Just found your channel and I'm checking it out!!! Love it so far! I have to tell you a cute "poofing" story. My Mom and I were making a sponge cake from a mix and we added the meringue mix to the mixer.... not thinking, we turned the mixer on to high and the meringue mix POOFED everywhere!!! All over the cupboards, counter and all over us!!! We both looked like someone had dumped flour on our heads. After our initial gasp of shock, we laughed until we could barely breathe. After we composed ourselves, we finished the cake (turned out delish) and spend the next 2 hours scrubbing the kitchen!!! That was over 40 years ago now but I still chuckle every time I add flour etc. to a mixer and it "poofs".
Tried your delicious recipe but made one change: I soaked the raisins in rum for about two days before adding them to the recipe and oh my word! Scrumptious!
I just sent a note the other day hoping to see when you would be back....and you are! You look awesome and your making my favorite cookie....thank you!!!
Lovely- I’ve always wanted a traditional recipe for oatmeal raisin cookies, but living in the UK it’s difficult to find one, especially as a lot of traditional American recipes only give cups & sticks of butter, so thanks for the grams conversion, I’ll give these a go ❤
I did these with xylitol and allulose and they were delicious. (Need combination because allulose burns too fast; can't use erythritol because twice I tried and both times my BP went to the roof, so to the garbage Truvia went). I did half the recipe so I could "experiment". Will definitely make more. Thank you for sharing.
@@kitchenintheshire I just found your channel and all of your recipes sound wonderful!😃❤️ I can’t wait until it gets cool enough to try them out. (I live in Arizona so it doesn’t start cooling off until around mid-October)
There is no vanilla in the recipe used here. I love vanilla, and would have no problem testing this recipe with the vanilla added!! Thank you for commenting!!
i just found you. the cookies look great. BUT could you work out some that are safer for us who have medical conditions? no chocolate or peanuts no caffiene. low to no sugar or salt. very careful with ginger and cinnamon, both of which I love. no mint. no hot peppers.
These cookies are truly a classic and loved by many!! I know we do!! Renee, thank you for sharing! 🥰

Looks good. I've always use the recipe onthe inside of the lid of the Quaker Oatmeal container. I like to add walnuts in addition to the raisins.
