Just wanted to tell you that your vlogs were the beginning of so many great changes in my life. I had been on disability for PTSD for 5 years and was miserable. I felt like life was passing me by and my fears ruled my life. One day your thru hike popped up on my feed and I followed along your hike. I asked my parents if they would watch my dogs to see if I could give it a try in 2022 and they agreed. Although I only made it 200 miles last year due to severe IT band syndrome and the PTSD, there was something so significant about experiencing the terror nightly and yet walking forward the next day. That experience and the kindness I experienced on trail gave me the courage to try it in real life. In September I started my first FT job in 5 years in special education. Through the anxiety, I kept moving forward. I plan to do a SOBO thru hike this year. I believe the lessons I've learned and the courage I've gained along the way will see me through. THANK YOU for all your hard work that went into sharing your journey. It led me to the first step in mine.
That's so nice to here. Thank you for sharing!! Congrats on the first FT job and best of luck in everything in your future. The trails have helped me in my life too. Hiking is good for the soul.
@@LemireCassie nope, going solo again. But I know I am not alone out there. They trail provided me with wonderful people last year and I am confident it will again. Thanks for your encouragement!
You are the first video I watch of the AT and have just confirmed in my head that at 65 when I retire this is going to be my first adventure in starting March of 2028. Thank you for this video and now I need to watch many more and start planning and getting mentally prepared. After finishing the AT I will start building my Van to travel North and South America.
I hope it all comes to fruition for you. It is a dream I fancy that I would be able to do one if the three crowns in America. Sadly I am very unwell and know I wouldn't medically be able to do it. So I dream and watch through others. I am being greedy but if you have a channel or plan to make videos please let me know so I can enjoy it with you.

I just found your video of hiking the AT in 120 days. I really enjoyed it. I hiked the AT in 2005. I had a 4 month interval in which I had to complete my hike. I was 62 a marathon runner with no previous hiking experience. I ended up in the hospital 4 different times with poison ivy, cellulitis, MRSA and anemia. I actually got admitted to the hospital with cellulitis. Family issues have eliminated the possibility of any hiking after the AT. I am now 80 and have returned to running. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of your videos.
Hey Taylor! Ruschhour and Fiddle Head here. We thru-hiked back in 2006, and really enjoyed watching your full documentary! Your video brought back tons of memories from our own journey from GA--->ME. Your documentary might have just planted the seed for a 2026 (20-year anniversary) thru-hike for our family. 🙂
Just wanted to tell you your documentary was the first Appalachian trail documentary I watched and was the documentary that inspired me to take action,I’m starting the trail in march 2026
Rewatching about a year after you made this and having just done a simple 2-day hiking loop of the Whites in this insane '23 wet, wet, wet summer season. Found myself thinking of your videos a lot being in NH and wanted to be sure you get credit for motivating people to get out and check it all out. (Your regular vlogs are even more responsible for that. If you ever have thoughts people aren't being motivated by you, they are!) Here is some more reassurance that your '23 AT hike decisions were so smart. Especially as they are your stomping grounds and YOU KNOW. This edit is special to the entire AT community, across years, and years to come. Go you!!
"I was awake every 30 minutes changing my sleeping position" I love hearing you go through the same exact problems I had, the memories are really flooding in (cries in happy)
Cody seemed to be the best person to team with. He had such an easy going fun excellent attitude in the journey. The partners need to be balanced for such an expedition.
Wow. You made the entire hike look easy and fun, despite the harder parts. Your miles per day were incredible!! Again, no hardship ever appeared on your face! Great, great job documenting each portion of the trail. Thank you very much for sharing all of this with us!
Todays date 9/2/23, Just watched your whole documentary. Wow! I plan on attempting the nobo route April 2024 and turning 53 on it. Researching now, I had NO idea of the planning that goes into this. My great friend who is an avid outdoorsman, has told me this hike will change a person forever. I'm sure it did for you as well. Lots of great tips in your video, us newbies thank you. Will plan a few small short hikes in NC before then, then off to GA. Congrats to you and all the others who have completed this incredible adventure of endurance. Well done Lady, well done...
As a videographer and editor, I'm almost just as impressed that you put all of this footage in a timeline and actually went through with editing it all lmao. I have a three month trip in France that I have been working on for over a year very very slowly
Taylor, I just watched your documentary from beginning to end. It is absolutely wonderful. I just cannot believe the work and effort that you put into making it. I followed you on your thru hike and enjoyed your videos so much but this was even better. Thank you for the time and effort that you put into it. You are fantastic!
Hello… I just hiked the AT this year and loved it. I stayed at many hostels, hotels, motels and camped quite a bit as well. I loved the way I chose to complete the AT, it allowed me to enjoy the trail and the community.
I really enjoyed your documentary! I have Epilepsy which has hindered pretty much everything in my life. This September I have an appointment with my Neurologist who (I'm hoping) will clear me for a thru-hike! I've never hiked, but if all goes as planned, I'll be part of the Class of 2025 💜 Thank you for sharing your inspiring journey, and I look forward to seeing more of your content. 🥂
I recently met you at your shop when I was on my way to Acadia… you are a wonderful person and can’t wait to watch the video!!! Keep up the beautiful work you do!
I’m really enjoying your video journey vicariously. When I graduated from high school in 1974 my goal in the yearbook was to hike the AT, but I never have more than just segments. The longest was from Caledonia State Park, PA to Harper’s Ferry, WV. In fact I was on the AT when President Nixon resigned. It’s amazing the infrastructure that has developed to support the AT through hikers since then and how you can stay connected with phones, etc. to family and the outside world…
This documentary made me so emotional. So insanely inspiring! Im going to do this one day 🩷 thank you for sharing and I'm so incredibly proud of you!!!
Great Documentary, In 82 at age 24 I did the first 300 miles over the summer, Hiking on weekends, totally unprepared for the AT even though I had hiked 1000 miles of Wisconsin and Michigan the year prior. The AT will make a hiker out of you or it will break you, I still hike when I can I now live 20 miles from the Maryland section and have thought about the 4 state hike as a saturday adventure.
I saw the lengh of the vt, and thought i'd probably watch half of it, and get bored. Not a bit of it. You're very engaging, and have a good editor too. Good job, to all concerned, not least the landscapes ya went through.
NH girl here! Much appreciate the video! I’m very excited to one day complete the AT. I would love to leave tomorrow but, life and all. Until then I’ll continue living through you. Much love girl.
Congratulations on your achievement! I remember following you in 2020 and worrying about your difficult pre-Covid decisions. I'm glad you ultimately decided to leave the trail then; even happier that you didn't let that stop you from returning.
Thank you for bringing back many fond memories of my 2004 thru hike. Almost 20 years later and I still have trail flash-backs. You can leave the trail but it never leaves you... LWOP Ga-Me2004 Thanks for all the hard work you put into this wonderful documentary.
I had to watch this a second time. I really enjoyed watching your through hikes. I didn’t find your channel until 2023 but have been following ever since. It’s amazing you’ve done this numerous times.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for this most amazing adventure. Have never done a hike like this before, but I completely identify ... because my "adventure" akin to this were my two cross-country bicycle rides (first one back in 1993 and then a second time in 1999). Totally different in so many ways, but so totally akin to your trek. All I can say is, "Three cheers, Taylor! You are a true hero!" This chronicle of your trek was one of the most fun experiences I've ever enjoyed, following your trail posts, reading your comments, and cheering you on. Well done. If you ever get to Ridgefield, CT, please look us up ... I'm Al, my wife is Jan ... and together, we are the only Galletly family (to the best of my knowledge) in Connecticut. Again, thank you for sharing your incredible adventure with all of us. It's been a real joy "being with you." xoxo
My wife and I love to hike. But one of my dreams/ bucket lists is to hike this trail, or just sections of it. This video is great for hiking it without actually hiking it.😂. Edit: You're so blessed! You have loved ones that cared and supported you.
Planning and preparing for a thruhike with My sister in April. This video helps Me whenever I get discouraged in our planning. It's like staring down a mountain I haven't even faced yet. Just wanted to say , Thank You for posting this.
Wish I could watch live but I will be working as it’ll be 10 AM Thursday when it launches. Can’t wait to watch after work tomorrow. I watched every single one of your daily vlogs last year when you hiked over my morning coffee.
this is the most fascinating video i’ve ever watched like it actually makes me emotional. i grew up in a completely different environment than this and didn’t even know that people do things like this. i’m so proud of you and so excited to hopefully do this at some point too!!
I enjoyed following your adventures on the AT last year and enjoyed this recap, too. You did a great job with this video. You and Cody each found the most perfect hiking partner.
Thank you for taking us along Taylor. Such a beautiful adventure you went on and completed 🙌 As a former Vermonter now living in N.C. just south of Franklin near the GA border in the mountains I know the beauty of the northern and southern Appalachians and loved this!!! I almost planned a thru hike back to N.E. in 2017 but the realization of all the planning, financially and keeping life's balance and a bad knee kept me from taking the nearly 2200 mile leap. I am very happy you did it and proud of you as it's many a true hikers and outdoors person achievement. Congrats and thanks again for taking me on the adventure I couldn't put together. John.
Just did a 2day/2night hike (35miles) in the Belgian Ardennes forests, couldn't walk for 3 days because of an overburdened (bad prep, 8h of nighthiking and heavy equipment), so mad respect for you! If i have the money, time and physique one day, I hope seeing the AT in person! Loved the video!
This was awesome! I was in tears with you at the end. You were the first thru hiker I started watching back in 2020 and followed you all the way through. Now I’m still watching thru hikers and getting myself out more (I’m in western Maine).
app-u-latch-un!!!! I live like 4 miles from the station at 19E. great video. it's so cool to watch people do it especially as I'm not physically able!!! thank you from the bottom of my heart
How are you always happy and your hair never looks greasy?? 🤣 Surely you had some rough days. I head out next year. I've had this dream for 25 years and will start on my 57th birthday. I loved this video so much, thank you!
Just watched your video "Connecting My Footsteps" from 7 months ago. I am so proud of you Taylor. When I made my comment before I did not realize that you DID already do my suggestion about returning to Virginia to officially finish the AT by hiking the missed section of trail. I could see in your eyes that it must have been a great feeling especially when you consider the fact that you drove down there 13 hours and back. Also, you did it "within the year" anniversary. I live in New Hampshire too and have my 4k certificate completed in 1992 and again in 2002. Hiked the AT from Hanover to Errol and stayed at all the AMC huts. Greenleaf on Lafayette is the only one not right on the AT. Subscribed now and catching up on all of your videos. Many memories.
Back some thirty years ago…. I walked the Pennsylvania section in nine days ….. and ever since then I have wanted to do the entire length . Something always comes up that prevents me from doing it. But I am the closest now than ever before….. was scheduling myself to do it in two years. After watching your video……. I think I am going to shoot for next spring 2024. Time is running out…. I’m going to have to bite the bullet on this one…….. Bills 💵, the job… and wives have always gotten in the way. Break away seems to be the only solution in order to accomplish this once in a lifetime opportunity. Thank you for sharing your experience with all of us. May God always bless you. 🙏🏽
The Finish Line....Mt Katahdin. (Clap Clap) In the 1970's I read about people doing the AT. It seemed a Fantasy. At that time there were only a few hundred people that had done it. Good to see you live your Dream. Great trip, thanks for the ride. Yesteryear: A week in Baxter state park, My friend Dave and I climbed Mt Katahdin in 1979 or 1980. Moose everywhere, stayed on a small Island (by Canoe) on a pond, and had an Awesome time. I sure times have changed. Millinocket was a "one horse town"--I remember one General store and that was "IT". Everything seemed so Green and Clean...I'll have to break out my old pictures. Again, good video trip... 5 STARS! --Van P.S. My brother lives in NH--small world
this is one of the best youtube videos I have ever accidentally stumbled upon I watched the entire thing. I wish there was more lol congrats! You seem like such a cool human! Also congrats on the house, i hope your dog ended up being okay, and thats a lot of italian food meal packs you slammed. I love it!
Can't wait to watch this all the way through at least once. I followed you all the way last year and really miss you and Cody this year. Am following a couple people this year but it just isn't the same as you two last year. Am hoping the future holds some more thru hikes for you and hope Cody goes as well, also the Chet for sharing you with all of us last year, some this year and in the future. Best of luck in all you do. Take Care and Be Safe God Bless
It took me all day to watch this. Your journey was epic and inspiring as you experienced not only the beauty of the trail, but the hardship AND friendship many desire. I followed you through your hike but this put the highlights that meant a lot to you personally. Thank you Taylor, and stretch, for being an inspiration to this later in life section hiker!
I laughed so hard at the end! We didn’t climb the fire tower… of course, there were no stairs! You and the tramily are pure entertainment! Loved the bear can scene as well!
This video has been very helpful and amazing to watch! I've been considering doing this trail myself and watching this video helps my decision!! I'm proud of you for taking the time to document and express concerns and conditions of the trails as well as mentioning the relief of your parents taking your bag for the day it can definitely make a difference! This video has actually moved me and I'm excited for my adventure!
Thank you so much Taylor for making this video. I didn’t miss a post during your hike and lived vicariously threw you. I’m now motivated to perform trail magic work in the future.
One great trip! I liked the fact you showed the pain, the scrapes and boo-boos you went through to make it. Through it all you kept your humor and smile and showed what a nice person you really are.
This was truly a privilege to watch , Taylor you are an inspiration and thanks so much for sharing this awesome hike with us all! I love your attitude and your positivity ❤
Impressive Accomplishment! Thanks for the video! I have other things on my bucket list of things to do but admire seeing your desire come true! Amazing thanks again
Very inspiring and thank you. I am looking forward to section hiking with my girlfriend before we croak, we’re in our sixties now and this trail has beckoned for our entire lives. Peace.
I so enjoyed watching your trail hike video and very glad you shared it. You were a shear joy to observe. I now have greater confidence in my daughter's plan to hike The Camino de Santiago in Spain. Mostly as it's a shorter hike. Glad you made it.
Thanks for the great vlog of your epic hike. It's one of the best in the entire AT genre. Your decision to end your hike in 2020 is commendable, then to return and start over at Amacicola Falls was superb. As a Virginian, I enjoyed watching you hike that section. Yet, we were saddened not to hear your personal confessions at the Priest. ;-) There was fun intrigue of wondering about you, Cody and your fiance. How did that work out for each of you? Perhaps that was all explained in your summiting Katahdin scene, that was a cool resolution to that thread. The scene with the rattlesnake was interesting. I now live in California and have forgotten how fat timber rattlers are. I've had similar experiences of looking down and seeing a rattlesnake inches from my foot. It's very unnerving. Your trail injury was portrayed well. Your audience had great empathy for your head wound and the determination to get in your 4 states. Your hike was very speedy. What was your average per day without your zeros? Your editing and storyline was award winning. When I was 15, I hiked the southern half, Springer thru Shennandoah. I've section hiked to the Cumberland Valley and have hiked some in Maine. Now, I'm 68 and am starting March 7 for my full NOBO thru hike. The ultra-light gear has certainly changed things since the early 70's, making it possible for me to complete my AT goal. Our thru hikes of the AT put us into a special club that can only be understood by those who have walked the 5 million steps. This year, I will persevere to join the club. Thank you again for giving us a view of your entrance into the club. No matter someone's age, no matter where we are from, the experience of our AT thru hike gives us a unique perspective on life.
My wife and really enjoyed watching your video. Thank you. Glad you were able to accomplish the Trail. We have walked parts of it, mainly in Maine, New HamSTER, and Pennsylvania.
It is YOUR fault, yes yours -- that I was up till the wee hours in the morning last nite watching your documentary video. :) It was so captivating that I could not stop watching it. (first thru-hike video I had ever watched btw) What was maybe most amazing was that you were always smiling! You really cranked out the miles so that could not have been as easy as you made it look. Really great video - THANK YOU!
Your trip was very enjoyable to watch! You look amazing even while hiking (natural beauty). I can tell this is your passion, and you seem so happy! I wish I could do something like that.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful video. I appreciate the minimal speaking, giving the viewer the opportunity to reflect. Yellowstone is one of the special wonders of the world, It touches your soul. Blessings
Can I just tell you how amazing it felt to watch your AT adventure. You are one mad crazy girl. You did this solo for the most part. Thanks for a beautiful 1 hour video. All the best for the rest of your life.
Really enjoyed this video - you have such great enthusiasm. I finished the 4000 footers this past Summer and working on the 14ers of Colorado now. Your tears in the 100 mile wilderness somehow really touched me. It reminded me of just how much heart and love there is in the woods, and how it opens me up to stand and move through the wilds like that. And I had unexpected tears when you crossed into Maine and had the Baxter beer! :) What a wonderful journey! Thanks for sharing.
A hiked katahdin this weekend as a day hiker and reaching the top meant so much. Watching this video of your journey... It brought alot of joy. Thank you for sharing. I cant wait to see your next adventure. P.S. I've never seen someone so excited to see New Jersey
This is an amazing Video, thank you very much ✨You are always smiling, even when it's hard. Beautiful person. 🌻 I'm German and we have a trail cross our country for a few years now, the NST- North -South-Trail. It's as long as the AT and I'm going to hike it next year. Now my kids are grown up, and I'll do it, before my dog and me are getting to old for such a challenge. I've enjoyed your video very much. Love and many wonderful trails for you, young and tough lady 👍
Truly captures the adventures we had on the AT. Thanks for working so hard and putting this together my friend!

Thanks for all the hard work you put into this wonderful documentary.
I had to watch this a second time. I really enjoyed watching your through hikes. I didn’t find your channel until 2023 but have been following ever since. It’s amazing you’ve done this numerous times.
I am always amazed when I hiker points to a far away mountain and says that's my hike for tomorrow.. wow .
What a beautiful beautiful trip you had some very hard times but you excelled and are one very strong and determined lady congratulations
Wish I could watch live but I will be working as it’ll be 10 AM Thursday when it launches. Can’t wait to watch after work tomorrow. I watched every single one of your daily vlogs last year when you hiked over my morning coffee.
Awesome! You’re inspiring! Haven’t done any backpacking in 30 years but close to retirement I’m ready. Thank you for the wonderful video!!
Enjoyed your video. Brought back great memories of my 2010 hike.
PaPa Smurf (LT2009, AT2010, PCT2012, CDT2013, SHT2023)
this is the most fascinating video i’ve ever watched like it actually makes me emotional. i grew up in a completely different environment than this and didn’t even know that people do things like this. i’m so proud of you and so excited to hopefully do this at some point too!!
I enjoyed following your adventures on the AT last year and enjoyed this recap, too. You did a great job with this video. You and Cody each found the most perfect hiking partner.
Thank you for taking us along Taylor.
Such a beautiful adventure you went on and completed 🙌
As a former Vermonter now living in N.C. just south of Franklin near the GA border in the mountains I know the beauty of the northern and southern Appalachians and loved this!!!
By far, the best video on hiking the AT. So glad I found your channel! ❤
This was awesome! I was in tears with you at the end. You were the first thru hiker I started watching back in 2020 and followed you all the way through. Now I’m still watching thru hikers and getting myself out more (I’m in western Maine).
What an undertaking! UNDERTAKING to do the AT but to film 📹 it wall trying to figure it out. Taylor good for you♥️ thank you.
app-u-latch-un!!!! I live like 4 miles from the station at 19E. great video. it's so cool to watch people do it especially as I'm not physically able!!! thank you from the bottom of my heart
What a terrific doc of your hike. That was really well done. You should be proud of both the hike and the final Edit 🥳
Thanks!! I'm glad you enjoy it!
When I made my
comment before I did not realize that you DID already do my suggestion about returning to Virginia to officially finish the
AT by hiking the missed section of trail. I could see in your eyes that it must have been a great feeling especially when
you consider the fact that you drove down there 13 hours and back. Also, you did it "within the year" anniversary. I live in
New Hampshire too and have my 4k certificate completed in 1992 and again in 2002. Hiked the AT from Hanover to Errol
and stayed at all the AMC huts. Greenleaf on Lafayette is the only one not right on the AT. Subscribed now and catching
up on all of your videos. Many memories.
I lived in AK 3.5 years and saw 129 moose. I loved seeing them, every one was special.
🙏🏽
It’s unbelievable that you did this all in just 4 months!
Dude I’m so envious. You are very lucky to have a family that supports you like that, and a fiancé as well. Good job. It’s on my bucket list. 🎉
This old coot really enjoyed that. Im ticking off bucket list and will be on the trail in 2024! Doing the Inca old in April.
5 STARS!
--Van
P.S. My brother lives in NH--small world
Please DO break out those pictures... I UNDERSTAND what your saying, all to MUCH… HECK, I was born in 1980 - maybe I am not as OLD as I thought…
this is one of the best youtube videos I have ever accidentally stumbled upon I watched the entire thing.
I watched this video as if walking on the AT...took me a year but well worth the effort. Good job girl!
Lol
I laughed so hard at the end! We didn’t climb the fire tower… of course, there were no stairs! You and the tramily are pure entertainment! Loved the bear can scene as well!
This video has been very helpful and amazing to watch! I've been considering doing this trail myself and watching this video helps my decision!! I'm proud of you for taking the time to document and express concerns and conditions of the trails as well as mentioning the relief of your parents taking your bag for the day it can definitely make a difference! This video has actually moved me and I'm excited for my adventure!
120 days in the wilderness is absolutely insane but also probably changes peoples lives and perspective on the world. What a great adventure.
So inspiring! This was the best AT Doc I’ve watched and you really captured the trail and what to expect. Thank you for making this 💪👏
Im more impressed on how you kept your camera charged that long to capture the memory and achievement. (Haven't watched the entire video yet)
That was GREAT, thanks for taking us along. Congratulations
Thank you so much Taylor for making this video. I didn’t miss a post during your hike and lived vicariously threw you. I’m now motivated to perform trail magic work in the future.
You are my favorite AT blogger. I watched your attempt in 2020 and then the full journey in 2021. Love the work you put into this documentary !
One great trip! I liked the fact you showed the pain, the scrapes and boo-boos you went through to make it. Through it all you kept your humor and smile and showed what a nice person you really are.
I doubt we saw a fraction of it
This was truly a privilege to watch , Taylor you are an inspiration and thanks so much for sharing this awesome hike with us all!
Peace.
That’s crazy you were on the trail at the start of Covid! Crazy respect for starting over again!! You are a beautiful soul 😊
Didn't watch the entire video BUT watched most of it. It was AWESOME .... congrats AGAIN !!!!
(first thru-hike video I had ever watched btw)
What was maybe most amazing was that you were always smiling!
Blessings
My boyfriend Wizard was in this video and it was such a nice surprise ❤️ can’t wait to thru hike with him one day
I’m leaving for springer March 1st! Mainah here and so pumped to get on trail! Thank you for the inspiring vlog! -dirigo slim
Just finished this morning. Great video really well done! Keep up the great work!
Can I just tell you how amazing it felt to watch your AT adventure. You are one mad crazy girl. You did this solo for the most part. Thanks for a beautiful 1 hour video. All the best for the rest of your life.
I miss Cody ... good to see him again in your video.
I miss him too! oh wait.. he's visiting next week!
@@TaylortheNahamshaHiker oh that's so nice 👍.. have fun
Thanks for sharing.
looking forward to watching your documentary on your journey on the Appalachian trail.
A hiked katahdin this weekend as a day hiker and reaching the top meant so much. Watching this video of your journey... It brought alot of joy. Thank you for sharing. I cant wait to see your next adventure. P.S. I've never seen someone so excited to see New Jersey
Go girl go, fellowed you thru your whole hike! For this senior it was exciting! May you have many many more adventures!
Absolutely love the hundred mile markers. That bit of creativity is truly pleasant on multiple levels. I appreciate Taylor’s trip journal. Kentucky
Good singing: "West Virginia". I like that part: well done. Great movie!
So awesome! That was such a great story. I cried at the end i was so excited for you.
Thank you for sharing your adventure. I really enjoyed watching it, and congratulations on completing the AT.
That was an awesome compilation! I have been watching several 2022 vloggers, this was special journey, thanks!
Really, really enjoying this adventure you have brought us along on!
One of the best hiking videos I've seen. Thank you
I love to watch thru hike documentaries!! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
I'm 50 years old and would still love to hike this or PCT. Your video is very inspirational. ❤😊
