  • In this video I'm diagnosing a clogged condensate drain on a 90% Carrier Furnace in a pretty nasty crawl space. this was a peculiar find because the condensate pressure switch was making intermittent contact, so it wasn't enough to throw a fault on the board but you can hear the switch ticking so it's pretty apparent with the issue was. Got the condensate trap cleared out checked all the furnace operations, combustion analysis and she was good to go.

Appreciate that! Yeah people don't have much respect for crawl space installs here in the Carolinas I guess there just trying to get in and out of there

Great video man! I do have some questions. Is using water the best method for cleaning out those condensate traps? Also the 90 degree rubber fitting connecting to the condensate trap does one end have a clamp and the other end is just placed in the 3/4 PVC elbow?

never thought to do the combustion test outside instead of sitting in a crawlspace

anytime i come across a pressure switch issue, the very first thing I do is clean the condensate trap and all the tubings, this is always the case!

I don’t know what it is about those traps specifically but they seem to get stopped up really easy.

True probably didn't help that the 1/2 inch rubber tube coming from the heat exchanger cover was just placed into the 3/4 inch PVC 90 to drain with no seal so I'm sure insects and things crawl into it over time
