that scammer saying "high speed internet" while the call was slowly degrading into robotic gibberish just killed me.
The funny thing is that Bell, an internet company in Canada, started ads this month, oct 2020, where the sound gets robotic. They use to have 1.5 Gbps and I don't where they are at now.
AOL tech support selling a 5G software upgrade makes total sense right?
But do they offer 5G for under $5G?

I guess scammers are upgrading their Technology and Scripts
I'm currently working for the AOL billing department , they hire people from Philippines and Romania because it is way cheaper to do so, and they still provide internet service but only dial up for the monthly paying customers .
You would be surprised how many calls we have each day and still many use the dial up from aol in 2020 not even mentioning about the amounts of people using Aol Mail , which is a very unsafe place to keep your emails nowadays . Sometimes the emails disappear all of a sudden and the only way to recover them is to pay a montly membership which is very hard to cancel once you get billed once.
They even took a step further with the pandemic not to cancel or refund money anymore by pretending that the cancelation department is closed although the billing department is still open. They won't allow us to help our customers cancel but only let them know that they can call later when "hopefully " the cancelation reopens.
“don’t worry I will install the 5G” damn I wonder if he could help me download some more ram while he’s at it

@BrianzMe While the situation is sad, those people shouldnt be felt sorry for. There are many, MANY MANY people in India who work legitimate Jobs, many of those jobs are physically very straining, and they probably earn less than half what he gets from scamming people. Those are the people you should feel sorry for. I'm aware that that is the reason why many choose a life of crime, but it IS still a crime, and they destroy peoples lives.

You have to cinsider how absolutely annoyingly monotone a work day is for a scammer. The same script every day. The same people yelling because they got scammed. I don't think there is much positive in it. Especially also because it is a step down the career ladder. There is nothing to be proud of. So I think some scammers get attracted by these absurd scam baits because they represent something they are not used to. It's like watching theater.

Have you considered covering Facebook scammers who take over recently deceits members Facebook accounts in order to trick there friends and family out of money and such.
He said on stream that he can't do much about it, he would need to have access to someone's personal Facebook to do something about it. And it's not something viable on stream
