When you, as the artist, truly love your own art work it shines through so much in the piece. Those suncatcher things are just gorgeous. I hope you can find a way to use that volcanic paint - it was such a shame that it "punched" them in the eyes.
Yeah, some of those poor suns and moons had really bad skin conditions, not sure if you need to contact a dermatologist or a vulcanologist. I love the addition of the crystals and the beads, they look gorgeous.
It’s a joy to see your happiness and pride. They are wonderful! I like the sound of them gently clacking together and, of course, the gleams of the gems shining all over the room. Yes, you’ll always be making them, and there’s still the option to paint flowers and stars all over them. I really like their purpose to be beautiful and inspire. Good job, Shelby! Luv ya! 💜💜💜
Hi Shelby. Your narration today made even those poor volcano glaze pieces ok. The joy and enthusiasm over the mold and finished pieces was worth all the work. Having those suncatchers in your store will be very successful. Cheers from the Midwest USA. 💜
Thank you for "hanging a hat" on the idea that even though we may all start in the same place, our own design esthetic will produce something completely different for each person. Nice reminder. Feels harder to "make a mistake". :)
When I was a kid, I had a moon balloon 🌙 that was a sapphire blue color with gold accents (similar to Lapis Lazuli) and I’d love to see you try that color combo with these!
Very beautiful. You are good at what you do. Also you should get a jump ring ring. Its a ring you put on your finger to help open and close jump rings. I make jewelry and I love mine. It keeps me from grabbing pliers every2 seconds.
Definitely 90’s nostalgia, back in middle school I had decorated my bedroom with cloud wallpaper and a sun and moon boarder that looked a lot like these molds 🌞🌛
I gaaaasped when you showed them. I thought surely it wasnt that bad, but no. That poor yellow sun looks like... the way the glaze reacted together, it looks like all of the creepy games that have been coming out lately, with like. Childrens schools being haunted. It's a pottery SCP. The idea was SO GOOD, and that glaze betrayed you so hard! The finished pieces are perfection though. Theyre so lovely and those suns and moons were all over my childhood, too. i love them, I'm so glad you found a new piece to bring you so much joy, and the things you're making now will also become part of some new childhoods. Isn't that just wonderful?
The failed ones are so funny and cute! It's cool to watch you play around. You remind me so much of my Grandma. She had a pottery studio when I was reeeeeally little and I can just imagine the joy and fun she must have had making cute things, and all the trial and error that comes with it. We used to make jewelry and do other crafts together, but I never got to learn from her how to do the bisque pottery before she passed away. Looks so fun. I appreciate that you show the whole process.
😍😍 I love the moons! I want like 30 of them haha! I totally understand how these became some of your favourites. I also grew up with the 90s sun and moon bedding hahah.
You are killing it lately with all your creative mixed medium designs! I am also suuuper nostalgic for the sun and moon design too, so these would be a dream find for me as well. I love how the final result mixes that celestial vibe with your colourful aesthetic. Gorgeous!
The double glazed volcano pieces showed promise, their potential is worth exploring even when this first try was a no-go! Personally I have never cared about objects with faces, so these aren't for me, but I can see these would be a love ly starting point for front door or door frame ornaments that greet guests and keep the evil wibes at bay.
We had sun moon and stars on our Christmas tree as I grew up. My parents are gone now and this year I gave my daughter the sun moon and stars as a Christmas memory of then they are exactly the same as yours facially with the smoother face sun and they are verdigris glazed
My daughter had those same sheets. I actually painted a wall in her room dark blue to match the sheets. Then I used gold paint to add constellations and sayings about the heavens. Your little suns and moons are so lovely.
Shelby!! I never had the sheets, but I am currently laying under a thick wool blanket that PERFECTLY matches your description! Mine is blue with yellow suns/moons on one side, and the colors are swapped on the other side!
Oh, I absolutely remember those sheets! They were the basis for my sister’s blue and white celestial-themed bedroom. 😂 Guess a few trends hit Oz and America at the same time!
When you add jump ring to anything, it is better to use two pair of pliers. You twist in opposite directions to open and close the ring. This helps you get a tighter join. I like how you designed the added elements. Keep on experimenting and thank you for all the joy you bring us.
My favorite of them all so far! I’ve always had a “thing” about Sun and Moon hangers. What you came up with is perfect! Really excellent work! If you were near Southern Idaho in The United States I’d buy you hem immediately! 🌞❤🌜
Oh Shelby.... these are soooo gorgeous! They will be great sellers for you going forward. Can we just say I had to pause the video because like 99% of the time you are able to save anything that goes wrong but this one percent, I didn't know if I should laugh or cry. I did both. The second go round was just awful! Lol. But the good Def outweighed the bad. Love them so much!
So happy. Me too. Lovely colors and a great design. You are right. A lot of them together like on a wind chime would have a wonderful sound. Thanks for sharing.
These came out so nice. I too had the sun and moon sheet set.😄 I love how you added the charms. They are so beautiful. The glaze fail was pretty bad,😆but the ones you saved were great. 👍🏾❤️
Love these such a happy set of joy. My son had a mattress with the same sun and moon pattern on it with the royal blue background. He’s 23 now and it’s the second time you’ve mentioned this such wonderful memories. Why do you all have to grow up so fast. He’s in a queen size bed with his partner and that mattress was used for all three of my kids. Cheers cherieK ♥️🇦🇺
The moon and star theme was so popular in the 90s, and I was right there with it! These would definitely have been hanging in my bedroom!! This brought back so many memories! Such a great job, Shelby!!❤
Favorite time of day is when the sun and moon are saying Hi to each other at the same time. Meeting each other. It's amazing to see just love that. The paganism stuff really isn't my thing especially now do remember having earrings sun and moon still have em. ❤ this series! Always fun to see what you come up with.
Oh, wow! The ones with the normal glaze turned out so awesome! Maybe you could spray paint the volcano glaze fail ones and then use acrylic paint to paint the eyes and make them into Christmas tree ornaments. Or use a really shiny metallic spray paint and turn them into sunbathers too.
I'm not a potter, but I still love watching your videos. Your excitement and love for your craft just brings a little joy to my day. I love these pieces!
I love mine Shelby!! I got one of the green moons and it's such a unique and beautiful piece. I'll be hanging it in my bedroom window overlooking the garden. 💚 🌙 🌚
You need two plyers to close jump rings (one on each side)- or you can use a jump ring 'ring' where you insert the other half into the slot to hold it firm while the plyer does it's thing. - and yes, they are Gorgeous!!
Your JOY over this piece is contagious! I wish I had been able to purchase an advent calendar- but will definitely purchase some when you restock them!
I think the craters are easier to make by just putting some little pits in the clay itself, and THEN using the volcanic glaze. I think then it'll enhance the already existing craters and roughness. So I'd start out with a rougher moon first. Absolutely gorgeous pieces though. I love how it catches the sunlight. That is precious.
The first firing yellow ones look like the old 1913-17 films of journey to the moon. The moon was the face of a man, all the actors have exaggerated face make up with black ringed eyes. Your suns and moons reminded me of those first pre sound 🎥 films. Every “mistake” is a learning process. I make soap. I keep a video diary and extensive notebooks on every recipe, so I know exactly what I do and what turns out each time. I often follow recipes and it just turns to custard. Sometimes you can save it, other times it’s drain cleaner. Broken china makes excellent drainage at the bottom of flower pots! Love your videos xxxxx
Love the regular glaze and the beautiful trinkets combination! The volcanic glaze would be in the trash for me. It looks like the piece is made of cement and actually brings it down. Hope you experiment with how you paint the sun and moon some more. would love to see the lips brought out or stars or other things added to the faces. You are so good at unashamedly praising your work when it is good and facing the failures when they come along. It is fun to see you enjoy your art and work.
These and the photo pets are making me regret not getting a calendar! They turned out so amazing, I really hope you do ad these to your regular line up because I'd love to catch one one day 😍💕
Since the volcano glaze reaction around the eyes was what you were expecting, maybe you could try doing a sponge technique of the volcano glaze over the regular glaze.
First, I had to laugh because I got my daughter moon and stars bedding, too! It was the 90s and that was so "in!" Now to your latest video offering. I love those sun catchers! Anything with sparkle gets my attention. I would absolutely adore having one of my own! Great job! 💚
I love suncatchers! The charms remind me of old drawings which kinda makes me want to see them antiqued like a treasure map. It also makes me wonder if you’ve ever tried ‘shading’ anything with crosshatching or if that would need lines that were too thin for underglaze to play nice. I bet those volcanic glazes would look amazing on the outside of some mugs
I love how these turned out! I'm partial to that exact same 90s sun & moon motif and they look so lovely with the little gems and such. I really hope I can adopt one of your creations one day!
The best thing about your artwork is how creative you are. I don’t know how you take something so simple and come up with such awesome pieces. I just love you.
I really really like these molds. I wish the textured ones would have turned out, I saw your vision and I feel like they would have been gorgeous if the glazes had worked together.
if you simply spray out the vulcanic glaze pieces you really don't like in some nice bright colors you can hang them as ornaments in a tree in the garden..
Hi Shelby! These have very 90s vibes! So cute 🌞🌛 especially as suncatchers 🥰 A little tip, try using two pairs of pliers when closing your jump rings, it's much easier! Use one in each hand, it'll save your fingers and close up tighter
I love these! I was a teen in the 90s and I definitely loved everything celestial. These make me want to drink out of blue glass wine glasses, light some incense, and watch Friends all day in a pair of overalls and Doc Martens
I am so glad the wax resist worked! To be honest I was just guessing when I suggested it. These are beautiful I want a dozen of them throughout my house!
When you, as the artist, truly love your own art work it shines through so much in the piece. Those suncatcher things are just gorgeous. I hope you can find a way to use that volcanic paint - it was such a shame that it "punched" them in the eyes.
I love that we get to see your ups and downs in the creative process. I love these and hope they make an appearance for us to buy 😍
I love that we don't just see all the good things as well. Love the sunshine and moon's
Am I the only one that wants her to do every piece and the one glass drippy stuff
I've been obsessed with it ever since the pumpkins
Yeah, some of those poor suns and moons had really bad skin conditions, not sure if you need to contact a dermatologist or a vulcanologist. I love the addition of the crystals and the beads, they look gorgeous.
I had those bedsheets and comforter.... I LOVE the sun and moon so much!
Me too!!😂😂
As soon as you said bedsheets, I KNEW EXACTLY the ones you were talking about!! 🥰
Yes! Nostalgia with the sheets! They were my favourite as a kid.
So much nostalgia! I still have my beach towel with that kind of pattern on it! Its still in good condition, too.
SAME! As soon as she said bedsheets I could see them in my mind
Love them they could be made into a garden mobile
It’s a joy to see your happiness and pride. They are wonderful! I like the sound of them gently clacking together and, of course, the gleams of the gems shining all over the room. Thank you for "hanging a hat" on the idea that even though we may all start in the same place, our own design esthetic will produce something completely different for each person. Nice reminder. Feels harder to "make a mistake". :)
They're beautiful! To get them reflecting even more light, maybe you could try a group with lustre glazes on the suns and moons!
When I was a kid, I had a moon balloon 🌙 that was a sapphire blue color with gold accents (similar to Lapis Lazuli) and I’d love to see you try that color combo with these!
They may work as wind charms, too. I like the softer sound they make.
I love it when youtubers share their fails. It's easy to forget with how talented you all are that it's a learning process that you're still on.
Today I felt how it is, when you share happiness - it doubles the happiness. You made my day! ❤
If you make more, Witch I think you will. You can add some tiny bells as well
These would be great for wind chimes.too. Love your sun catcher idea ❤️🌈🕊💯🙏🏻🎊
Very beautiful. You are good at what you do. Also you should get a jump ring ring. Its a ring you put on your finger to help open and close jump rings. I make jewelry and I love mine. It keeps me from grabbing pliers every2 seconds.
Yes! The jumpring ring is a game-changer. Thank you for mentioning that.
Sweet! Two vids in the same week!!!
❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
They are beautiful. I was thinking that a sun on top and then moon. The little dangles make it adorable. They truly finish the piece.
Definitely 90’s nostalgia, back in middle school I had decorated my bedroom with cloud wallpaper and a sun and moon boarder that looked a lot like these molds 🌞🌛

I also grew up with the 90s sun and moon bedding hahah.
Those poor little suns and moons with pink eye 😂😂😂 you can only try and learn!!
i like that the one stilt that did really stick gave it's sun a sort of beauty mark
You are killing it lately with all your creative mixed medium designs! I am also suuuper nostalgic for the sun and moon design too, so these would be a dream find for me as well. I love how the final result mixes that celestial vibe with your colourful aesthetic. Gorgeous!
I do love the sun/moon aesthetic because of my childhood too.

Gorgeous! Especially with the bright Antipodean sun lighting them up 🌜🌞
Oh, I absolutely remember those sheets! They were the basis for my sister’s blue and white celestial-themed bedroom. 😂 Guess a few trends hit Oz and America at the same time!
Absolutely stunning. Those would be my "Dream Piece" too if i were a potter. Im obsessed with crescent moons and suns.
When you add jump ring to anything, it is better to use two pair of pliers. You twist in opposite directions to open and close the ring. This helps you get a tighter join. I like how you designed the added elements. Keep on experimenting and thank you for all the joy you bring us.
U literally took me back to my teenage years! 😂 sun and moon was everywhere!!!
My favorite of them all so far! I’ve always had a “thing” about Sun and Moon hangers. What you came up with is perfect! Really excellent work! If you were near Southern Idaho in The United States I’d buy you hem immediately! 🌞❤🌜
I love the hungover running eyeliner ones lmao. Especially the suns. I've woken up looking like that before.
I love love your reactions!!! So very you and honest!! They look like runny mascara after a swim😂😂. Never stop giving us your HEART reactions.
Oh Shelby.... these are soooo gorgeous! They will be great sellers for you going forward. Can we just say I had to pause the video because like 99% of the time you are able to save anything that goes wrong but this one percent, I didn't know if I should laugh or cry. I did both. Yesss I LOVE sun and moon everything 🥰😍! The yellow suns and blue moons are my favorites. I want one!!!
So happy. Me too. Lovely colors and a great design. You are right. A lot of them together like on a wind chime would have a wonderful sound. Thanks for sharing.
For the volcano glaze that you don’t like - what about adding an acrylic wash to bring out the craters and clear spray coat over the top.
You could make the runny eyes covered with black sunglasses. I love what you did with them! ❤❤❤
These came out so nice. I too had the sun and moon sheet set.😄 I love how you added the charms. They are so beautiful. The glaze fail was pretty bad,😆but the ones you saved were great. 👍🏾❤️

The moon and star theme was so popular in the 90s, and I was right there with it! These would definitely have been hanging in my bedroom!! This brought back so many memories! Such a great job, Shelby!!❤
Send you a big hug from Bolivia, love everything you create!!! ❤
I love the way you say, Potter. I am so impressed with your hard work ethic your creativity and, artistic skill.
Love the sun and moon catchers, absolutely beautiful!
Wow! They are so beautiful, even on camera. I bet they're really gorgeous in person! 👍✌❤
These are so beautiful!! And the sparkly lights the cast! 🤩😍 I had the same bedsheets! And I would totally have them again as an adult 😆🌞🌜
Oh, wow! The ones with the normal glaze turned out so awesome! Maybe you could spray paint the volcano glaze fail ones and then use acrylic paint to paint the eyes and make them into Christmas tree ornaments. Or use a really shiny metallic spray paint and turn them into sunbathers too.
Even when you think it is a fail.. your work is beautiful.
You bring the sunshine 🌞
I'm not a potter, but I still love watching your videos. Your excitement and love for your craft just brings a little joy to my day. I love these pieces!
Might also be cool to try an iridescent coat or even some gold accents on the sun. Love how they turned out
I love mine Shelby!!
Oh my god! I also want the blue moon from the right. Love it!! 😍
Your JOY over this piece is contagious! I wish I had been able to purchase an advent calendar- but will definitely purchase some when you restock them!

A whole new market is right there for you if you make the moons into nursery mobiles or decorations for little ones walls 🥰
So true about 90s sun and moon my mom used to have a thing that spins that had her sun and moon.
I love your attitude, and clothes. So lively and bright!
I love suncatchers! The charms remind me of old drawings which kinda makes me want to see them antiqued like a treasure map. It also makes me wonder if you’ve ever tried ‘shading’ anything with crosshatching or if that would need lines that were too thin for underglaze to play nice. I still have THOSE sheets and a quilt, though mine were the black and white version. I love these pours!
Shelby, when you do the jump rings use 2 pliers; it makes them easier to put together.
I love how these turned out! I'm partial to that exact same 90s sun & moon motif and they look so lovely with the little gems and such. I really hope I can adopt one of your creations one day!
Absolutely love them. Even the ugly ones, not everything works out but it was good to see them anyway!
Oh, they're adorable! They make me smile! Beautiful work.
Everyone who gets one of these will be so lucky! They turned out beautifully!
I had those same bedsheets as a child! Absolutely stunning work, Shelby! So inspiring and beautiful!
Have you thought about rubbing a metallic wax in gold on the textured ones
The best thing about your artwork is how creative you are. I don’t know how you take something so simple and come up with such awesome pieces. I just love you.
You were over the moon with how they turned out 🌛
I really really like these molds. I wish the textured ones would have turned out, I saw your vision and I feel like they would have been gorgeous if the glazes had worked together.
These turned out so beautiful! I am definitely inspired to make a sparkly suncatcher myself ❤
The green moons look exactly like the pokemon metapod and im here for it!
I have the blue sun and moon bedding that you were talking about. They were my mum's because I was barely alive in the 90s but I love them so much.
So beautiful! And very nostalgic for me too 😊
I get so happy when I wake up to a new video!!! It seriously helps me calm down before I start my day!
if you simply spray out the vulcanic glaze pieces you really don't like in some nice bright colors you can hang them as ornaments in a tree in the garden..
I still have the doona cover
It was my mothers who passed in 2004 (I’m now 30)
I put it away and it’s so beautiful
Hi Shelby! These have very 90s vibes! So cute 🌞🌛 especially as suncatchers 🥰 A little tip, try using two pairs of pliers when closing your jump rings, it's much easier! Use one in each hand, it'll save your fingers and close up tighter

love your sun catchers, love your enthusiasm and looking forward to seeing what else u make for your advent calendar.
I love the ones you kept and the way you finished them.
I am so glad the wax resist worked! To be honest I was just guessing when I suggested it.
These are beautiful I want a dozen of them throughout my house!
