  • What's better than fixing your cord? A spare car key without leaving home! I started Tom's Key Company (tomskey.com/?u...) so you can get quick and affordable DIY spare car keys and fobs shipped to your front door.
    If you replace an electric oven / stove / range, you may be in for a surprise if the plug in the wall does not match the cord on the range. There can be 3 prong and 4 prong versions. Buy replacement cord on Amazon USA: amzn.to/3r23iEU
    Amazon Canada: amzn.to/3yJqlag

    If you need and electric tester, buy on Amazon USA: amzn.to/3r02Kzy
    Amazon Canada: amzn.to/3xAdbwm
    Amazon UK: amzn.to/3r0EXPR
    Be safe in anything you do! This video demonstrates the particular oven being worked on. There may be different considerations in other particular installations.
    The 3 prong vs. 4 prong plug depends on whether the ground and neutral wires are separated. Changing the plug is really quite straightforward and does not require any special tools.

    THIS, IS….., AMERRRRRIIIIICCCCC-A!
    Be safe! Alot of amperage here.
    ….and Screw and clamp that Nickel plated shitty connector well unless you have a Solid Copper one. I do love this honesty!

    Very important. The receptacle laying on the floor is a no no. What happens if the sink overflows and floods the kitchen.

      What happens if it doesn't?

    Good video, but sloppy work. Don't keep the black wire short. Should have cut all wires to the same length to eliminate that issue. Also the crimp job was pretty sloppy with the wires sticking out everywhere.

    Great quick n simple explain! Helped immensely! True man up for the overlook clamp down. By doing that a life will probably be saved! Great job 👏 👍 👌

    Poor crimp on the black wire. You should've cut off the frayed end, about 1/2" and then stripped back the black wire so that all of the strands would fit into the crimp.

    So I’m one, thinking his cord wires should be over to the right? And that big red x alerts me to something (not to mention he already admitted to being wrong about something in the beginning) and I understand someone’s question about 220, that I’m wondering if you add the two measurements he got, idk. I don’t remember all that.

    Hi. I bought a range oven, it needs 4 prongs but I currently have 3 plugs.
    How can it be changed to 4 prongs ?

    Question what would happen if you don't have the ground strap?

    • @riffdex
      @riffdex Год назад

      You don’t have the “strap” he showed on this oven in the video, or you don’t have a ground screw at all? If you have a ground screw but don’t see a strap like his, don’t sweat it! Basically ovens use all sorts of different designs. This particular oven has a metal strap but yours may not. But you can still screw the ground wire into the ground screw on your oven and should receive the safety benefits from the ground wire still.

    Next time just buy a new cord or good crimp on connectors. Also your really not supposed to cut stands of a conductor off.

    How do you plug a 4-prong into a 3-prong outlet

    • @sierrahinson39
      @sierrahinson39 2 года назад +1

      You dont. You need to change it to cord that fits. Thats the whole point of the video
