Vivaro project Pt.3. Changing those dodgy check straps.

Are you fed up with your van doors trying to chop your legs off?
Sort out those check straps!
I did and this is how I did it.

I'd manage to replace the check strap today, as it kept making a loud banging noise every time I open the door. It was caused by the pin. The pin came out and roller came loose. When I ordered the new check strap, the picture shown its off-set but the one I got was not. Though I still fitted it and it's working fine. Thank you so much for the tutorial.

Good news you got it fixed👍. My new one was the same, I just swapped the arm with the old one. Thanks for keeping us updated with the fix😁.

Mine makes a horrible 'clank' sound as it snaps into the notches as you open the door, is that what yours was doing before you changed them? The door snaps into the positions as it should, it's just noisy where as I noticed yours were silent when opening/closing the door.

Mine weren't making any noise, sounds like you need to take them apart and have a look. Good luck and keep us informed with what you find.

Question can they fit either side or is there one for left hand / right hand cheers

I think both sides are the same and will fit either side.

How are your interior air vents? Any of the need replacing? My does, but I just can find any tutorial on how to replace them.
