Nice bike man! I got my first Ducati about 5 months ago, a 2008 1098. I love this thing so far. Can't wait for spring so I can get it back out. Be safe!
I got my first Ducati this summer as well. Found a 2010 1198s with 800 miles on it. Steal of a deal. Absolutely fell in love with it as soon as I got on it. The ride and feel is so unique. Enjoy the ride and be safe! Subscribed to follow your journey with the bike!
Definitely! Very unique! Thank you! Which state are you on with yours?! It’s definitely a special bike for sure. If not this generation of Ducati I honestly wasn’t interested in having a bike.
@@SublyminalTV I'm in Northern Michigan. Picked up the bike in the Detroit area. I think this body style just looks sooooo good. Everyone compliments it. Lots of "oh that's not just a regular crotch rocket, it's a Ducati!". I just love the red with a matching red frame. Just so much fun to ride!
@@ForrestMarble same man! There was one closer to me with the same specs except for it had the silver frame. I was willing to travel farther for the red frame. I am thinking to do the wheels gold or bronze though
@@SublyminalTV Funny you mention the bronze wheels. I was talking with a buddy of mine last night and he suggested the same thing and was thing about getting some gold ones for his FZ09. I think I would have to see them on the bike before I could commit to buying them.
You won't regret pulling the trigger on this. I bought a very clean, bright red 1198 this year. Not a bike I'd want for an "only" bike -- I've got a 20 year old BMW Boxer Cup bike that remains my "go to." But just looking at the Ducati in my shop justifies my decision to buy ( I'm 73 years old by the way.) I enjoy speed and performance -- Ferrari thrills for 1 20th of the price. My Beemer is a real boxer cup racer ( not a replica.) It's got umphhh. but as I expected the Ducati is a whole 'nother ball game. With cooler weather coming I'll be putting on full gear and riding it more. I'm already comfortable on it -- but haven't come close to it's ( and my) potential. Haven't even hit red line from 1st to second gear! Things happen very quickly. I'm a ski racer too, so I'm not a stranger to all this -- but that's why I "had to have it." Just approach this bike with a lot of respect -- that's my best advice. Congratulations man!
You spoke music to my ears when you said just looking at the Ducati. I rode bikes all my life growing up, but I took a very long break from them seeing a lot of time and money with cars over the years mostly. This was the only bike that kept catching my attention if I must return, and even though I might not find a whole lot of time to ride (I will try for sure), just looking at it gets me going. I figured it to be a great piece of art for the living room making it well worth it
Picked up a 1098 in spring. Great bike but so far it's needed fork seals, a new voltage rectifier/regulator, and the radiator developed a leak on the top left near the bracket. The recitifier and rad are both weak points for this bike but there are improved aftermarket options. Will need to do the timing belts over winter (every 4 years regardless of mileage). And then there are all the custom tools to buy if you're going to do any of the work yourself. Nice that you scored the front pitbull stand as those are a small fortune. So they're right - it's like owning a Ferrari in both the good and bad sense 🙂
Thanks for the info! I think the radiator has been addressed on this one, but I will have to get to that regulator. I suppose I’ll do it this winter. I do own a Ferrari as well and I wrench on it so this it’ll be fun to find the custom tools and figure it all out! Which state are you in with yours?!
Awesome video bro. I’m super Happy for you. I have a 999R and a 1098S Tricolore. Love loud clutches cause they save lives. LoL love Ducati! Be safe n enjoy man. You deserve it bro! ✌🏼 from Palm Beach Fl
Once you get a Duc nothing else will ever compare. I've always rode Japanese bikes mostly Suzuki but I purchased a 996 just because I got a great deal on it. I was planning on reselling it but I made the mistake of riding it now it's not going nowhere 👍
I agree lol. I use to have Kawasaki ninjas then went over to R1. The Ducati is just different. Funny think is onlookers know or because I’ve never had people in traffic stare at the Japanese bikes. Like they are just another bike. But the Duc always get ppl going and conversations started
Just pick up 1198 s love the. Body. It’s sexy. God bless me with it. Timeless sexy bike. Keeping it for life. Outing her. Nex to my Porsche I got the same. Red like you after. The one that I seen was a 1098S and then found 1198 was the same bike, I am very happy. I made my business to add to My garage. I love your channel your content and you have great taste the 360 is fire.
I'm getting my 1198 soon! 😎 But i can a 200 tire be fitted on the bike without any adjustments? I kinda heard you guys talking about it, so an awnser would be highly appreciated!
Yikes, taking a kid out with no protective clothing on made me seriously uncomfortable 😣 I'm glad no-one hit you and sent her tumbling down the road with bare skin, this time.
Stunning bike, but stunning lack of safery gear, and.taking his daughter with a t shirt? Holy shit. On a 1098?? Sorry, but that's ridiculous. If you can't wear the gear, dont ride.
As a 1198s owner all I can say is congrats man, you gonna fall in love.
