Good video Rob as always. I really hope your DPF cleaning man watches it and sees what he’s breathing in every day. He’ll be like a coal miner who smoked 60 Woodbines a day in a few years.
You shouldn’t worry about the sound quality because you’re honest & engaging in all of your videos. You do amazing things with all of your vehicle repairs.
yeah its nice that they always make a note to say sorry for the bad audio. I see so many vids from other amateurs they have **** audio and don't even realise or apologise. So its great hay they say sorry - but honestly the audio is absolutely fine 99.999% of the time there days - pro work boys!
The joys of Euro 5 and 6 diesels. Nice to see the diesel particulate filter being professionally cleaned rather than just thrown away / recycled for a costly replacement.
I was thinking that and was going to comment and say the same. All that crap coming out of the DPF filter and straight down his lungs. It’s bad enough at work smelling it when the Merc HGV I drive does the regeneration on the DPF and you can smell and taste the carbon and other stuff from it
@@martinmalone6324 Lol honestly you couldn't of put it better. When you are young you think things will never effect you. Many people are gone from my generation. Life health family are everything
Never even heard of a DPF before you guys mentioned it the other week, let alone know there are people who offer a service flushing em out. Another life lesson learned curtesy of Salvage Rebuilds Community College 😉. Cheers for video, you have a good weekend too 👍👌
As a rule I’m not in the van during the cleaning process but the auto cleaning function packed up, I proceed doing the clean manually as the Chemicles had already entered into the filter during set up. My Lungs are all good, I had the rear of the van door open for flow of air also I had my duel fans blowing also to the rear operating during this procedure so the soot particles didn’t linger in the van while I was operating it manually. This routine is not a normal day to day clean routine, thank you for all your concerns but breathing this in daily is not the case.
I have taken in other viewers comments and now have invested in breathing apparatus over the weekend just in case this situation happens again as I’m quite busy with the machine being in my van.
The way you guys work together, both know your place, it's obvious Chris is the wizard with the mechanical side NOTHING seems to beat him, and Rob your a wizard buying, selling, sourcing stock spares and just get stuck in and do anything, what a team you both are, I have massive respect for both of you and the stuff your BOTH turnaround is just 100% top class and genuine.

Brilliant to see what actually happens with a DPF clean Rob and please thank the guy for letting us see it. Chris is a proper grafter who knows his stuff, you and he make a brilliant team. Thanks once again.
Rob and Chris in one of my old work place we use to take the DPF off and block up the pipe holes and the bottom of the DPF and we use to pour about 4lts off coke down there over night, and in the morning drain out the coke refit the DPF and it cleared it out and no more fault codes and no problems when driving the vehicle. Keep up the good work bro Rob the Welsh boy 👍👍🏴🏴
Nice that we can now see our new salvage rebuild employee. Mark clarke, although I didn't appreciate you guys showing my bath water half way through. What a great detailed video from start to finish. I love it when the vehicle gets its face back on and smiling. What a nice van. Well done guys 👍👍👍

Nice to see for a change a service that are willing to clean and fix something (DPF FILTER) rather than just throw it away and replace it. Well done guys++++
What a result with the van! I think you managed to achieve what everybody else had given up with on that van. Credit where it’s due Rob and Chris! You both did well sticking with it! 👍👏👏👏😅😥🤪
Awesome Rob, bargin it is. Btw, check the coolant temperature and its dpf regen. If the coolant temp stays too low (due to a stuck thermostat or something), the ecu wont trigger a regen since it is not up to operating temp, that will def cause a blocked dpf. Cheers Rob, enjoyed this one!
You guy amaze me with how well your mechanical expertise make difficult jobs do-able. DPFs are horrible jobs to do and expensive. We had a fleet of these Vivaro vans at work brand new, always had issues with them out of 10 brand new vans 3 had DPF problems within 2 years. I remember asking my boss how much the work was and was told it was roughly about £800-1200 of work depending on where you go to get the work done, lucky i think he got it fixed on Vauxhall warranty in the end, i remember him fuming over it as i think he brought the van rather than leased or hired . Must be a common fault. Great video again lads. Thank you for the education as always :)
In South Africa they were branded as Nissan Interstar and were sold as minibus taxis. Most of them were recalled and fleet owners lost a lot of money and nissan suffered reputational damage
No wonder everyone else who looked at this van before through in the towel, just goes to show how a bit of perseverance and hard work pays off. Great job lads, love all the stuff you put out on you tube, find myself counting down to the next one all the time! Have a great weekend 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Wow I loved watching that DPF been cleaned what a money saving job, It was strangely very satisfying seeing the chap cleaning it and the carbon coming out i was surprised just how much they hold.
In "the old days" we used to use caustic soda on our bike exhausts, did a good job of cleaning lol, took skin with it. Also used a chemical called Genclean, now banned as its carcinogenic!
Haha Genclean, my dad used to use that stuff, I used to help him painting as a kid and we washed our hands with Genclean when we were done! Got rid of gloss paint in seconds off your hands.

I was worried for they guys lungs. Surely he should be wearing a mask. I felt like coughing myself just watching it.
Me too, having worked with dusty granular carbon it's not nice stuff to be breathing in !
100%, we know that NOx is carcinogenic. Shocking.
Just started watching Mask defo needed
what does not kill you make you stronger enough with masks lol
