesses either, but real Vegas over/under odds bets kinda guesses....
Asheville would be a great place for you to live,: College Town, lots Art and Culture, beautiful Downtown that was saved from Urban Renewal since they couldn't afford to tear the buildings down and now it's revitalized. Great Food and Craft Beer, plus you still get 3 seasons but not much snow and cooler than the coast in the summer. Parents moved there 30 years ago and watched the city blossum.
Do you hike alone? As a woman aren't you afraid, can you talk about that? ..... To be honest I'm afraid of being by myself in any woody area (even a city park that has hidden bushes etc) because I expect weird men, even some normal men who see the opportunity! I have been sexually attacked twice in the city (US)! Day time between 1-4pm, in a busy neighborhood.... Also while riding my bike men have followed me, tried to touch me by putting their hand outside a moving car, and so much more etc etc...... I cannot phantom the idea of being alone as a woman in the woods, there are NO CAMERAS! Men could be lurking in there searching for an opportunity, or someone can even push you off a cliff because they know there are no witnesses or cameras. In high school I attended a hiking class where we in a group stayed near Yosemite areas for 11 days... A decade later one of the teachers, an expert was found dead, he used to hike by himself and fell, if you get injured who is there to assist?....... I used to feel safe everywhere and I have the same courage as men, always felt free and courageous but as I got older I had to accept that the way I see myself is not how men see me. Women could easily befriend strangers on the road or hope to hitchhike etc we see how men do things and we want to do the same, and of course the world is for everyone to enjoy, it's not just for men but I had to accept that as a society we are not there yet, dangers do exist and inequality persists. The truth is that MEN doing those same things alone are rarely a target for sexual attacks. Men don't have to fear that, but us women do. Men might be afraid of getting their wallet stolen but a woman that also gets the wallet stolen will also be the target of a sexual attack is she finds herself alone with an assailant. ....Men hiking alone don't have to worry about sexual abuse or fearing encountering a woman who follows them etc etc , Also beware of weird men tracking you from your videos, you are exposing yourself and locations. So as much as I would love to be "happy go lucky" and just grab my backpack and hike it out in my shorts with hot weather, truth is I'm REALLY afraid. Just as people worry about finding a bear on their path, as a woman is two worries, first a man crossing my path and then a bear. *So What advice do you have for other women who want to hike like you?*
As man, who has no interest in hurting, attacking women, I empathize with you. It’s a dam shame there are assholes out there. However, there A LOT more good people than bad. My experience has shown me “remote” trails have a majority of good people. Fear can be consuming if you let it. Joy is abundant when you find it and let it in. I truly hope you find peace and make out to the mountains for long hikes. ❤
Seems like you are trying to find yourself. I found that life is better when I concentrate on Physical, Financial, and Intellectual goals, and you have to do these activities your entire life. Life is better when you are physically fit. Life is better when you are financially secure. Life is better when you have the skills and capabilities to handle life's problems. Your lifestyle has physical & intellectual down. You need to work on financial, maybe put your math skills to use with Compound Interest. People that become financially successful have multiple streams of income. Earned Income (Job), Dividend Income (Stocks, REITS, Closed End Funds)), Interest Income(CD's, Bonds, Money Markets), Business Income (RUclips, Other Business), Royalty Income (Copyrights, Patents)

You’re one honest interesting person …
The night, still,
no restless stirrings,
Nor of love,
or breathless fury,
Blue starlight pale,
does strike before me,
feared lonely trail.
And whose wolves are these,
saints come calling,
Swim incensed,
laughter, voices mocking,
Can you hear them,
there, cries gentle waves,
or were you listening.
Greeley is awesome. We stayed there for a little. Coolieo.
Try to hit Black Balsam Knob off of the parkway while in asheville. Hike out to shining roach and back. Hopefully I can get you some trail magic at the Fontana Hilton.
Shining Rock…..
I didn't know you were 32. I thought for sure you were in your 20s.

For your glasses: use little cut to size mole skin, works for me.

'The long green tunnel' . . .
You are such a interesting person. You certainly do not look as old as your biographical experience!
Perhaps you can make a career out of hiking/ outdoors

Ever thought about growing up, getting a job and making a living?
Unbelievably rude! Why even watch?
@@dcaudwell trust me the first and last time.
Do you mean like Amerigo Vespucci, or Lewis and Clark, or Kit Carson, or Daniel Boone… Just wondering.
Ever thought about, “if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all?”
Sounds like someone is jealous.
