Excellent video. Especially like the tip of jacking up one side for more complete pan drainage. Also like you attention to detail wiping out the filter cannister and using that cardboard splatter flap. Also agree with your more frequent changes at 1/2 dealer rec. Thanks for helpful , easy to follow video.
Thank you for the video, you might want to consider pouring 1/2 a liter into the engine while the drain plug is off. This flushes some of the old oil out of the bottom of the pan. Nice job jacking the car up to get more out.
I love the way you let the filter drip clean. Great tip thank you. A question; how do I physically check the power steering fluid level on my 2019(the same) sprinter van. 3.0L diesel. Baffled me completely
Thanks! Very helpful. Maybe a silly question, but how do you keep your engine area so clean? Do you wipe it down? Mine isn’t filthy, but after 40k miles it is definitely not as clean as yours.
I have a 2007 R320CDI with an OM642 at 164 K miles. I use an oil suction tank and I change oil and filter at 5000 miles instead of going to 10K miles. Hengst oil filters come with all the necessary pieces. I use either Liqui Moly or Mobil 1 10-40 Diesel oil. I dont have to go under the car .
Thanks! The dealer charges $200 for this service. Especially with the filter on the top of the engine there is absolutely no reason not to do this ourselves!
What dealer does this service for $200? Oil, filter and Fuel filter was over $300 in parts. I would question what they are actually doing at that price.
@Ultimate D I Y Can you clarify the ignition sequence? Do you mean push it once to accessory mode, push again to shut off, and then push again and start engine??
I service these sprinters. If fully warmed engine and drained it will take 13.5 quarts to be at exact max for 3.0 V6 diesel. Filters for mercedes used to be MANN now its different brand. Mobil ESP oil also good to use available at autozone for cheaper.
Why sponsor the dealer when you can also buy cheaper a MANN HU821x filter that Mercedes Benz also uses? This applies to oil, fuel and air filter, initial assembly at Mercedes Benz factory is always MANN
Did you use a oil flush first. I believe you add it , run the motor for 15 min then drain it when it's no longer hot but still warm. Otherwise a great help and good suggestions. thanks
Man, I wish I could afford one of those. I'm a medical courier and there's a dozen jobs in my area I could be running right now, but they all require a van.
You can save yourself some more money by using Mobil 1 synthetic oil for diesels and WIX oil filters. NAPA oil filters are WIX filters. Costco has Mobil 1 diesel oil. NAPA fuel filters are also top quality. Dealers are way over priced.
Be careful Mobil One has 36 different Oils under the Mobil One name, only one of them (ESP) meets the MB Spec of 5W30, 229.52! Has far has the filter is concerned you would be foolish to buy a non OEM Parts, the Parts Warranty alone makes it worth it. Also, when your Service History can show that you used only OEM Parts there is no question that you followed the MB recommendations! I even used MB Oil because it was price competitive with everyone else.
Change your oil people .its like fine carbon dust in your bearings Oil cheap. New motor ??.my relative lost a newer jeep motor over a cooked valve seal . 8000 $ to fix. ??
Thank you so much. Used your vid twice already 🙌🏼

I like that tip
That’s not a jack point. It will cause terrible damage to a Sprinter.
Great content
Straightforward thank you!

It will cost u more then $100 in parts alone. Of dealer charges $200 its cheap😊
G8 work man! That's how it should be done!
Why are you getting everything from the dealer? Surely there are other options that would be cheaper
Can you share with me how to change the mileage for next service interval. I have a 2019 sprinter basic dash

Is there a fuel filter change we should be doing at the same time?
Many thanks man. Very helpful video. Bless.

Do you have any links to manufactures for this product??
No I can't help you there but if you write to the author ( Ultimate DYI) then he may be able to help you
What happens to the crush washer on the oil plug when you take off the oil plug to let the old oil out of the oil pan?
If you don’t have a heavy duty jack. then, drive your right wheel up on her ramp, or Block, for the same effect!
I couldn't find the filter cup set on Amazon,if you could share a link would be awesome
I let it drain overnight.I put 11qt to the max line.Don't know why.
Thank you, sir !!
Great videos!

How many pound-feet you set your torque wrench?
Man, I wish I could afford one of those. I'm a medical courier and there's a dozen jobs in my area I could be running right now, but they all require a van.

👍
@10:02, you forgot to install the tiny “O” ring at the tip. Recall you earlier used the hook to remove it.
Watch the video carefully I did replace the tiny O Ring on the tip of the filter holder
