  • The Twelve South ActionSleeve Armband is a must-have for any gym dwellers who own an Apple Watch. Freeing your wrist from a watch as you bench or do a push-up is revitalizing and worth every penny.
Made of soft neoprene and with a silicone casing, it's very similar to an iPhone armband, just smaller. It allows for accurate and consistent heart rate monitoring as well as still being accessible to interact with either the Workout app or a third party tracker like Gymaholic.
I recommend you strap it on your biceps, but if for some reason that doesn't work, the freedom of the armband is that you can attach it anywhere else that does - even on your leg.

Only reason I want this is because I like to wear mechanical watches, but want to track my movements at the same time. So wearing it on my upper arm will keep it out of view, so it doesn't ruin my outfit

Thanks for the review man! One question tho. How does the velcro hold on... is it still good after like 3 months? Or will I have to buy this product every month? :D
I workout 4-5 times a week, about 2 hours at times. So having this armband would be so so good! But if the velcro is poor then there is no point :/

Getting an apple watch soon, definitely gonna need one of these. Currently have the fitbit alta, and the screen is destroyed from workouts.

All these arm bands only come in a 16.5 is the biggest I have found. Idk if they think someone with 20 inch pythons doesn’t want to use a arm band 😂

As you pumped them guns did you feel the band constricting the bicep?

You can definitely feel it, depending how fat your arms are like mine. Not too bad once you figure out your position!

Would this track calories burned? Looking for something to wear during Jiu Jitsu and would like to know how many calories I’m burning during training.

I would argue that you're wearing the Watch too low down on your wrist - every Apple promotional shot has the Watch ABOVE the wrist bone, further up the arm. This doesn't solve the problem completely but should significantly reduce discomfort, increase heart rate accuracy and lower the chances of pressing the buttons when you bend your wrist.
As for the product itself - my only concern is whether it works. Did it award you a decent number of calories for your strength work out? Did it measure your heart rate? Did it track the activity, basically?

If it goes higher, it'll require the band to be looser, and will just fall down to the wrist, but a lot looser, and even less contact on the skin. Outside of working out, it's the most comfortable spot for myself. I'm sure this is different for everyone though!
As for the band, it tacked just as well as if it were on my wrist. Heart rate, calories, and movements. I'm not going scientifically say it's 'much' better, but it matches my usual workout stats and I've got a free wrist to work with!

Agree with original comment. It won’t fall down your wrist if you just tighten it up higher. Apple literally says you’re supposed to wear it higher. I’m a gym rat, lift heavy DBs and never have an issue since I wear it tight, higher and correctly.

I don't like it. Its way too weird. It seems quite useful and practical though for working out at the gym, doing some jogging, etc.. type stuff.

The watch will not work correctly since its not for arm, its designed for wrist. Unless apple has said it worked or someone tested the wrist versus arm. Polar seems to be tested for this.

    • @andreaelizabeth5494
      @andreaelizabeth5494 Год назад +1

Apple only says that since they never fully tested it on the arm. I have done personal testing and get the same readings on the arm and leg. The leg was actually more accurate than the wrist. I did all the comparison with a polar chest strap

Well I bought this band because of this review and I can tell you guys. Don't buy it! It fell apart after the first use. The glue between the velcro part and the outside let loose. Google some Amazon reviews and there will be a lot of people with the same problem. So yeah. Crap product.

Woah, I've been using it since at the gym and haven't had any issues yet, but definitely contact Twelve South, their support is top notch.

Or you could just get an armband for your phone. Defeats the purpose of the watch. Guess everyone needs to try and make money somehow.
