Very well done
Send me a piece of that wood.😅
LOL sure!
Thank you m, Blake! Looking forward to sending more videos!
I carve Santa like this but not near as well 😂
I wish lmao
I noticed there are different "grits" for aluminum oxide powder. which one do you suggest? So sorry I am new to wood carving. Thank You so much for your videos.
I'm unsure the grit. I purchased it at a woodcarving show in Charlotte NC and it was what they were providing for carvers. If you can't find that, I would try zam buffing compound.
I like how clean you keep your roughing stages. Also you allow more time to show the results than most presenters. Great camera work too. These 3 features set a nice pace for students. You also explain well what you’re doing and why. Thanks for this.
Really would have liked actually being able to see what and how you were doing this carving.
Sometimes it is difficult to record when you don't have any help. Check out my video on International Association of Wood Carvers for more of the details.
Do you sell these?
@@2RoyZeringue I do towards the end of the year!
Very informative. Thank you.
Great video
@@gingervary296 Thanks so much!0

@@CletusGortner1 Thanks for following along!!
Very relaxing.
Great carving
Nice collection!
That music gave me a chuckle.
I hope you find time to do more videos! I genuinely love the way you are with tutorials and always get alot from watching. Great looking ornaments buddy!!
Let’s get ‘em carved, just finished fall carvings, I’m on it for Christmas 👍
good day, just a little constructive comment. You should put the camera on the other side, over your left arm to see if it is better. Have a great day.
Thanks! This was done a while back. I plan to do more in the future.
@@lunsfordcarvings thanks for your great work. I’m a big fan of your work and the things that you do for this community ! Big thanks.

Excellent presentation Blake. Thanks.
Thanks so much!!
What micron/grit, Aluminium oxide would i buy please?
Flexcut compound is Aluminum oxide and Titanium mix.
Many thanks. Great tutorial. I checked your videos but couldn’t find the follow up details carving. Did you do one?
Not yet, but it should be coming the near future!
Ok. Many thanks. I'll wait in eager anticipation.
I’m late but man you are so helpful it ain’t even funny no seriously thank you so much Blake I love back tracking all of your videos!!! One question do I spray some bass wood I have that’s too hard with ? What mixture ? Thank u again brother
You definitely can spray it with a mixture of rubbing alcohol and water and that will help to soften it. I think the longer wood sits, the harder it gets. Thanks so much for the kind comments. You can also find more content over on International Association of Wood Carvers. Thanks!!
Genial
YOU ARE AMAZING BECAUSE YOUR NOT ONLY A CLAY SCULPTURE YOU ARE ALSO A LIVING STATUE AS WELL
Well, I managed it so far. Sort of 🙂 Didn't have 2 x 2 so had to scale it down a bit. After painting I might feel brave enough and post it on whittling group 🤔 Great set of videos, nice bite sized chunks and really good instructions. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for following along. Check out my other video on International Association of Wood Carvers!
Do one of your caricature faces! Better yet the hole guy! Please Thanks for this video! I know it's an old one but I am just now carving it!
I’m doing a week of soap carving with my mom (I’m trying to find vids to watch with her for this) and while you’re using a different medium this is such an amazing tutorial, and will be so helpful! I hope to see more from you!
Thank you! I am also the host on the International Association of Wood Carvers channel if you want to look there for more tutorials. Thanks for following along!
Oltre ad essere un talentuoso, sei anche un ottimo caricaturista. Complimenti. Ti seguo e sono iscritto dall'Italia. Vorrei essere bravo come te. Ciao

😊😊😊😊WOW!! Very talented!!!😊😊😊
Thanks so much!
Nicely done Blake
Thank you!
Love how the beard fits perfectly in between the cracks!
Thank you!
Hi there Blake. How long do you let your carvings dry after dabbing off the boiled linseed oil? It seems like you don't wait too long, but I've been told by a couple to wait a few days before painting after applying the BLO. Thanks and love your videos!
Hey! I usually just paint them wet right after I get the excess BLO off the carving. It actually helps the paint blend and gives you a good finish. You can wait for it to dry, but it is not necessary.
Who makes / sells a soft V- palm tool? Thanks
I purchased mine from Drake. Every now and then you can find them on ebay. You can also check with the Whittle Shack as I think they are getting some in to sell.
Thank you for reply. Appreciate very much. And thanks for sharing your Santa carving techniques. Has been very helpful.@@lunsfordcarvings
