Sad to see them moving on. First trip on the broads was in silver mystaire loved it. This year we will be using rhapsody originally booked through Silver line now Richardsons. Thank you for this.
Yes, indeed, massive thank YOU to the person who alerted you that this was takng place today. To Silverline, wow, what a show... wish that I was steering one of them *sniff*, ah well. It was great to watch.
What a great video. Seeing the boats going through Reedham, we have lovely memories of hiring so many of these boats over the years. Our favourite was always Silver Whisper. How sad to see the fleet leaving their Brundall home and the end of an era. You always got that personal touch when you hire with Silverline. I will never forget Colin and Robert meeting holiday guests as they drove up the main drive. Always a warm welcome, this was a lovely personal touch that wont be replicated in Stalham. So it looks like new ventures for Robert and I guess time for Lesley and Colin to take it a little easier. Whatever their plans I wish them well in whatever they do. It must have been a real emotional time for the family as the last boat cruised out of the marina.
It must have been very emotional for everyone concerned. A magnificent sight to see them all going past close together. The noise from the water was like nothing I’ve heard before. Thank you for watching, I’m pleased you enjoyed this. 🛥📸
Wow , brilliant , i lost count after about 25 lol , but what a show to see all those boats going past , it was like watching a parade lol , abit of competition for richos boats , thanks for sharing , thats going to make it even more busier for you to video , gulp lol .
Great video! End of an Era! 😢Silver Serenity was such a great boat to Hire and will be remembered with affection. I doubt she’ll get the same care and level of attention at her new home. More boats now based at Stalham will make the Ludham bridge bottle neck on certain days even worse.
Many thanks Lesley for this. Have passed it on to all the family. Just to say: Saying farewell to Silverline and wishing my good friends Lesley and Colin all the best for the future in their retirement. Sad to say goodbye to Silverline at Brundall but hello to all the fleet now housed with Richardsons of Stalham. Great video of all their boats moving to their new future at Richardsons along with son, Robert. Happy Days! With love from all The Hostler family xxx
Fantastic thank you for taking the time to share this wonderful footage. We’re always on the look out for you when we pass ludham bride. Hopefully next year you’ll see the children waving as we pass by
Thank you Tony. I don’t film as much at Ludham these days. I try to vary where I go. Let me know when you’re here and I’ll tell you where I’ll be that day. 😀 🛥 📸
Oh my! How lucky were you to be given the heads up for this special event. It was the busiest the river has been since the end of the season! The look so majestic as they made their way down the river. Thanks for capturing this wonderful event for the rest of us.
Well done Lisa. Such a sad day. Not much left to hire in the South. The Southern Broads are the best if you want peace and quiet and more chance of getting a decent mooring and good pubs if you want them, together with shopping in Norwich , Beccles etc. I did notice this last season most folk started up North but headed for the South immediately to get away from the madness of the Northern Broads. Edited to say , I was looking for Silver Simoom but could not see her. Must be there somewhere.
👋🏻 yes at Reedham, I remember. Thank you. A couple of you waved and then again at Yarmouth. I contemplated filming from Breydon Water but decided Tar Works Road was the better option. 🛥🛥🛥🛥📸 hope you all enjoyed your trip down the river.
It was spectacular. Certainly a day I will remember. As I keep writing in each comment, it was the sound of the water against all the boats as they were all close together, that struck me most. Similar to a cycling race going past at speed. It’s fabulous but you can’t describe it.
Hi Lisa thank for the video, so sad I remember when Richardson's closed Hearts Cruisers at Norwich, my wife and I were the last people to have one of there boats and the lady owner said we could bring back the boat Monday if we wanted instead of Saturday as it was there last day, very sad they had been on the island for years.🥲
In fact the Southern Broads are now very light on hire boatyards. Freedom Boats went, recently. Pacific Cruisers are all that's left, I believe. I'll miss Silverline being deep into the Southern Broads at Brundall. It felt like only the serious boaters (fairly willing to tackle Breydon) went from these parts. Btw, Lisa, this is a wonderful upload by you.....as usual🙂
Wow that was amazing Lisa. Thankyou so much for filming it, even though it made me cry! We have had Silver Myth from Silverline for over 20 years and had a phone call from Hoseasons today to tell us of the change for our bookings for next year. I didn't know the boats were being moved today but I said to my husband, when the fleet is moved I'm sure Lisa will know and film it for us, and you did!!! We are very very sad but so pleased you captured this spectacular site. Always enjoy your videos but this one is so personal to us .Thankyou . we couldn't read the boatyards statement at the end, any chance you could forward it to me? Again many thanks
To all our friends and customers, Robert has secured an order to build boats for Richardsons of Stalham. As this is a major commitment on his part, the fleet is being transferred to their boatyard at Stalham. Lesley & Colin will continue to let out the chalet, Silver Bream, and mooring plots. Thank you for your support over the past 50 years. We know many of you will be surprised at this but hope you will understand our decision.
It was a wonderful sight, one I will always remember. I’m pleased you enjoyed the video, despite obviously feeling sad about it. Thank you both for watching. 🛥🛥🛥🛥📸
That was very impressive Lisa, it looked like they were going against the tide, I know it's very sad that they are leaving Brundall but I have always liked Silverline boats but we were put off by the fact that they were down at the southern end of the Broads, and our favorite places were up the northern end, so if you were only on the Broads for a week it was a whole day just traveling to get to Wroxham and the to return the boat another whole day to get back, , I enjoyed this vlog Lisa thanks 😎😎🖐
Thanks Suzanne, I’m pleased you enjoyed the video. At Reedham they were going with the tide and it was going out very fast. Then at Yarmouth on Bure they were going against it.
It's sad to see yet another of the famous old hire yards disappear from Brundall and the southern rivers. Unfortunately, it looks as though Brundall will soon become one large marina for privately owned 'sea going' cruisers. I remember the time when you could hire boats from yards at Thorpe, Brundall, Loddon, Reedham, St. Olaves, Somerleyton, Oulton Broad, Beccles and Geldeston on the rivers Yare, Waveney and Chet. Now most of those yards are gone forever, either riverside housing or private marinas now taking their place, a sign of the times I suppose. I'm just glad I was able to cruise the rivers and broads in the sixties and seventies, during what was, looking back, the 'golden age' of Norfolk Broads boating...
I'm 100% with you Andrew. My first boating holiday on the Broads was in 1959 and like you say there were boatyards all over the Broads. Looks like the river Ant is going to be even busier on change over day now. I have a fondness for the southern Broads. I hope this migration northward doesn't herald a decline in the facilities available in the south. I imagine Brundle will become a big private marina. You've caught some unique Broads footage Lisa. Thank you.
@@2icelollys1goat snap. I was a solo sailor out of Wroxham for many years. Moore & co were my boatyard. On the opposite side to the Hotel Wroxham. Great boatyard and lovely people. Alas they also are no more. Such a shame.
Is there anywhere left on the south side of the broads to hire or now all north side?i don’t go up the north side after April it’s pure chaos up there until October
Thank you for posting this . Quite emotional really. Very sad that they are leaving Brundle. Have they been brought out or shearing the Richardsons site?

Richo's have had around 18 of their old boats up for sale for a few weeks, I guess they need to make room. I do hope they keep some of their shabbier cheaper boats, not all of us can afford a floating gin palace! :)

Heartbreaking, my Dad used Silverline Serenade for years, he so loved that boat
Would love to have seen that lot at Ludham Bridge.
Yes me too but they stopped the night at Acle and I had to work the following day sadly 🛥️🛥️
