Norfolk Broads Bitesize Series - Norwich To Rockland St Mary

- This bitesize video is more like a banquet than a small mouthful but at just about thirty minutes it just sneaks in.
After a very quick visit to Norwich, we head for Rockland St Mary and see what I first thought was a dog swimming mid river. We bypass Brundall by going over Surlingham Broad and I try to point out what I thought were the Admirals starting and finishing positions when he mudweighted but hadn't accounted for the rise of the tide.

We know that part of the Broads well, as our boat is moored at Brundall Bay Marina. As it happens, we're going to be back onboard again tomorrow for a few days of R&R and we'll probably end up at Rockland Staithe for lunch in the New Inn. Alternatively we'll moor up at Short Dyke and walk down to the pub, to check out the new footpath between the two that has just undergone a make over! Thanks for the video, it seems like we're there already lol :-)

Hi Lawrence, thanks for the correction, I knew it was sprit/pit related. 😂 A bowsprit would be the pointy out bit then.
My knowledge of boating terminology is limited to the pointy part of the boat goes forward. 😂😂
Love it all though dave, I don't know how you have the patience with teaching new crew members, I couldn't do it. All good stuff though👍👍
Thanks Lawrence, I didn't mind having a trainee. It meant I could concentrate on the filming more and not just have a camera stuck on the top of the boat facing forward.
More good work Dave, very enjoyable to watch. I've only cruised on the northern broads, so seeing how nice it is down south I'll be booking another trip soon. Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks Dave, some people worry about crossing Breydon and others don't like the longer cruises between places with less scenery than the Northern rivers. Crossing Breydon shouldn't be an issue if care is taken and the longer cruises aren't an issue for me. 😀

He did OK with a little help on that occasion. He did the bow thrusters and I did the throttle. I don't want people bigging him up too much, he might get big headed. 😂😂
