You have to watch the call & response that immediately followed this. Had the crowd in the palm of his hands. Queen is given credit for introducing speed metal with Stone Cold Crazy. Then covered by Metallica.
This was the ultimate front man. Nobody has ever controlled a crowd in this way; if you watch the whole set - he does a vocal warm up where he sings random notes and the audience sing it back to him. It goes on for about 5 minutes and then he just goes “FUCK YOU”. And starts playing a song.
Thanks guys for this reaction! If you want heavy metal, try „Stone cold crazy”from Queen’s Live at the Rainbow 1974 concert. Metallica got a Grammy that cover😉
you see the 4 guys stage front.. but what you dont see through most of the set, is the 5th member of Queen, Spike Edney. who plays keyboard/ piano/ + additional sounds when Freddie decides to move around a little. you can see him hiding at the back behind Freddie' piano and during "Crazy"
Great reaction, I was in that crowd when I was 16 years old and have been a Queen fan ever since. I am now 55. I also saw them twice the following year in 1986 one back at Wembley and then in August 1986 at Knebworth which turned out to be Freddie's ever last LIVE performance with Queen. I consider myself very lucky to have seen him perform, especially at this concert. We didn't know whether they were going to come on as they weren't on the official line up nor on the tickets and when they were announced it woke all of us up, which after 6 hours in the sun we were all feeling a bit jaded. RIP my beautiful Persian Poppinjay (Freddie's own words) you were and still are a LEGEND. Stay safe from Manchester UK
Here’s some facts. Dave and Taylor of the Foo’s loved Queen. There are interviews with both of them talking about either growing up listening to them or how Dave talking about watching this particular event and being blown away by them. They’ve even done covers ( live.) of Tie your Mother Down and Now I’m Here.
Queen best in the world in the70s 80s , Queen is the whole band they all have written No1 hits and no other band gelled like they did, Queens greatest hits album is still the best selling album today in their country Britain 🇬🇧 , Queen, all the band contributed to the harmonies in their music, Freddie did some solo projects sometimes with other artists like the Spanish opera singer Montserrat Cabaret, and Michael Jackson, I attended many live concerts with Queen, and I attended Freddie’s very last live performance ever at Knebworth park United Kingdom 🇬🇧 in 1986 , the crowd at Knebworth was a estimated 140,000 people,Queen have a huge catalog of amazing music and they have sold over 250 million records worldwide, great reaction thanks 🙏
Definitely watch the full 20 min set by Queen! Considered the best single performance by a rock band under the circumstances it being a live charity event to raise money for the famine in Africa! The “who’s who” in rock were all given 20 min time slots to perform. Her majesty Queen, blew everybody away! 👏👏 🙌 👏👏 🙌
You're so right freddie is the star shining you cannot take your eyes of him he got all the package guys he is performer his moving on the stage the voice out of this world God music love your reaction❤❤
When it comes to live bands Queen are right up there. For instrumental brilliance I recommend Dire Straits " Sultans Of Swing " on the Alchemy Live tour...
I queued for 4 days to get into Wembley, and get near the front. When Freddie jumps down to the front bit he was right in front of me. Those of us who were there knew we were witnessing the best live performance by any band ever!!!
The story goes that Bowie and Freddie passed each other as they made their way off stage, and Bowie said to Freddie "Well f*** you, how do I follow that?" But he did.
This song was a real departure for Queen from their rock roots. They had been quite dismissive of the whole synthesized music of the 80's and then when they relented look what happened ! 👌
Freddie we miss You...... Your Music is from a Genius.....never forgot this Music Beatles not better,he was a 60er Genre...... the Voice from Freddie is the best ever....
‘K. WELL… Freddie Mercury HAS already been voted Best Vocalist AND Best Front Man in Rock Music, FOR A REASON.😉 And… Journalist Paul Gambaccini (Paul was acquainted with Freddie and he was present backstage during Live Aid; he’s been interviewed in a lot of Queen documentaries)… said: “We’re LUCKY that Freddie was such a good person, because (talking about the ability Freddie had, to make THOUSANDS of people do whatever he wanted with just a word or a gesture) …he could’ve been another Hitler!”
You guys should definitely react to Queens full show at Live Aid. Fun fact, there’s another video somewhere online of a frame by frame comparison of live aid and the movie Bohemian Rhapsody….its crazy how accurate they got things - check that one out
Thanks, guys.. this whole concert is considered "iconic"... and once again, this is not Freddie and his back-up band.. everyone was amazing! appreciate your reaction...
Ok. Freddie is one of my heroes. I ADORE that man. I still miss him and, 30 years on, it still hurts that he's gone.... But... If Queen's success really was all because of Freddie then his solo career would have been way, WAY more successful than it was. Until the album with Montserrat Caballé, his solo career was, pretty much, a dud. Queen is the only band where all four members wrote #1 hits for the group. Their biggest hit, especially in the U.S, was Another One Bites the Dust written by John Deacon, the bassist! He also wrote the last one you reacted to, I Want To Break Free, + others. The song in THIS reaction, Radio Ga Ga, along with others, was written by Roger Taylor, the drummer! We Will Rock You was written by Brian May, the guitarist! As was Fat Bottom Girls, Who Wants to Live Forever, The Show Must Go On, & many more. Queen was more than just Freddie, or the sum of its parts. They were a unit. A team. The reason they were so successful was because of everything each one brought to the table. Not dissing the Freddie adoration, the man is definitely the G.O.A.T. An absolute legend! But PLEASE don't dismiss the major contributions of the other three members. Freddie certainly didn't. For the love of sanity, i beg you to watch, whether as a reaction or on your own time, the BBC documentary: Queen - Days of Our Lives. It will really open your eyes. Trust me.👍
To be fair Freddie didnt promote his album or perform the songs He was approached to do solo albums Brians solo did the same as Freddies and he debuted the single at Freddies tribute One single was a tv advert and he toured the album
I think a huge part of the success of the albums which leads to the concerts is the diversity But Freddie brings a lot of charisma and connection to the audience the others couldnt They also couldn't perform the range of songs The four of them worked well together I think part of the reason the solo albums didnt do as well is the tone is similar through out rather than all the contrast you get in a Queen album Freddies living on my own video was banned After his death the video was trimmed and obscured and it went to no 1
I don’t consider Brian and Roger to be Queen to be honest. I think when you have a very prominent front man it’s hard to look at it the same way when he’s no longer there. Deacy is certainly a man of dignity
They made an album with Paul Rogers and it bommed Thats all they've tried to record in the 33yrs since Freddie Why couldn't they keep making regular albums with a different singer They still perform
Freddie would tell you he could not reproduce the Queen sound without Brian,Roger and John. They all wrote #1 hits for Queen. If you havent listened to Dragon Attach that will show how great of musicians the were.
G'day Guys! The greatest front man of all times was Mick Jagger! He and the Stones started performing in 1963 and I beklieve their last show was in 2022! BTW what about Jefferson airplane/starship???? Cheers!
I think there is something about the stars that die before time (Cobain Lennon, Elvis, Freddie, J.Dean, M.Monroe, ao..) that makes them seem a little mere Iconic than they may would have been, if they had continued.. Same with the band-name if they stop because of their leadsingers death..?
Hey boys, really miss your cricket talk. Maybe a surprise cricket Tuesday ???😂 Btw I've just booked a huge trip to the Carribean and Florida for the t20 World Cup- spent a fortune but should really be worth it. I will be there for the USA- Ireland game haha.
…The only thing that makes me “sad” about this video of the “Radio GaGa” performance, is that it CUTS OFF just before the best part (there’s a longer version of the video that doesn’t cut off)… Just before Freddie’s most famous “Ay-Oh” call-and-repeat with the audience! (Freddie’s long note has been called “The Note Heard Round The World”.) And, BTW… Since this was simulcast live to the OTHER live audience watching on-screen in Philadelphia (124,000 folks, I think): I’ve read from folks who were watching Queen in the Philly audience, that EVERYONE in the American audience was ALSO following along with all of Freddie’s prompts!
Freddie was iconic. After his death they went on to record an album with Paul Rodger’s. It was a bit shit to be honest. Then they got Adam Lambert to sing with him and to me it was the perfect fit.

Queen is a band that can not classified. This is written by Roger Taylor, and the hand clapping was in the official video filmed with Queen invited fans. I feel you're giving Fred too much credit, in his own words he's not the leader of the group he's the lead singer without the other three writing together or individually he would have far fewer songs to sing, and if you think Fred is Queen then his first solo album would've done a lot better than it did, Roger was actually the first one too have a solo album running alongside Queen. It was Fred who joined Roger and Dr Sir Brian at university, and eventually they found John, who by the way wrote one of Queens biggest hits Another One Bites The Dust, Fred would be the first to say he's very much part of a group of four who all write, play many different instruments, John built the Amps as he has a degree in electronics, I feel you should watch a couple of documentaries, The Untold Story about Fred with people who knew him best namely his mother and sister, and Days Of Our Lives and you'll see its very much a collaboration with four highly successful and intelligent men
Guys, great review! I enjoyed your chat about his replacement, who is good but obviously not Freedie! However, I would like to add that there was one guy who could've stepped into his shoes, and that man was George Michael, but he had his own career. I have attached his performance Queen & George Michael - Somebody To Love (Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert). He was amazing, which is no surprise as his voice was one of the purest ever examined by the music industry. ruclips.net/video/oYAR8RigqDA/видео.html
GABE WHY WHY CANT YOU JUST STAY QUIET AND LET THE SONG PLAY sick of your voice was anyone else singing along till gabe opened his mouth GAG THE GABE GAG THE GAB GAG THE GABE GAG HIM NOW GAG HIM NOW LOL
Freddie’s solo work didn’t do well Queen is all four of them a quote from Freddie ‘I need Roger & Brian’s voices to make the Queen sound without them it’s not Queen’ ❤ all four are inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame & Songwriters Hall of Fame they were four equal band members x Freddie said in numerous interviews he is the lead singer not leader of the band x Days of Our Lives is a good Queen documentary x
I get it. Could queen work with out Freddie??? NO. 100% NO. It would have still been a band. But it Wouldn’t be what we know today 100 % Freddie made queen, queen. Brian and roger could create the band. But Freddie made it what it is.
you need to watch the full 20 min he did on this live aid concert, best live 20 mins in music history and thats not me over reacting
You’re not overreacting. I don’t know anyone else; band or individual that could control that many people at once just by being
Radio Gaga was not written by Freddie. RogerTaylor, Queen’s drummer, wrote Radio Gaga. 😊
Can’t believe you ended thus at Radio Gaga. The call and response he does seconds after this video ended will put your hairs on end. He’s incredible.
Man you've gotta watch the whole set....its absolutely awesome from start to finish!😊
Agreed, you won't see a better live performance.
@@dazza9326Especially given that his voice wasn't 100% at the time.
PLEASE PLEASE 🙏 WATCH THE FULL SET. TOTALLY AWESOME 20 MINUTES- NEVER TO BE REPEATED. QUEEN ARE THE ABSOLUTE BEST!
Gabe: This song was written by Roger Taylor, the non-essential drummer 😉
👍😁
And non - essential falsetto in Bohemian Rhapsody. 🤨🙄
It's where Lady Gaga got her stage name from.
The greatest showman with the performance of his life. It'll never be topped.
You have to watch the call & response that immediately followed this. Had the crowd in the palm of his hands. Queen is given credit for introducing speed metal with Stone Cold Crazy. Then covered by Metallica.

The F You one was during another Queen concert at Wembley. Still amazing. During Live Aid he ends it with “Alright!”
Thanks guys for this reaction! If you want heavy metal, try „Stone cold crazy”from Queen’s Live at the Rainbow 1974 concert. Metallica got a Grammy that cover😉
As the crowd claps to the beat in the chorus, it creates a visible wave that moves away from the stage at the speed of sound.
Legend. What more can you say.
Freddie Mercury. The best frontman, / singer/ performer in the entire world.

Queen was the best band EVER. Their versatility was unmatched, and Freddie was a magical being.
Paul Rogers sang with Queen after Freddie died. In his own right a master of song check out, Free & Bad Company
You should react to their entire Live aid performance. This is just part of it
So nice to see a concert without thousands of mobile phones being held aloft to film it rather than just enjoying being there
Brian May is a fantastic guitarist and one of the most under rated in music
Got to watch the full Queen set. Possibly the greatest performance of all time
The great Freddie.....brilliant entertainer, musician and singer.....never to be imitated ❤
Queen live in Montreal, somebody to love . Try a listen to that !!!

Feel like if you love metal, stone cold crazy from Queen has to be the next song you react to. Live or official video. Both bangers👀
I always get goosebumps watching this. The whole set was fantastic. 😊😊😊

it may be just a rumour but this is where Lady GaGa got her name
Absolutely brilliant! 🎤🎵🎤😀🎶
To think the next act on stage was David Bowie!
The story goes that Bowie and Freddie passed each other as they made their way off stage, and Bowie said to Freddie "Well f*** you, how do I follow that?" But he did.
Just simply JOY
Try Queen Live in Montreal-somebody to love 😮
This song was a real departure for Queen from their rock roots. They had been quite dismissive of the whole synthesized music of the 80's and then when they relented look what happened ! 👌
Something from early Queen, please,Liar live at Rainbow 74 is brilliant
He was the greatest

I don’t consider Brian and Roger to be Queen to be honest. I think when you have a very prominent front man it’s hard to look at it the same way when he’s no longer there.

Bollocks is it

I could give you a weather forcast for that Saturday on june 85.
Freddie would tell you he could not reproduce the Queen sound without Brian,Roger and John. They all wrote #1 hits for Queen. If you havent listened to Dragon Attach that will show how great of musicians the were.
Obligatory fact: Lady Gaga got her name from this song.
Lady Gaga took her name from this song.Try Barcelona that he sang with Monserat Caballe a opera singer. His best vocal performance ever.
Have you never heard of the Scottish Band, 'The Red Hot Chilli Pipers'? Great Band. You should look them up.
G'day Guys! The greatest front man of all times was Mick Jagger! He and the Stones started performing in 1963 and I beklieve their last show was in 2022! BTW what about Jefferson airplane/starship???? Cheers!
you should have done the whole 5 song set, absolutely epic
This song is where Lady GaGa got her name
I think there is something about the stars that die before time (Cobain Lennon, Elvis, Freddie, J.Dean, M.Monroe, ao..) that makes them seem a little mere Iconic than they may would have been, if they had continued.. Same with the band-name if they stop because of their leadsingers death..?
That sound you mentioned is Brian on his guitar.
Hey boys, really miss your cricket talk. Maybe a surprise cricket Tuesday ???😂
Btw I've just booked a huge trip to the Carribean and Florida for the t20 World Cup- spent a fortune but should really be worth it. I will be there for the USA- Ireland game haha.
Great Choice and Doctor's orders said "Do NOT go on!"..
You should check out Barcelona by Freddie Mercury and Montserratt Caballe if you haven't done so before, it's incredible
Was always well known that they had a hidden keyboard player.
You guys don’t know what you missed
…The only thing that makes me “sad” about this video of the “Radio GaGa” performance, is that it CUTS OFF just before the best part (there’s a longer version of the video that doesn’t cut off)…
Just before Freddie’s most famous “Ay-Oh” call-and-repeat with the audience! (Freddie’s long note has been called “The Note Heard Round The World”.)
And, BTW…
Since this was simulcast live to the OTHER live audience watching on-screen in Philadelphia (124,000 folks, I think): I’ve read from folks who were watching Queen in the Philly audience, that EVERYONE in the American audience was ALSO following along with all of Freddie’s prompts!
Freddie was iconic. After his death they went on to record an album with Paul Rodger’s. It was a bit shit to be honest. Then they got Adam Lambert to sing with him and to me it was the perfect fit.
GUYS,
IF YOU REACT TO QUEEN’S FULL 20-MINUTE LIVE AID SET…
PLEASE NOTE:
You should pick a copy of the 20-minute video that…
Starts with two “cops” introducing the band
OR…
Has a “Mundo do Rock” logo on-the-screen in-the-corner.
(This is just to AVOID a “one-off” video posted on YT (there’s only one posted) which is INCOMPLETE/it’s MISSING part of the ending.)🖖
The background sound were not so much a pianist but more the synthetizes of the 80s
Nightwish are on their 3rd lead singer and in my opinion she's the best one, all great singers need a great band behind them.
floor she is a goddess
Stefani Joanne Angelina got her stage name from this song.
Bob Dylan, Black Francis, Lou Reed and Ray & Dave Davies to name a few.
That's only my opinion.
Queen is a band that can not classified. They created soft rock, hard rock, glam rock, progressive rock, thrash metal, R&B, ballads, folk, jazz, blues, disco, dance music, show tunes, opera, funk, and often mixed more than one genre in a song,
If you like metal, you should react to Queen's "Stone Cold Crazy". It was considered to be Thrash Metal before there was Thrash Metal. And yes, Metallica di sample "Stone Cold Crazy".

Watch Barcelona if you like Freddie world class.
They were more metal in the early 70’s. Watch the im at the Rainbow in. 1977?
Elton John,David Bowie Mick Jagger,
😄I love to listen to you argue that Freddie Mercury is the BEST FRONT MAN EVER (and the BEST SINGER, BEST SONG WRITER, BEST PIANO PLAYER) because… it’s TRUE!🖖
No other musicians. Just the 4 of them.
Wrong. Spike Edney was there on keys too.
Gravitas is not a word I'd associate with Freddie Mercury (it means "dignity, seriousness, or solemnity of manner"). I'm guessing you mean something to with gravity, as in the force of? 😊
Excellent performance but painful memories overall of 'Live Aid' - Famine in Ethiopia.
TV Coverage of Folks dying of hunger. Hard thinking of it today to be frank.

Remember this concert well! Couldnt match Feddie!!! Have you watched Bohemian Rhapsody in Green Park Wonderful!!!!

Wait wait wait, I get it.....a gay Louis (not gay) and Costtello (maybe gay)schtick? Right? Great song and reaction boys.
Since Metallica is your favorite band you should listen to Queens’s Stone Cold Crazy and then compare it to Metallica’s cover of it.
One song from live aid 😂
Queen are known for the quality of their live performances.
