    Another fantastic teaching video by you Blake. I appreciate how you walk through the tools you’ll be using, explain each step and I especially love that you take time to show the progress and cuts you make... you allow time for us by beginners to see the result from each of your cuts. Thank you so much! Painting video...yes please!

      Thank you for the response Lori! I plan to take this santa all the way through painting so that will give everyone the basics they need to do their own ornament. Thanks for the encouragement and for the kind comments!

    Thanks for a great video. I loved it for so many reasons. You explained everything so patiently and clearly, the tools and the process the pace was perfect. As a very new beginner I was able to follow along and understand the instructions and the extra time you took to pause and allow the viewers to take it in was the best. Thanks again for a great instructional video.

    Very nice. Learning a lot. Any chance of complete body? My daughter hates to see disembodied heads! I usually carve (whittle) with knife only, or perhaps micro gouge to simulate hair. I am learning to appreciate use of additional tools from your tutorials. Thanks, never too late for an old dog to learn new tricks.

    • @lunsfordcarvings
      @lunsfordcarvings  3 года назад

      Thank you! I will probably do a complete body carve. It may have to be in several videos due to the amount of time it takes. Thanks for tuning in and joining me on this journey!

    Outstanding, I love it and will try it. Thanks for sharing this. Just curious as a beginner, what would you sell for at shows? Ok if you don't want to say.

    • @lunsfordcarvings
      @lunsfordcarvings  2 года назад

      Thanks Bruce! It really depends on the size you go with and the amount of detail that you put into your unique piece. I don't sale many carvings so it would be hard for me to say.

    • @lunsfordcarvings

      I'll put a female on my list of videos. That's a pretty complex process, but would be a good one to do a demonstration on.

    Greetings! What size is the #9 gouge?

    • @lunsfordcarvings
      @lunsfordcarvings  3 года назад

      I use mostly about a 1/4” #9 for things like eyes and beside of the nose. The one I use is a Denny but any about that size should work.
