The only painful part of these builds is how long they take to be uploaded; out the sea of general absolute trash bike rebuilds that seems on the rise it's great to see somebody do it properly, I'd like to see more of the troubleshooting etc for a bit more content; love the troubleshooting aspect. I think I've said before but this build is a refreshing series to see and I appreciate the time and energy you've put into it.
Hi Taylor, really nice work on the absolute pinnacle of motorcycles. I’m from Portland also and have a unique 916 SP3. It’s with me here in Phuket, Thailand.
That dash bracket is The Hidden Shame. Every build has a worst part, usually something minor, always something unseen but the builder knows of The Hidden Shame. It eats at the soul and drives one mad. My hidden shame is a seat bracket.
Hahahahha you are dead on. And I really did want to make a new one, but I know no one will ever see it and I kinda love that there’s something SO egregiously ghetto on such a ridiculous bike. I had the black paint out to give it a quick coat and even decided against that. 🤷♂️
Taylor, fantastic job and a gob smacking livery. Shame that the weather didn't want to play for its first outing.... make sure you post something once you get to ride it in anger on the track! after that, there will be only one thing to do.... another project!!!! Keep up the good work.
Absolutely fantastic! I've been working with Ducatis for a very long time and you've done a GREAT job! What a cool bike. You should be very proud of it.
As chuffed as I am to see it finished, I'm also a bit sad as I've loved every part of this build! Also, my hat's off to you for actually planning on riding it properly, that takes some serious guts seeing as most parts on that bike is unobtainium! Can we have another project soon, pretty please? It doesnt matter if it's a fucking moped, the cinematography and your on screen persona will make anything super enjoyable and interesting!
Oh man, we’re not done with the videos of this thing. We’ve still got development and track days, plus I’m trying to finagle some decently famous riders to take it out. And there may or may not be another project in the wings 🤔 And thank you for the kind words. I’ve never done or wanted to do YT stuff, but I do love sharing cool things and I am really happy you dig it so much.
Loved every part of this series, by far the best motorcycle content on RUclips 🤘 can't wait for some track action and to see what your next project will 🔥🦆
Wery exiting video series! What kind of tyres did you put on? And about the weight: You was talking about 300 lbs (is that really possible?), where did it ends? Dyno test? And it was a 748, as a starting point, not a 916.... How much longer is the new swingarm? The 999 wheelbase was about 1 cm longer than the 916, and the 1098/1198 was about 2 cm longer.
@@patbushell9390 Weird. The CEL was always on for me. And it doesn’t change that of the three dyno guys I’ve talked to, they all said to stick with the stock ECU. Ah well. I still think they’re an excellent idea, but ah well.
@@patbushell9390Also, we do plan on dyno tuning this. It is VERY easy to put a custom map on a stock ECU. Just don’t want anyone to think we’re leaving it with some factory tune.
I was so excited to see this machine actually on track and y'all tapped out because of a'lil rain??? I'm actually gutted... Like I know it's NOT still raining, get that machine on track and let's see what it really does. If not, at least do a few dyne pulls...
Seriously, we were/are excited too. And we did actually get it out and do a few laps, but some issues reared their ugly heads. No big deal, just some clutch stuff. Unfortunately, that delayed us just long enough to get in to the winter season without enough footage for a whole episode. This bike will DEFINITELY get on track. We have many plans for the old thing, don't you worry.
CorsaGarage FTW!! I have a 1098 swapped on myself...loveeeee this machine even more than my V4
Just noticed that the ignition is on the left, never seen anyone put them on that side 🤔
Only because of space constraints. I’ve seen a few others do it. It’s pretty funny to watch people be momentarily confused.
You know how long I’ve been waiting on this ?! Never heard of soso until these videos. But I’m in the Midwest so it’s a long drive. Maybe one day.
Comments like this give me life! Thank you for hanging on. I know damn well how long it’s taken.

I've enjoyed watching the series. Thank you for creating!

Loved the build series, hope to see a race series. Thanks for sharing.
This has been one hell of a build ! love it ! Can't wait for more captivating builds like this!

Amazing journey and and some continued suspense! Damn weather… Looking forward to seeing you give it that long awaited proper shakedown soon…❤
We’ll get there soon, my friend. And I swear it wasn’t plannned. Hahhaa
Been a great series to watch, the livery by HelloCousteau looks great on the bike!
Thank you! I was pretty nervous going with pink, but I am SO stoked that everyone seems to really dig it. I absolutely love it!

@@taylorwlaird YAY!!! 😁
Also I commented before finishing the video, that livery... Never seen anything like it. Incredible.

The best? Oh, you flatter me so. Thank you so dang much.
Well done, epic build. Love all the Corse & unobtanium and pretty bits. Looking forward to seeing the bike stretch its legs soon!
Thank you so much. I’m glad other hardcore Ducati nerds get some joy out of this ridiculous “budget RS.”
Taylor - the bike looks and sounds (and IS) rad!! Bummer you didn’t get to give it a shakedown thrash, but we’ll be here waiting!!
Thank you! I’m kinda blown away at how well it turned out 😍
@@taylorwlaird I’m waiting for that one too… testing and track set up is worth an entire video for sure.
came out so well.
Looks good sounds good. There are so many little trick bits on it. Been looking forward to seeing it complete. Needless to say you outdid yourself
Thank you!! And thank you for always commenting and encouraging me!
Damn she sounds SoSo good! Nice build and thanks for documenting the prosess. I hope to have this done to my 748 one day.
I can't state how uncontrollably envious I am. I've bought a frame to do a similar build; arrived today - bent like a banana. Dream dashed.
Oh, that's awful. I hope you can get another good frame and live that dream!
@@taylorwlaird thanks dude x
Hope the weather allowed you to ride it ! Enjoy the bike and good seeing you last year at Laguna .
Sweet!! Its nice to be done with a build but now its time to enjoy (come on good weather)!!!!
It’s a fantastic build. I am jealous and wish it was mine👍🏻
dig the air filter set up
My bad forgot top triple is tapered ! Very pretty!
whoa! ...sub'd!
Would be good to see it on a dyno 👍
It’ll happen soon! We need a proper dyno tune on the old thing, as it’s just got a 1098 70mm Termi tune and definitely needs dialing.
Wery exiting video series!

Why not just get a Microtec ECU and also have the ability to tune the engine?
I had one for it and it was unanimously hated on by every dyno guy I talked to. Plus, with the immo still active, the CEL was on regardless.
@@taylorwlaird. I have them on 3 of my bikes with no issues and Microtec does not look for the immobilizer. It will work with any dash and key.

Do you think is it possibile to install the 916 fairings on a ducati 848/1098?

The sound is just so off putting😂 clackclackclack. Never will understand it. 😅
Some people love it, some don't. Most people start off hating it, then find themselves buying open clutch covers and reveling in it.
