There are two things that help me: One is to connect a new habit with an old one. If I e.g. listen to music every day because I love it, I can connect this with a chore I do not love too much and distract me. The second one is I am very patient and loving with my "I don't wanna do thiiiis!" voice. I do not tell it to shut up, but I explain why it is so much better to do it, why it will feel better and that there is always time for the voice to whine later. It takes a minute longer, but the voice actually often turns into more motivation because I figured out what the real issue was and solved it.
Summarizing and adding a little bit: Steps to be consistent 1) List all things you want to do. Find why you love the thing, you want to be consistent at, and then stick to it. 2) Progressively gain skills by focusing on only one at a time. 3) Schedule all of your life around the damn thing (Keep it at the top of your priority list) 4) Ignore voices in your head. 5) Don't worry and leave the practice if you miss one day or two. After sometime, that consistency will become a habit and then you can move on to next skill.
My five steps to be consistently consistent 1. Think positive 2. Write a to do list 3. Focus on small things because it all adds up 4. Make it a habit, the more I do it the more it becomes consistent in my life. 5. Lastly I try my hardest not to beat myself up when I fall short but to keep trying each day for better
The "ignore your feelings" totally hits home for me! Not because i need to work on it, but because it is something I teach! As a musician and piano teacher, my students think that music is an emotional endeavour, but really, as you are learning the skills, it is the slow, monotonous and focused work that gets you ahead. Once the skills are mastered, THEN you can tap into the emotions and communicate the story you want through the music! Thanks for your videos, Marie! They are always encouraging and inspiring me. ❤
+faith1characterhope Tell me about it! I'm currently learning how to play the piano with my left hand using chords which is not an easy task for a beginner although I can play any melody effortlessly with my right hand by ear without notes but the left hand is a totally different story. I know that once I overcome the tough beginning, the sky is the limit :)
I'm a music education major currently working on jeux d'eau by ravel. had I not begged my teacher to let me keep this song, my senior recital would have fallen apart. this song inspires and motivates me to keep going. do you have any tips to correct bad back posture? I've mostly corrected my hand technique, but after hours of practice my back hurts and I can't go on even though I would like to.
+Betty-Alexandria Pride A couple of tricks I use are visualisations. 1. Imagine your head is a pool ball and your back is a pool cue, imagine your head (pool ball) is balancing perfectly on your neck (pool cue). this is a horseback riding technique to keep relaxed in the neck. 2. Imagine your ears are suspended by 2 threads from the ceiling. this lifts the head and helps to realign the spine. 3. A simple yoga trick -- sitting in the position you would normally sit at the piano, but without anything in front of you. Part your knees and drop your back and head between your knees. While taking slow deep breaths, roll your spine up as if you are rebuilding your spine, vertebrae by vertebrae. 4. lastly, as you are playing--are you hunching down over the keyboard? Try practicing while keeping your back upright and relaxed. Train your eyes to look down without bringing the neck down. Hope that helps!
Wow, this brings some understanding to the point. I struggled because I am also trying to learn to listen to myself more. I see what you mean when you are talking about developing the skills. Of course it isn't going to move us the same way until after we know how to make the music happen.
1. Keep Your Eye on The WHY. 2. Pick Your Battle - [Pick one thing and stick with it] 3. Schedule It & Schedule Your Priorities 4. Ignore Your Feelings - [ignore the whiny voice] 5. Catch That Wagon [get back on if you fall off]
One thing that has really helped me stay consistent & push through 'the feelings' of not wanting to do anything is turning on music that motivates me (Yonce never fails me) What this does is triggers a can do / energizing attitude that gets me in a flow, reminds me of my why and empowers me me accomplish things.
+Life By Jazz You just reminded me how true that is! I've been feeling unmotivated this week but I need to put on some Yonce and get with it. lol :) LOL
this has been my biggest draw back...consistency! I find I get bored easily! I'll be all in on a task or project, gain some traction and then find myself bored and uninspired! This was perfect and I needed to hear this. Thanks for another great video!
THE FUNK FOX I feel the exact same and am currently going through this now. I’m going to try these suggestions in the video, but I feel like it’s never ending
The old adage "21 days to make a habit" is slightly inaccurate. Most humans need 25-30 days of daily reinforcement - and if you miss a day, you've got to start over. Staying focused on the end result (and taking the focus off of YOU), helps keep the momentum and ditch the fear. Also, a colleague once told me "if it's not scheduled, it's stressful." And so putting things in my calendar - and creating boundaries to reinforce those calendared events makes a big difference. But the BIGGEST thing that helps me stay consistent - or should I say person - is my accountability partner. There's no judgement, but she helps me stay on track... and we've been working together for several years now. Having someone else who has your back and wants to see you succeed - without judgement - makes a HUGE difference.
Lisa Robbin Young SO TRUE! When I was in high school and I had so many inspiring classmates, they inspired me to do more and better! Now that I'm in college, is a lot more chaotic and everyone follows their path.. it's a little less inspiring to be in an environment where everyone is very independent..
humanyoda It can shorten the process, and painful emotions are generally the most effective, because our amygdala is wired to protect us from pain, but most people don't want to re-wire their brain using painful methods (shock therapy, anyone?). Studies have also shown that it takes longer for painful emotions to subside than happy, joyful emotions, which means, more positive reinforcement is needed to counteract even one negative/disempowering emotion connected to the new neural path. That's why 25-30 days is recommended.
Stefania That's why you need to look at the "how" and not the "what" - look to how they are doing the things that inspire you, rather than the specifics. There's often crossover from one discipline to another, and you can "borrow" those lessons and apply them to whatever is important to YOU. For example, if you're a dancer, and your best friend is an econ major, who's looking to go into high finance, that may not mean much to you, but watching HOW he goes after that dream can show you some things you can transfer to your path (networking, building his circle of influence, asking powerful questions of leaders in his niche).
Still working on this. When it comes to asking big corporations for money though, I believe everything I present to them has to be perfect, so I don’t know.
The most important steps I've taken so far to being consistent are: 1) to not write myself off as hopeless every time I stumble, and 2) to celebrate little victories. Even two weeks is worth aknowledgement, and sometimes, just sitting with a small sense of success is the most incredible motivation to get up and move towards more of the same. Lots of little successes add up to overall success, or at least, progress!
I only workout if I do it sometime before lunch. After noon I feel like my body just slows down too much for it. So I've been lifting weights/doing squats, crunches and planks while my kids play after breakfast for about a year now! I've NEVER been able to be this consistent about exercising.
for me i realized those feelings are samskaras or habituated patterns they will change after u keep repeating a behaviour. basically dont listen to ur feelings theyre just there to keep you safe but you know better. u know truly who u are and u are a winner believe that and u stay consistent. and no matter what happens u stick to your goal. you never get tired and u can always sleep. you're more powerful than you think believe this and you're unstoppable quit rationalizing bad behaviour believe in urself
I use to have this morning routine that I felt I had to follow in order to get things done. Although I was "sticking" to the routine I wasn't being consistent with what I really needed to accomplish throughout my day. I am more consistent now that I adjust my morning routine by listening to segments these right after I wake up. The advice stays with me all day.
In order to be consistent on something I often write it into my daily sheets to read. These sheets are little reminders of what is important, especially in treating myself well. Say if I want to do yoga, not only do I write down my entire yoga routine and stick it on my bulletin board but I also right messages that express health, strength and calm as some of my top priorities.
What helped me is actually only thinking about going to the gym or thinking about the start. I see what you mean by kind of getting it to stick to your mind as a priority, but you could also only think about putting it into your schedule. Instead of this big task you have to complete now you have made it a small task that is easier to accomplish. Then the rest will take care of itself.
This is my #1 issue! I heard recently "how you do anything, you do everything" by T. Harv Eker and inconsistent and not completely a task to the end keep showing up. Love these 5 pointers! My number #1 Battle will be to implement this daily! Thanks Marie - again and again and again!
I've began tracking my progress daily on multiple fronts for 8 months now with beautiful excel spreadsheet with all kinds of charts. It has helped me a lot, they say "What gets measured gets done".
Catch the wagon is differently something I learned these past few days ,when I was working in sales I would set my schedule to knock these hours and set these appts and so on and so fourth, but there were days that “something “would come up with family needing me to do some and or a issue with car or some. This would make me feel like you said the wagon is just leaving now like my momentum is messed up like I couldn’t get back on it then no lie it will take me 3weeks to 3months to do it again. Now this week the lesson get catch the wagon meaning just cuz you missed a day due to a event doesn’t mean you can’t keep going the following days and catch some success still. I’m glad I learned it
You're so right Sirhoncho! Even if you missed one day, you can always get back on track the next. Thanks so much for sharing that with us! - Monauar, Team Forleo
I needed this so much. Some days I create a great consistent work session. But most days, I'm dragging my feet and not doing enough. What helps me to stay consistent: I threaten myself. I tell myself "IF YOU DONT DO (blank), (blank) won't happen!!
I'm in my second week of exercising 5 days a week first thing in the morning, and the reason I manage to to it is basically because I'm imagining myself as a 90-year old who has a healthy and functional body THANKS to the workout he did through out his life :-). Tomorrow I'll be out running at 5 AM and I'm looking forward to it!!
You are amazing!!! The one idea I am working out daily and help me schedule all things effortlessly by being a mom of two is - you take time if you want it bad enough- and the action is figureoutable from your audio book I am listening to every day - yes , everything is Figureoutable in my life now and I could manage time well and got two courses signed up and completed and currently applied for the third one and I never imagined I could take time out during this early post pregnancy period of 14 weeks. Thanks a ton Marie. I love you for the fact of being multi passionate girl. I heard it for the first time and it feels good and give the freedom to be passionate and work for more than one thing we love. Thank you so much #everythingisfigureoutablemarieforleo
Being consistent has always been one of my weaknesses. I need to get past the "whiny voice" and just keep on going. Thanks for all you do, you've encouraged me while starting my own business this past year.
what helps me is setting my goals on a journal I have. I set them every once in a while, and I have a "wish list" as well as a specific one. at times I take some of thr wishes and turn it into a specific goal (as the SMART stands for). It really worked for me, at about 90% of the time.
Scheduling my priorities definitely helps me be consistent. If I know it HAS to be done, I will do it. If it is something that can be done at a later date, I tend to go with the later date.
here is a small tip that I use guys hope it helps! :- reward your self when u finish the task that u were doing, example I'm learning a new programming language so when ever I finish studying, i buy my self my favorite snack or play games.
promoting my business I haven't always been consistent with sharing with everyone but I am learning how to push my feelings aside and do what I need to do so I can grow my business.
The "WHY" is really important to me and is how I am able to stay motivated. I also really liked the build your life around your priority because that helps me stay pumped and my priority becomes my #1 mission and errands get done as I am able but stop getting in the way of my #1 goal! Loved getting this video today! The timing was perfect (wagon falling). Thank you for making it available!
I've been working out for almost six years now and I still fight to ignore my feelings and stick to my scheduled workouts. I still fall off the wagon, but I treat every week as a new opportunity to succeed. What always helps me is to remember that sitting on my couch is not a good place to gauge how it will feel when I get to the gym. I alway remind myself that once I get there, I will do what I need to do and it won't be as hard as I'm dreading. I also always remember that even if it's not a great workout, it still counts towards keeping my fitness goals; as long as I show up and give it a try I am succeeding.
Celebrating the small gains has made me more consistent - the greater energy, the slightly smaller waist from working out, my niece playing keyboard in church - I pay for her piano classes...So when the big things happen, I will be one big celebration
The biggest way that I have been doing things more consistently is by getting over my ego and made what I wanted important by remembering it, putting it into my schedule or writing it down. When I started making my bed every day it was chanted in my head before bed and every morning. I used past role models who made their bed as my inspiration and reminded myself I like climbing into a made bed. THAT was the one that tipped the scale. Making what I wanted important.
Wow this video could not have come at a better time for me. I just recently really started struggling at my job after 3-4 month run of doing really well. I finally gave into the "wahhhhhhhh but I don't wanna!" voice and have started falling off the wagon. I've been telling myself to just take this time to relax and feel better... and then I'll get back on the wagon. I should really be doing the opposite! I should ignore my feelings and catch the wagon instead of waiting for the next one. Thanks Marie!
Consistency is KEY! This is a great video and is spot on. One of the things that has helped me stay consistent is my top 5 priority list on my wall with my top goals/priorities. This list is a constant reminder to stay consistent and focused on my vision and keeps clarity in my "why" and what I want! It brings me huge success!
It is prioritizing as you have explained but also, reducing the pressure that we can put on ourselves to get everything down now, rather than, looking around seeing what is important and is right in front of you. Example: Spending time with my son and looking after him is far more important than crafting which i am doing whilst listening and catching up on my youtube, but I know without putting on the pressure I will get this done too. It is not able completing my To do list all at once, but what I can accomplish in each day and hour of the day. Making sure I take time out for myself, and this crafting and watching RUclips, aswell as exercising. Thank you for the vlog very inspiring, Carrie X
One step that has truly helped is having a consistency partner. Someone who is also motivated for change. We are both responsible for keeping each other on track. This has helped tremendously in my fitness goals. I’m going to incorporate it into my buisness goals.
Make the thing you want to be consistent with the first thing to do on your list and do it. I find this really helps! Thanks Marie, love, love, love your vids!
Reminding myself that the euphoria of learning a new skill wears off, and its up to me to persevere if I want to succeed. Especially on the days when those inner voices and my tired body have joined forces...sheer determination has to kick in overdrive.
What helped me is actually only thinking about going to the gym or thinking about the start. I agree with sticking in there when it's difficult, but you could also only think about putting it into your schedule. Instead of this big task you have to complete now you have made it a small task that is easier to accomplish. Then the rest will take care of itself.
what hepls me be consistent is making small moves every single day...for example, I want to learn english, so I do this for 20 mintues every single day-every time I get the feeling of this time isn't enough but the satisfication of being consistent really worth it....in the past I was doing English for hours and hours but days ahead I quit, and this is really made me so upset.. Also when I get the feeling of "I don't feel like it", I tell myself: let us try it out and if it really dosen't worth it, then you can stop it...but guess what?! most of the time I find out it really worth it ...and I satisfy myself because I did what I have to do.. thank you for this helpful video..
The biggest goal I still have is getting fit. What helped me accomplish best results was scheduling my workouts right after or before work/school and I was treating it like part of my job to go to the gym and perforn best I could. Back then I didn't have a problem with my feelings
It took me a long time to launch my startup, because of the million tasks that had to be done. It was REALLY hard, but I had to get it down to 1-2 tasks per day, I had to figure out what was of utmost importance and block out the rest for "tomorrow"
One thing that helps me stay consistent and generally organized is making list. I have list of things I need to get done in about a week or two week span and everyday I pick a few things off that lists that are ideal for me to do that day. As far as being consistent with things like going to the gym and uploading videos I schedule specific times to do those things throughout the week. I'm a college student and it's easy for me to compromise the gym and filming to get classwork done, so instead of planning around my class work I plan around going to the gym and filming/editing because I know I'll do my school work regardless. So sometimes its okay to put task that aren't as "important" or pivotal first because you'll do certain tasks regardless of the circumstances (because your life probably depends on it LOL)
I know I am super late but I agree and one of my strategy is to give myself time, I always want the result of my work overnight now I let myself years to be better at something or being consistent.
awsome tips. I have struggled my whole life with consistency. I am 31 now and just had my first child. it is important for me to be consistent in all I do.
I make the pursuit of each goal part of my daily lifestyle vs. trying to use Will Power to get there. Lay a brick every day and eventually you finish the wall. My Goals are . Health . Financial Security . Estate . Entertainment Will Smith’s approach helps me considerably too. When challenged, just repeat to yourself “ I love myself enough to (not to) …!”. List your top 5 Core Values and use your Cognitive Dissonance to keep them in harmony. Mine are . Integrity . Freedom . Financial Security . Responsibility . Happiness
A really good way of staying motivated and pushing from that feeling of not feeling like it is by mechanically doing it. I'm writing a novel and there are days where I don't feel like writing but I get my notebook out and start writing. I write anything. The same works for when you don't feel like tidying. Make that first push to pick up a box and then you'll pick the rest up.
What I've learned helps me stay consistent is a few things, one is to ignore the I don't want to feelings, and another is to remember how good I feel for example when I complete my morning routine and my day goes much smoother. For those times when I am trying to give something up such as diet coke or say too much social media, I ask myself what is the worst thing that could happen if you never drank another diet coke or looked at Facebook. I realize nothing much.
Great message Marie. The power of consistency. When I do something I know I should e.g exercise I give myself a small reward. I walk several kilometres to my favourite coffee shop and have a cappuccino and walk back home. Always works for me.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on ignoring your feelings. I get so confused because it does seem to be a choice between developing consistency and listening to myself. I wish I understood why this occurs.
I appreciate you and the message. I've been suffering on actually being consistent in the real sense of it. I' m certain with the guidelines you've just listed, my time is now to put on the true consistent coat once and for all.
I looove your channel. I came to this when I searched on RUclips for a way to deal with feeling overwhelmed with all of the things going on in my life and all of the responsibilities as a parent. I feel a million times better just from watching TWO of your videos. It feels like the power to take back my life has been given back to me. Thank you times a million! You have a new subscriber today :)
1. focus on your why 2. pick your battle - ONE at a time 3. schedule your priorities 4. ignore your feelings ("I don't feel like it" etc.) 5. catch the wagon (i.e. falling off it isn't a big deal)
What helped me is actually only thinking about going to the gym or thinking about the start. You could also only think about putting it into your schedule. Instead of this big task you have to complete now you have made it a small task that is easier to accomplish. Then the rest will take care of itself.
Feelings don't need to be ignored, and had better not be. Instead, they can (and ought to) be felt, acknowledged, explored, understood and *released*. (EFT, Sedona Method, NLP's Swish technique, etc. teach the how-to.) This reprograms the mind. Quickly.
Your feelings can sometimes distract you from accomplishing your goals, but feelings like anger can actually push you. Sadness can be just what you need to release the stress, so you can start fresh. I think it's really just the stress that she is talking about ignoring, but I say filter it into passion. I think that's a lot healthier than keeping all of that in.
You could also only think about putting it into your schedule. Instead of this big task you have to complete now you have made it a small task that is easier to accomplish. Then the rest will take care of itself.
one thing at a time. spot on. i want to run but now i'm walking. i'm giving myself a year to begin running. that's *begin* i've been sober a year and a half. i've lost fifty pounds. i do want to quit nicotine and cut sugar, just not tomorrow.
Correction ..That's ..cutting down on eating out peeps..and not cutting eating.!! Eating well is crucial.I try to make food at home, or fuel before leaving..So that I don't Get hungry out. I then just go for small treats..and kind of grabbing sushi once a week. Im excited that Im saving so much now..Sending you and your team huge love. Liah
Thank you for posting this. I feel the knowing my why and doing things consistently will help me succeed. Also ignoring my feelings is a big thing for me. Which I will ignore now because of your tip. You are awesome!
My strategy: get it on my planner. Either having a monthly workout calendar, monthly/weekly goals or tracking some new habbit I wanna start having in my daily life, that has worked for me (most goals might not be fully completed, but at least I worked a bit towards them instead of doing nothing). And also music, that helps so much on my hardest times. P.S.: Marie, I adore your videos :) Thank you for being consistent with them
Wow!!! Well done on another great episode Marie! Thanks for reminding us that's it's not always easy for you and that you don't feel like it at times... I got scared for a minute when you said that as I wake up every Wednesday morning (watching from Australia) and watch your 'Q&A tuesday' episodes religiously for inspiration and focus. Even when you took a 2-week break, I went back to watch some oldies :) Addicted to MarieTV... Thank you for sharing your gift with the world! Consistency is paramount to my success and happiness and something I need to work on so i will re watch it daily until I take action!
One thing that seems to be helping me right now with sticking to my work out is to wake up even earlier than what I would need to squeeze in my workout. I've been giving me a whole extra hour to just slowly wake up while sitting here in my bed and to watch a video or something else after my workout. It's helping cause the mornings feel a lot more calm, more enjoyable, and less dreadful. As a result it's actually easier to wake up early now. That's just my story.
To Do lists have helped me to become more consistent. Listing Short Term and Long Term goals have help me to keep my eye on the prize and see the bigger picture !
That's kind of like only thinking about putting it into your schedule. Instead of this big task you have to complete now you have made it a small task that is easier to accomplish. Then the rest will take care of itself. Good Advice!

Hello Miss , I'm inspired
I am dangerously bad in this, LACK OF FOCUS AND CONSISTENCY
There are two things that help me: One is to connect a new habit with an old one. If I e.g. listen to music every day because I love it, I can connect this with a chore I do not love too much and distract me. The second one is I am very patient and loving with my "I don't wanna do thiiiis!" voice. I do not tell it to shut up, but I explain why it is so much better to do it, why it will feel better and that there is always time for the voice to whine later. It takes a minute longer, but the voice actually often turns into more motivation because I figured out what the real issue was and solved it.
This is some good advice. Thanks
Thank you!!
Wanted to say thank you for sharing this, I want to work on speaking kinder to myself and haven't known where to start. This helps :)
@NiNi Na Thankyou for the wonderful divine direction. God bless you.
@@sonakshi-jl6gq Thank you, I feel very honored. God bless you, too!
Success doesn’t come from something you do occasionally, it comes from what you do consistently. - golden advice
Summarizing and adding a little bit:
Steps to be consistent
1) List all things you want to do.
Find why you love the thing, you want to be consistent at, and then stick to it.

+Lisa Robbin Young Yes!
+Lisa Robbin Young Involving strong emotions shortens this process greatly.
Thanks for the tips!
I've found lowering my personal creative standards a bit has helped me stay more consistent. Completed is better than perfect.
+Amannda Monday Amen to that!
+Amannda Monday I've just come to this idea too.
Still working on this. When it comes to asking big corporations for money though, I believe everything I present to them has to be perfect, so I don’t know.
Yes! I say to myself all the time, it needs to be good, not perfect. It really helps.
Well said
I found batching videos where possible is a fabulous way to ensure you stay consistant
I only workout if I do it sometime before lunch. After noon I feel like my body just slows down too much for it. So I've been lifting weights/doing squats, crunches and planks while my kids play after breakfast for about a year now! I've NEVER been able to be this consistent about exercising.
for me i realized those feelings are samskaras or habituated patterns they will change after u keep repeating a behaviour. basically dont listen to ur feelings theyre just there to keep you safe but you know better. u know truly who u are and u are a winner believe that and u stay consistent. and no matter what happens u stick to your goal. you never get tired and u can always sleep. you're more powerful than you think
believe this and you're unstoppable quit rationalizing bad behaviour believe in urself
I feel lazy.. i'm not feeling good today..maybe some other time.. (the consistent voice in my head.)
Purpose and passion has kept me consistently consistent
“The world needs that special gift that only you have.” 🙏🏻thank you Marie❤️❤️❤️I love that quote.
AmericPet excellent advice, thank you!
Having a Vision of what the end result of that hard work looks like... always motivates me .
Rach M best motivator ever
This is my #1 issue! I heard recently "how you do anything, you do everything" by T. Harv Eker and inconsistent and not completely a task to the end keep showing up. Love these 5 pointers! My number #1 Battle will be to implement this daily! Thanks Marie - again and again and again!
Thanks a LOT for "Bye Felicia" visualization. A LOT.
I've began tracking my progress daily on multiple fronts for 8 months now with beautiful excel spreadsheet with all kinds of charts. It has helped me a lot, they say "What gets measured gets done".
"Yuaaayy ... I dOn'T fEeL liKe DoInG iT" is the only thing I always hear from inside... Then I go and lie on my bed :)
Omg i can relate. I hope things are working out for you right now.
Still doing it?
Willpower as a finite resource is so true. Consistent habits win every time.
For now i keep on listening motivation and listening for the advices from the people who i think more better than me. That keeps me consistent
For me, rewarding myself after accomplishing something consistently has worked tremendously well
What's helped me is following one of Miguel Ruiz's 4 Agreements: whatever you do, make sure you do it 100%!
Scheduling my priorities definitely helps me be consistent. If I know it HAS to be done, I will do it. If it is something that can be done at a later date, I tend to go with the later date.
here is a small tip that I use guys hope it helps!
:- reward your self when u finish the task that u were doing,
example I'm learning a new programming language so when ever I finish studying, i buy my self my favorite snack or play games.
promoting my business I haven't always been consistent with sharing with everyone but I am learning how to push my feelings aside and do what I need to do so I can grow my business.
Oh man she is so spot on with that last statement. That is so me, completely beating myself up for falling off the wagon.
This is great advice but tough to give to masses only because this isn’t always immediately possible to act on.
HAHAHA ..."I dont feel like doing much of anything".....love her for her honesty & being her true-self & not being fake like many out there.
Make the thing you want to be consistent with the first thing to do on your list and do it. I find this really helps! Thanks Marie, love, love, love your vids!
Consistent is my word for 2019 and this video is just what I need to kick off the new year with the right mindset and action steps.
Reminding myself that the euphoria of learning a new skill wears off, and its up to me to persevere if I want to succeed. Especially on the days when those inner voices and my tired body have joined forces...sheer determination has to kick in overdrive.
LuLu B. lol exactly tired body n inner voices r the worst
What helped me is actually only thinking about going to the gym or thinking about the start. I agree with sticking in there when it's difficult, but you could also only think about putting it into your schedule. Instead of this big task you have to complete now you have made it a small task that is easier to accomplish. Then the rest will take care of itself.
FOCUS has been my secret weapon to consistency. The focus comes from the simplest strategic steps that I set in place to get to my intention.
+Nicky Stansbury My strategy to get focussed is to carve out time for one thing and do nothing else during that time. Nothing
+2000 Books THANK You For sharing!
The great tips for me is to listen your every episode consistently Marie. I just devoted of your show.
what hepls me be consistent is making small moves every single day...for example, I want to learn english, so I do this for 20 mintues every single day-every time I get the feeling of this time isn't enough but the satisfication of being consistent really worth it....in the past I was doing English for hours and hours but days ahead I quit, and this is really made me so upset..
Also when I get the feeling of "I don't feel like it", I tell myself: let us try it out and if it really dosen't worth it, then you can stop it...but guess what?! most of the time I find out it really worth it ...and I satisfy myself because I did what I have to do..
thank you for this helpful video..
An inspiration board that I look at every day helps me to focus on my goals
Talented, beautiful, well spoken. Triple threat. Great job!
Keep your eyes on the why.
Pick your battle.
Dont priortize your schedule, schedule your priorities.
Ignore your feelings.
Catch the wagon.
💗💗💗💗💗💗💖
Bullet journaling is a great free form way to be aware of your priorities and less stress if you don't complete every task in one day.
I am 31 now and just had my first child. it is important for me to be consistent in all I do.
focusing on what I am doing instead of getting caught up in the everyday frills that come along with it helps me with consistency.
This makes a lot of sense!
I make the pursuit of each goal part of my daily lifestyle vs. trying to use Will Power to get there. Lay a brick every day and eventually you finish the wall.
My Goals are
. Health
. Financial Security
. Estate
. Entertainment
Will Smith’s approach helps me considerably too. When challenged, just repeat to yourself “ I love myself enough to (not to) …!”.
List your top 5 Core Values and use your Cognitive Dissonance to keep them in harmony.
Mine are
. Integrity
. Freedom
. Financial Security
. Responsibility
My goal and the really long term vision of myself keeps me consistent. :)
This makes so much sense. I was smiling around two three points which actually happens with me. Thank you so much Marie!
A lot of this hit home for me I've always had a fear of failing and looking bad to others I have now subscribed to your videos.
1. focus on your why
2. pick your battle - ONE at a time
3. schedule your priorities
4. ignore your feelings ("I don't feel like it" etc.)
5. catch the wagon (i.e. falling off it isn't a big deal)
I am addicted to your show Marie Forleo
What helped me is actually only thinking about going to the gym or thinking about the start. You could also only think about putting it into your schedule. Instead of this big task you have to complete now you have made it a small task that is easier to accomplish. Then the rest will take care of itself.
Feelings don't need to be ignored, and had better not be. Instead, they can (and ought to) be felt, acknowledged, explored, understood and *released*. (EFT, Sedona Method, NLP's Swish technique, etc. teach the how-to.) This reprograms the mind. Quickly.
NLP is pseudoscientific fake.
arseniy
Despite your opinion of it, some of the things in it produce real results and do it fast.
Always have to come back to this! 💕 to remind myself to focus on one project at a time
Having lunch with Marie on a Friday, what could be better. Sharing your channel with my boss.
thanks. i think we all struggle with being consistent. will keep . these tips in mind
You could also only think about putting it into your schedule. Instead of this big task you have to complete now you have made it a small task that is easier to accomplish. Then the rest will take care of itself.
keep following your principles, no exception
one thing at a time.
spot on.
i want to run but now i'm walking.
i'm giving myself a year to begin running.
that's *begin*
i've been sober a year and a half.
i've lost fifty pounds.
i do want to quit nicotine and cut sugar,
just not tomorrow.
Reminding myself the outcome of my goal and heading to acheive that
She is going to go on my Everyday mentors list, she is amazing woman! 👍
this is the most logical reason on how to be consistent
and i found this 5 years after😭
Thank you Marie 😊
Best timing for me to watch this video. Thank you so mucho Marie ❤️
P.S.: Marie, I adore your videos :) Thank you for being consistent with them
+angie20de06 Putting it on your calendar is probably one of the most under-rated strategies
Consistency is paramount to my success and happiness and something I need to work on so i will re watch it daily until I take action!
good one.. I have given 5 years to my business! and counting!!
I have to write it down in order to stay consistent.
Ignore that feeling to do something else, get things done before doing something else! Keeping my eye on my WHY!
Great tips as always! Love your channel Marie :)
+Yoga with Kassandra Always on fleek!
+Yoga with Kassandra You said it!
Ain't nothing like having a: great big dic2
Ignoring the feelings and getting it done !!!! 🎯
Thanks Marie , Hope this will help me to be consistent .
OMG - This person with this question has the exact issue I have. Awesome steps. Thanks for choosing this question. Smile!
