Pity Kev said to his missus he was coming home, as I would have came and met you. Nevertheless good video mate, nicely filmed. The rough prototype stove still looks good. 🔥
Hi Stripey, or should I start calling you Pasta Bolognaise Guy! 🤣 Another cracking video mate and a stunning location. Thanks for sharing as ever.😀🥾⛰🏴
Absolutely Ervinslens, mentioned it in another comment already but it doesn't harm to say it again - Scotland is probably the most beautiful country I have seen so far 🤩
Great wee adventure Stripey ⛺ pity about the clag ☁️ interesting cooking set up 👌 I loved the owl hooting away 🦉 how did you manage to arrange that 😂 atb Brian 👍
What a great tour we had 😍👍..Great memories in your video 😍..Some brilliant shots as well 😁👌🏻..Bet your still laughing about the tortoise 😉😂.. Cheers Robert
Nice one Stripey I did the same route just last October... and it seems you got the same view from the top as me!!! - great video as always... keep up the good work! ATB - Tom
Hi Stripey 👋. Beautiful places you go, so nice for us to see too. I didn’t know you have matching socks with your hat, so you are actually Stripey hat and sock guy! It was funny when you said you had your trusty pasta, but this time smaller pasta to fit on your spoon, I love the functionality here, that’s very Stripey! I’m looking forward to seeing the final cone design, no rush, as you say it has to be right. But will we be able to make the cone with the average tool kit? Thanks for sharing as always. Serk
Hi Serk 👋, thank you very much, yeah my wife was busy ☺️. The current prototype was build with scissors, carpet knife and a drill so yes it is definitely possible when you can work accurately - otherwise the pot falls through. It just needs more time everything as the template I found online had good ideas in it but it wasn't something I would show or recommend anyone to make - waste of material...money. For know I need to use it many more times to find it's weakness/ what annoys me - adapt this in my cad file and test it again. It just needs some iterations which take more time for me as I usually have only the weekend for testing/adapting/... Also wanted to thank you Serk for always watching and supporting the channel! Thank you Stripey
@@StripeyHatGuy Hi Stripey. You’re a lucky man, my gf won’t be knitting socks for me! It’s worth the effort to have such a lightweight and effective solution for the cone. You’re welcome Stripey, it’s always a pleasure settling down to watch you on you’re adventures. Serk
Great video, did you drive to the station it’s a hell of a road when people race, love it round there so remote, you and murchie have some great camping spots Cheers
Yeah was a long drive down to Rannoch Station, Glen Coe would be shorter but a bit of a longer hike - did this with Robin but we had a rainy day and couldn't do Stob na Cruaiche 😅
Good stuff Stripey, you must have passed our cars as we done Beinn Pharlagain on Saturday . It certainly wasn't the weather for a high camp but a camp at Loch Laidon is just as good ..cheers Stevie
Hi Stevie 👋, yeah definitely possible! Yeah the weather forecast was unfortunately not right but as you said I have slept on much worse places in my life 😎. Thanks Stripey
Nice one Stripey. Would've been good to meet you guys. There was nowhere to camp at Lochan Sron Smeur so me and Robin just headed home. Such a nice morning before the clag rolled in. Love the Stripey socks. 😁
Yeah was a pity that it didn't work out in the evening that we could meet up 😏. Yeah we had a look at the Lochan Sron Smeur as well (just on the map), glad that we decided to add a wee mountain hike as well 😎
Thanks a lot pete! For sure some spots are more photogenic than others but so far I haven't had one 'bad' spot - Scotland is just one of the most beautiful countries I have seen. Just love it, from the rolling hills to the spiky mountains just everything on a small scale available 🤩
You made me laugh with your pasta bolognese, I felt it was adressed directly at me as I keep annoying you about it 😅 . Your wind stopper is quite lite , gone with one blow ! So you dont like setting a tent on a snowy summit where you cant see anything 😁 . Nice shot at 1:04 👌 cant help noticing that if you ever get tired of being called Stripey hat guy that you could change for Stripey sock guy , you have the perfect match 😋 Thanks for the video 👋
Well mate, what can I say maybe, maybe not 😂. Yeah the cone is recently at 29g but I assume after a view alterations which I plan with the laser cutting it should be a little more and hopefully added functionality. Stripey sock guy... obviously I picked the wool myself but apart of being beautiful in my eyes, they are light and warm - just wool 😎 Thanks a lot for always watching 🙌👍 ATB Stripey
How about going a step up from the Ribbell to Manta tech. It may keep your feet dry.I can see you on Dragons den with Stripey’s spagbol pot noodles ,it’s a winner 😊. Cheers James
Hi James, I am personally done with Scarpa...had my La Sportiva for so many years, got new soles etc. still strong. My next boots in the Ribelle HD category will be the La Sportiva aequilibrium lt/st. Haha well we will see where this ends up 😂
Yepp and stiff enough as well. But as I missed this winter I will just wear some trail runners/my la Sportiva Nepal if snow and ice would come back. Said this, in a little fluff like that trail runners are fine with me 😉.
I enjoyed this one. How do you like the MLD (solomid XL?) vs the Tarptent Scarp? Do you prefer one over the other? Or do they have their separate use cases?
Thanks a lot. It is 'just' a duomid, badly pitched 😂. I prefer the duomid - lighter and much better packsize as it doesn't have the poles attached to it (corner studs at the Scarp). Said this the Scarp has a lot of advantages why I haven't sold it (yet?) particular to mention are the two doors, and living experience in rain as by a pyramid you can't really look outside without raining inside... Thanks for watching! ATB Stripey
Hi Stripey,I see you are wearing trail shoes more often when you are out these days and thinking you would be wearing waterproof socks??🤔🤔 What ones would you recommend if you are as I have been wearing trail shoes a few times last year?😃👍🦶
Hi Andy 👋, For most of the grassy hills I do think that trail runners are the comfier choice for my feet - partly as my Scarpa Ribelle HD aren't waterproof anymore so it doesn't make a big difference apart of that the trail runners get quicker dry/the water isn't standing in them 😉. I wear some Sealskinz (all weather), they are alright but I wouldn't wear them above 5C as they seem to be pretty warm for my feet - I am also not sure if it is my sweat or they aren't waterproof but my feet are not bone dry 🤔 and finally, I haven't walked in them more than 17 km so not sure how they are with a proper hike regarding blister's. But I assume your question is rather if I could recommend some waterproof socks...well as soon as it gets a wee bit warmer I will wear my good old trusted wool socks 🤣
@@StripeyHatGuymy family is from here and I visit\cross the Moor from all directions. The bus drivers are good at dropping one off and picking you up when the stop is not necessarily where it is. @barriereid9244 oh that is handy to know thanks a lot! I never walked the full journey, just from king house to the ‚rather west end‘ of Loch Laidon and camped close to the shed. Just a beautiful area and so different 👍

Get the life adventure titanium. I had them folding ones a pain
I got actually just a ‘plastic’ spoon from sea to summit for like £1.5, but yes the folding ones are just a pain after a few uses 😂
