I want to start wearing my Rolex again and didnt wanna give the Apple Watch fitness up.
Fair point. I’m sure you’re inspiring other Rolex / Apple Watch owners to do the same! 👏
Never thought about this.
I have a watch collection as well. I want the features and tracking of the apple watch but want to choose my watch accessories as a fashion choice--not a tech choice. Apple could develop profiles for ankle wearers
I work in a factory and we're not supposed to wear watches since they can get caught in the machinery. Ankle wearing works great because I can still track my steps and HR. I recommend wearing it on the inside of the ankle where the large artery is for more accurate heart rate tracking.
That's a fantastic tip, thank you for sharing! Wearing the Apple Watch on the inside of the ankle to stay close to the large artery is a smart move for more accurate heart rate tracking, especially in environments where wearing it on the wrist isn't feasible. Your insight is incredibly valuable for those who need an alternative way to keep their watch on them safely while still benefiting from its features. Stay safe at the factory, and thanks again for the great advice! - Marko
I am a nurse and when i work i wear my applewatch on my ankle.
It is not allowed to wear it on my wrist and it works fine 👍🏻
Hey thanks for sharing! What type of band do you use for your ankle?
Thank you
Food prep workers and some factory and construction workers are not allowed to wear anything on their wrists, fingers, or even necks.
That makes sense! It’s interesting to hear about all the different types of jobs or scenarios that prevent wearing a watch on the wrist. Appreciate your comment! 🙌
Thats why im here
I started wearing on of those inexpensive G-shock clones on my ankle. Works great when tying your shoes or sitting on a train with your foot of the leg resting on your other leg for checking the time that way.
Just curious, why not wear it on your wrist?
I've just tried and it is okay to read notifications. Especially when you're sitting. The next step is to ask management in supermarkets to make ankle-compatible apple-pay terminals.
You make some interring points. Now you’re thinking like a true innovator! 🤓
I want to use it on the anlke because i love to wear analog watches in my wrist. and fitting two watches are uncomfortable and looks dumb.
You make a great point. For anyone like you who prefers to wear analog or any other Watch on their wrist may want to use the ankle for their Apple Watch. 👍 - Marko
I wear a small Apple Watch on my right arm and another classic watch on my left. Never ran into anyone rude enough or who had the balls to walk up and tell me it looks stupid.
I’m wearing it on my ankle for sleep monitoring. Seems to work fine. Wearing it on my wrist at night bothers me but the ankle is a great option.
Same here! I don’t like wearing my Apple Watch on my wrist while I sleep either. I didn’t even think about wearing it on my ankle at night. Thank you for your comment and the great idea Molly!! Idk why I didn’t think to do that 😂
Because I have a treadmill desk and it won’t count my steps when I’m my hands are at my keyboard
Fair enough! Do you feel like it’s getting an accurate count of your steps when you do this?
@@SpartanWatches yes. I’ve not had any trouble. Counts the steps great. The distance isn’t very accurate but that doesn’t matter much to me anyway.
I hate things on my wrist - wore my fitbit for years on my ankle
What type of band do you have on it?
I am allergic to wearing anything ring or watch. my skin turns red and start to hurt after a while. Thanks for introducing a new concept. I am now wearing Fitbit on my leg. :)
It is so comfortable. Thank you so much, It helped a lot
You're so welcome! I’m curious, what kind of band do you usually have on your Fitbit?
I wear my apple watch SE 2 on my ankle and it works fine
Did you optimize or re-calibrate it any differently for your ankle?
@@SpartanWatches nope, I was just trying it for awhile. I switched back to wearing it on my wrist. Didn’t seem to be any different statistics, though.
Will start on ankle cuz work boss thinks I will msg instead working
Great idea! Hopefully, having it on your ankle will show your boss that you’re focused on work and not messaging 🤞 Just make sure to calibrate it properly for accurate tracking. If you need help, check out this helpful guide from Apple: support.apple.com/en-us/105048
I have a Hobie pedal kayak. My watch hand steers the kayak while my feet do all the hard work. The Apple Watch does not register this as an exercise. I put in the watch on my ankle it now tracks my pedal movement.
Well that’s a good reason to put your Apple Watch on your ankle 👏
I always had the biggest issue wearing any type of necklace, ring, or bracelet. I have tried to wear all of these things and at the end of the day they all slowly come off and go into a drawer. I purchased an Apple watch mainly for the fitness/step tracker. I also wanted to ensure a tie in to the apple echo system so I spent more on the apple watch versus a fitbit or something else. I tried so hard to wear it but could only last a month or so and had to take off the watch due to my discomfort. I simply do not like to have anything like this on arms or neck or fingers.
I finally purchased a few different straps for the ankle and I must say that for whatever reason wearing the watch on the ankle does not bother me at all. I can not even tell it is on my body. So long story short a comfortable ankle strap has been a savior for me and my only issue is getting it off to recharge and for the rare times I want it on my wrist. No strap seems to allow easy take off while also being small enough to be used around the wrist = so we have to take it off from the strap that slides into the actual watch. Anyway glad we have info like this YT video that helps us "weird - LOL" niche users.
Hey Eddie!
Thanks for sharing your story! It's really cool to hear how the ankle strap has made a positive difference for you. I understand that not everyone enjoys wearing things on their wrists or necks (me included), so discovering a solution like wearing an Apple Watch on your ankle is pretty awesome.
I'll keep an eye out for straps that are easier to swap between the ankle and wrist - that sounds like a handy tip for future videos. I'm glad the video was helpful, and hey, there's nothing weird about finding what works best for you.
Cheers!

I saw a Kettlebell teacher wearing their watch on the ankle and I was mystified. Hence, I had to get more information. Wearing it on your wrists even with the guards can cause damage. Nice Options - I may have to give it a try.
That is awesome! I’ll have to try that myself next time at the gym. Thank you for sharing!
I have full sleeve tattoos and I can't get the Apple Watch to work.
Interesting! I never realized that could be an issue. Thank you for sharing!
YAY it’s you again I am so subscribing great content, buddy 👍👍👍👍😎
Appreciate your support and thoughtful comments Anthony! 👍 -Marko
I work in manufacturing and am not allowed to wear a watch, so I wear mine on my ankle when at work. I do have a word of CAUTION! Although I'm not allergic to my watch and have no issues on my wrist, the first time I wore it on my ankle I ended up with what appeared to be burns from my watch. I work 12 hour shifts and my ankles slightly swell as the day goes on. Make sure the watch has contact but is NOT tight. As long as its not tight I don't have any issues. Thank you for the band recommendation, the one I have is just basically elastic and difficult to adjust. That band looks much easier to adjust as the day goes on.
Wow you made some great points! Definitely don’t keep it too tight whether on your ankle or wrist. Just snug enough to have the sensors touch your skin but still have some breathing room to not cut off your circulation.
Tip for you: maybe set an alarm to remind you to take the band off for a few minutes? This way you increase your chance of preventing burns.
Let me know if you try out the Nylon Sport Loop
And how it compares to your current band !
@@SpartanWatches I just ordered the loop and thanks for the advice, I'll try that.
I have carpal tunnel in both wrists so I wear wrist braces most of the time but definitely at night.
Thank you for sharing! 😁
Yo! This video would be improved if it showed HOW to calibrate settings for wrist wear and how to re-calibrate for wrist wear. I suspect many may want to switch to ankle wear only for certain activities or work.
You’re absolutely right! I’ll definitely add this in the updated video on this topic. Appreciate your comment and feedback boss man. 👍
yes please improve this video. add more features
I watched this video because I work in a bakery and can’t have any jewelry on my hands and face because it can go into the food we’re making. So I wanted to know if I can do this instead so I can still track my steps at work and everything I’m doing.
That definitely makes sense. Thank you for sharing!
Great content. I will back for more later!!!
Thank you! We will be making more for you soon 👍
I wear mine on my ankle to track my fitness. I have heart anxiety n it stops me from constantly checking my heart rate because it triggers.
Thanks for sharing! Are you mostly wearing it outdoors or while at the gym to track your fitness?
For me personally it's kind of uncomfy on my wrist for long hours especially when sleeping or working on the computer, but I use it on my wrist when I exercise
Thank you for sharing! I can definitely relate to not wearing it on my wrist when sleeping or working on the computer.
Wait a minute before you go. How do you accurately calibrate your I watch for your ankle instead of your wrist can you please make a follow up video about this? I’m sure we are all wondering
Fantastic question! I will definitely do my best to make a follow up video to your question. -Marko
I was born without arms and do not have wrists. I’d be interested in the data the watch could provide although that might not be worth the expense or effort if the data isn't accurate.
I’m sure as the tech improves, the accuracy of the data will too. And are planning on running a deeper study on this exact topic. The goal is to discover just how precise the data is for wearing an Apple Watch on the ankle compared to the wrist. Thanks for your comment! - Marko
It’s not only Rolex, but any kind of dress watch (for an enthusiast is key!).
Until now I’ve been wearing watch and iwatch, one on each hand, but is time to make something different
Thank you for sharing man! Good luck with trying out a different method 🫡⌚️
I'm a massage therapist and can't wear anything on my hands wrists or arms
How’s wearing it on your Ankle been? Any challenges?
Tired of my watch tan on my wrist 😂. For real, I wear it on my ankle to track my steps on a walking pad while I work. Since while I type my steps aren’t tracked
Fair enough 😂 I’ll mention avoiding farmers tan in the next video about this topic! 👍
We're playin basketball 🏀⛹️♂️
This reminded me of that Basketball Song by Bow Wow from the movie “Like Mike” ⛹️🏀
The watch gives me a lot of pain on my wrist, because of the HR monitor that digs into my wrist. No amount of straps or loosening seems to help this. Hence I wear it on my ankle. After all I spent money on it...
Sorry to hear about the discomfort with the HR monitor. It's smart to switch to ankle-wearing to still get the most out of your purchase. Your adaptability could really help others in similar situations. Thanks for sharing, and keep enjoying your watch comfortably! -Marko
I have a desk treadmill and use my hands to type on keyboard while I work so my steps wouldn’t count otherwise. I have to use my ankle
About how long on average would you say you use your treadmill while you work? 🧐 I was debating getting a desk treadmill myself
Im a fighter jet mechanic, we arent supposed to wear any rings watches or jewelry while doing maintenance, but it sucks that the thousands of steps arent being counted for something like pokemon go or general health trends.
Sounds like an important job so that makes sense. Have you tried wearing on your ankle to track steps?
I just got a 44mm apple watch and its way too big for my wrist, also I already have a way nicer stainless steel watch for my wrist so I use the second one on my ankle.
So Apple Watch on your ankle and a regular watch on your wrist? 🤔
@@SpartanWatches No and a Rollie on my wrist actually. Bust down in fact.
I prefer to wear a luxury watch on my wrist
Why exactly?
Kettlebell training.
That’s a new one! Thanks for your comment 🤝
Food service workers cannot wear any watches or wrist jewelry of any kind.
Makes sense! 🤔 Thank you for sharing!
Food service worker and I can’t wear it wile at work.
Thanks for sharing! And thank you for your service in the food industry 🙌🍔
