I relate to this song so much. I'm 14 years old my brother has been in jail 2 times he introduced me to drugs I still look up to him he's my best friend. He got in a wreck 2 days ago he could've died he had so much in his system he broke his back. But he's still on the streets. I try to tell him to come home I try to tell him I love him I want him to talk to me I want him to be there for me.

My brother isn't your average prisoner in a cell with steel bars. He's a prisoner to drugs. Because of them I haven't talked to him in 1 year and 7 months. He never tried to reply to me, but he read my messages. I asked him to listen to this song and think of it in my point of view and about 5 days later he said he wanted to become clean.

damn, all that sad, I just got out of prison for 3rd degree murder, drugs, robbing, unlicenced guns, and assault on an officer. to all them kids out there that think they wanna be in a gang or be fast, it's not the life to choose. I was 19 when I got locked up, no mom no dad, so I was selling drugs at the age of 11, I'm out on probation from a 16 year sentence, I got out bc of good behavior.

My brother spent about a total of 5 years in prison. I know all about the short phone calls and wanting to tell him something but he had to go for count and lockdown. Last December he got out and was drug free for about 5 months when he overdosed. His buddies tried to help him but by the time the ambulance came it was too late. this is deep, I didn't grow up with my brother, even tho he did me dirty when I did get to know him I never held on to what he did cos I know he was struggling with addiction. I wrote him when he was in prison to let him know I loved him and I missed him, and that he will still always be my brother even if we have the same dad different mothers, he is blood, people make mistakes so who am I to judge. He is doing good now working and living it up, while I sit in his place doing drugs and getting myself involved in a bunch of stuff I never wanted to be a part of,pretty soon I'll be sitting where he was and hopefully he will end up showing me the same love if not, I still won't hate him I am proud that he moved on from a life he should of never thought he had to favor, our dad been sitting in the big house since we were kids we never got a chance to get to know him so we followed in his foot steps because no one showed is different they all never gave us a chance they all said we would end up like him, so we did, to bad no one could of told us different put us on a path that would help us be greater, still don't matter because one day we gonna piss off them haters and make them look foolish to ever put it in our heads as kids that we would never be anything in life but drug addicts and alcoholics.

So proud of you. I wrote songs for my brother while he was incarcerated ..... Helped him make $ that way so he could survive. I had written one or two while he was incarcerated about him coming home and being free as well. Lost one but managed to get the other to someone and they made a record... I choose to not want to remember the groups name.... The scars were to deep. I stopped writing for years and l am much older now... My vocal chords are kind of rusty lol. So everyone pray my pipes get back to a better state than years past. I want to be a blessing and an inspiration just a few more times. Seeing you do this inspires me and so last year l started writing again.... Did a CD with my seeds just one song and pray the gentleman that help us do it be fair and give us the demo soon. This is not about me it's about reaching and teaching and healing our communities one at a time... My music is not for me it's for you and all around... Pray for me... Thanks for those lyrics. I pray one day all your prayers are granted sooner than you think and that all your finances for your entire house hold is met.....
