I just found this video, 20 min after I made the same mistake with the gasket, and sprayed 2 liters of oil all over the place. Thanks for leaving that in it makes me feel just a little bit better. Lol
Can you post the link to the web page that shows approved oil for Mercedes vans? I have been having a difficult time finding any sort of maintenance documentation from Mercedes. They seem to be trying to make it difficult to do it yourself. :)
thanks for this video. You are very courageous for doing this yourself and you did a nice job! You've convinced me to take our 2017 Sprinter to the dealer for our maintenance, however. I don't feel comfortable taking everything apart like you had to do. thanks again.
Hi Kevin, I saw you changed out the NOS senor on one of your video. I just wonder have you file for Approved Emission Modifications ("AEMs") from Mercedes? I filed my sprinter and they repaired changed out the nos sensor and got a check for the settlement,
WELL DONE👍🏻👍🏻👌🏻👌🏻🤗🤗🤗 wow, you're better as i thought you ate. Not bad and i'm from Mercedes land . . . but prefer BMW 😉😇 ... just have no Van yet. Nice Vid.
The missed oil filter oring can be a costly mistake. Gladly you caught it. I've seen experienced mechanics make that mistake. It's good to do your own work when you can. It get you familiar with your vehicle and let's you look for other potential issues while you are at it. One of the biggest problems with the European imports is cost of general maintenance. Most people prefer to pay for it rather than do it themselves. One tip that applies to any vehicle is to keep an eye for mice that love to build nests under the plastic cowling. I'd love to hear how the power is on the 4 cylinder. I see you are getting excellent mileage.
yeppers, could have been really bad!!! 4 cyclinder is great on MPG we haven't had any issues and the turbo is able to keep us moving along, sometimes the pedal is to the metal on steep inclines but we're almost at max GVWR so
I wanted a Sprinter until I watched this procedure on another channel. My Chev 6.2 diesel van has a firewall mounted marine type Racor Fuel filter/water separator that is fully accessible without removing ANYTHING . Unscrew lid by it's T handle, pull out filter, loosen lower drain vent to vent accumulated water, put in new filter, replace small T handle & lid gaskets included with filter & Presto! done. Sorry Benz.... Thank you for you video though!
Hell no! For all my diesel cars,Touareg TDI, Cayenne diesel and my Airstream Interstate, 3.0 V6 diesel one kind of oil ! Liquid Moly , the only one,Period!!

Great video! Thanks from all MB Sprinter owners north of the 49’th.
I used to love doing all my own mechanicals. No more. I have a 2014 with 4 cyl engine. Love it Keeping my van very light

You got it! I wish the computer system wasn’t so sophisticated in the vehicle it would make repairs and maintenance a lot easier!
I have a 2021 mercedes sprinter 2500 with the same engine. But no come with the dipstick. The dipstick in your truck fix in the 2019-22’ gen?
Thank you 🙏
tuto de professionnel merci
Great buddy !
Pretty laborious... Prize to pay for nice covered engine. Easy oil drain tho. What's the interval for diesel fuel filter/separator?
I believe every 20,000 miles but don’t quote me!

Thank you so much. I really appreciated it. very good video
Thank you for watching!!!
Does this oil meet mb requirements ? 229.31 , 229.51 or 228.51 ?
229.51 👍🏻
You didn’t have to depressurization the fuel lines by removing the fuel pump fuse? I’m curious cause I don’t want diesel spraying everywhere
Your Sprinter is 2019 model or earlier?
2015 👌🏻

Fuel Filter change only at Service B !
When you take the o rings off don't use a screw driver you'll damage the surface. Just pinch them, then hook it off..
Oil filter not the fuel filter. LOL!
Just like all the filters, made in Germany.
That's a lot of work😬
Holy Shit, way too many clips for a fuel filter.
Haha yes it is!
Hell no! For all my diesel cars,Touareg TDI, Cayenne diesel and my Airstream Interstate, 3.0 V6 diesel one kind of oil ! Liquid Moly , the only one,Period!!
only ze Germans could design a stupid ass oil filter with 3 gaskets
Never buy a def vehicle
