Great episode! And, yes, i always put a clear filter immediately after the sending unit for just such reasons. Cheap insurance and one more layer of cleanliness.
Tony, much much thanks from an old guy learning about his old Mopar.
Wow.....Love the show! AND THAT LIFT!
Thanks guys. Very informative and you guys are jolly spirits too.👍😊
Oh I'm definitely old enough to remember the days of riding my Huffy up to the local auto parts stores and asking the guys there for stickers to put on my bike (and they were always free) the larger ones ended up on my bedroom closet door. Being 8 years old in 1970 was a great time, the music I grew up with was the best and drag racing was filled with colorful characters.
I like the way you blew through that filter big boy. I need my “hose” blown.
You guys “knocked my socks” off on this video. 😆I think I got a tank problem.✌️
It would be great to see you guys do a fuel volume test as part of the diagnosis. That's something that seems to get overlooked these days. Just takes a soda bottle and a rubber hose.
Great video! I recently replaced the carburetor on my 67 F100. The previous owner had that belief that bigger was better and had a Holley 750 on an almost stock 352 FE. I replaced it with a more street-able Holley 600 cfm with a vacuum secondary.
Love watching this channel
Great video. Good resource to use as I go through my restoration. My son bent the original fuel line that goes from the pump to carb for my 1971 f100. He kinked it trying to get it to line up correctly on the fuel pump. Any good source of prebent steel or stainless steel lines for the f100? Trying to do a concourse restoration so I don't want to go the all rubber route. That's why mine had a fuel problem. Not hard to kink them at the bend by the pump.
The best place to install a fuel filter is between the fuel tank and the fuel pump.
awesome vid bud got a prob get in my old chevy pick up with a inline 6 hammer on the pedal couple times to start it it doesnt start have to pump the hell outta it or prime it once running its ok almost seems like accellerator pump is weak or is it the fuel pump ? anything a guy can spray into the carb to clean it up internally instead of taking a carby apart?
Great video
Just had to check the lift out! Did not know I could get one that can move around the shop like that.
Thanks, guys.
Awesome vid
Good info, Jeff and Cam. I had an issue with rust in my fuel tank that would accumulate on the fuel pick up filter while the engine was running; causing enough fuel starvation to make the engine shut down. The rust would fall off of the pick-up after sitting for a while and the engine would then start back up. The cure was to replace the rusty tank. This was a very frustrating experience to say the least.
Man I've blown out all the lines, replaced the sending unit, filter, fuel pump, and now carb and still have the same issue. Fires right up with start fluid but dies instantly.
Watched the last one with the build looks like a great lift I see one in my future. I saw you roll the car on the lift with the casters I was wondering that when I watched the last video did not see anything on there site about how much the casters can handle.
