- They weren't very fond of me even though I've been with them since they were babies, but now they let me hold them and they like to sit in my hand like a nest. They also greet me when I walk up to the aviary and fly on me when I walk in.
Those are beautiful sweet birds! You are such a good person to them. They love you!

Can doves be tamed like pigeon that they dont why away when you let them out?
Sharaz Cheema what do you mean let out, like outside in the backyard or in the house? doves probably won't come back like a pigeon does cuz their homing instincts aren't as good as pigeons but in the house they're kinda calm but be careful nothing is around that could hurt them if they happen to fly around (burning stove, ceiling fans, close window blinds so they don't crash in, close toilet seats etc)

@@uabir8338 they're both in the same family but these birds are not capable of what pigeons are good at: natural homing instincts. domesticated doves will die if they are released into the wild
I watch mine fly in house at times, they are not as smart as pigeon, I lost one to hawk real quick, my doves are not the wild type morning doves evenin they get attack but they are wild, they are smarter than the ringneck doves, Have to build sturdy big outdoor aviary cage , plus my birds are need warmth inside, if your cage is outside they still need to watched after, foxes raccoons may get em
