. HVAC system is 30 years old. The only time the condensate drain plugged was because of ice in the winter. Has a condsenate pump hooked to line for AC, furncace and humidifier, never has clogged. It drains to inside drain.

I had a carrier furnace that when I would run just the blower and use a barbecue lighter in the burner inlet on the far right it would push the flame back a bunch. But when the furnace would run it was fine. Come to find out the carrier furnace has an insulated gasket that just must of been letting air from the blower push pass.

At 0:36, you are missing a screw and thats what's causing that flame to dance. That is not a cracked heat exchanger

thanks for your video. Watched a dozen videos prior. They helped diagnose the overall system but this video helped me conclude my gas valve has an internal short. Thanks for the help. It's 6F out and 40F indoor. Hoping to swap it out and have it fixed tomorrow.

I think that was wonderful I am new at doing maintenance for a lot of things and I didn't put them white sleeves on their extenders and I got nothing but problems again and I had the same problem they did not give me a long enough bolt. They definitely didn't think that's through thank you for the video

That prefabricated trap on the side is notorious for getting sediment & crud deep in it. Had me running round & round till I took it completely off & blew it out with compressed air twice. (I didn’t do a good job the first time) That crud in the trap backed up the condensate water into the system causing a pressure switch code.

That was a blockage for a plumber I reckon. Nice job finding it.

I have exactly the same issue, my valve has different resistance and it shorts when engaged... Your video confirmed my suspicions, thanks! BTW, can I just swap the coil (plastic) part w/o disconnecting gas pipes? EDIT: so there's no reason to replace that whole thing, in fact, no reason for new valve. Also, measuring it will not do any good since there's a bridge and a capacitor inside so results will vary. In my case, the problem was shorted diode in the bridge, so I replaced them all (4x 1N4007, <$1) Will post a video later on

What not to do when you smell gas and look for the leak. Open up any and all windows and doors to ventilate the area. Rookie was lucky he didn't end up on the street embedded in the roof.
