“How music changes through the years”….. how prophetic was Freddie.
You need to do the whole Live Aid concert it was voted best live concert ever.
The way he commands an audience was unbelievable
A reporter asked Freddie one time what instrument he played, and he smiled and answered "I play the audience." The "Ay-oh" section after this song really shows you why. The Note Heard Round the World!
Showing my age, again. I watched this LIVE!
Thanks for your reaction..Queen at the top of the world out classed everyone else 💫
😊🙏
I love QUEEN, I have been listening to them since they began and now at 70 years old, I still have never grown tired of them. Excellent reaction, Freddie was a one-off, a legend. Captivating performer even back to Killer Queen and 7 Seas of Rhye. What a band. Every member is an excellent musician in their own right and together, they never cease to amaze me.
I totally agree with you! Thanks for your comment 😊🙏
Probably one of the most iconic Queen performances of all time.
And of course Freddie Mercury was just his typical charismatic self.👏😊🤝
Yees! 🙏😊
I watched the Live Aid performance probably 20 times it's just really awesome you don't get sick of it
Absolutely!!
No in ear monitors, no autotune, no click track - just pure unadulterated talent :) Also not a single annoying mobile phone out there in the audience and just look at the audience interaction as a consequence!
I watched this on television and I would beg to differ with many people who react to this performance, who talk about Freddie's "control" or "command" over the audience. It felt at that time that it was more like a symbiosis, a mutual feedback that was creating a shared experience. I'm sure Freddie knew this, understanding that his was the conduit through which we all were brought together. It was of a certain place and time but it made us feel immortal.
U can't even tell he did this with a throat infection he went against Dr's orders to be there he said his throat felt like he was gargling with crushed glass while singing and he still crushed it they are epic
THE greatest frontman ever. Here's why: name one other frontman who tops Freddie in just any one of the following: audience command/presence, vocal performance/ability, songwriting, tempo, or just sheer drive and ambition (have a read on his origins and what he achieved)...
No no no Theee Greatest in history
Not one of the greatest. ❤
Do the whole queen live aid man.

In case you don’t know what Radio GaGa is about, it was to do with the influence music videos and MTV had on radio at the time. Live Aid had all the biggest bands of the day performing, each had a 20 minute set. So that crowd weren’t a typical crowd of Queen fans, they didn’t even know Queen would be performing when they bought their tickets. You saw how they reacted, such was Freddie’s charisma. They would do whatever Freddie wanted them to do. You should do the whole set. There’s a good reason why it’s considered the best live performance ever by a rock band.
It must be so amazing to have all of those people singing with you. this concert goes in the history books I will never forget watching it!!!!!!❤❤❤❤
Yes you really should do the whole concert. They are not one of the greatest, they are the greatest in history.
Yes!!
When Freddy came on the stage the whole wide world watched, was incredible!!! God save the Queen!
I got some bad news for you...
I’ve been a fan since1974 when I saw them on Top of the Pops singing Seven Seas of Rhye, and I’ve never stopped loving them. 🖤
Awesome!
You need to do the whole Live Aide concert. Also "Somebody To Love" live in Montreal, 1981.
"I'M NOT GOING TO BE A ROCK STAR"
"I'M GOING TO BE A LEGEND" - FREDDIE MERCURY
He never dies because he lives in his songs and our hearts.
LOVE YOU FREDDIE MERCURY ❤️
Queen is Legendary and always will be..Amazing chemistry, totally focused, very harmonized, and a lot of energy. Freddie, Brian, Roger and John, best musicians by far. Don't forget Roger's backing vocals while playing the drums. Concerts are not like that today. No lip syncing whatsoever. Pure talent. ❤️🔥
No forest of phones and dick heads taking selfies, just thousands of ppl totally amazing.
That was THE best preformances I’ve ever seen!
Freddie was told not to sing he had larengitish but he wouldn't disappoint his fans
Fun fact Lady GaGa pick her stage name from this song. She loves Queen.
Didn't know that!
The joy on your face john as you watched the proformace 😂 priceless. Freddie got it 100 PC bang on. He couldn't of preformed it better. He set the bar as to how to command the audience.
Love you Freddie ❤️❤️❤️
He cud move a crowd like NO other. He rocked that day. Best performance out there ... no one came close.
Man if you get the chance react to the performance of “somebody to love” Montreal 81. PhD in performance. Stage presence, rhythm, incredible vocals and the band in total harmony, finished with some of the best jamming and ad libbing you will see. MUST WATCH 🔥🔥🔥
Freddie will always be a legend the most talented front man ever an queen the best band ever
Who every front man aspires to be. 35 years ago sitting in front of my TV and doing the hand clap with the crowd. Imagine that happening around the world. THAT'S CROWD CONTROL on an unbelievable level. Saw them as an opening act and Freddie was outrageous then and they only got better from there.
Great comment!
Queens set at live aid is referred to as the best live set ever performed
I was at the live aid concert, amazing. Check out Queen live in Montreal, you won't be disappointed
Renowned as one of the greatest performers of the 20th century Freddie
Mercury pushed the boundaries of art and music as he lead his band Queen
to international stardom. His limitless vocal power and extravagant
performances shocked and wowed audiences around the world
You chose the best performance of the song.
You should react ro the whole 20' time.
Queen that day stole the show with Freddie having nodules and performed against doctors advice.
He was perfect, as you can see I am his fan, over 20 years now.
The man is a myth
Tnank you very much
i think we are the champions was better?
John, you described it perfectly. Freddie Mercury was indeed one in trillion. Probably one of the best ever performers and Radio Gaga of course a great but simple song.
Freddie's stage presence and charisma are hard to beat. Sorely missed even nearly 30 years after his death.
One of the most truely iconic stage performances of all time.
Yes! One of the greatest.
Watch this over and over and never get bored of it. I remember Live Aid and Queen were the absolute best. Bright the whole event to life
Apresentação incrível do Freddie, inesquecível
Ironically .... his finest hour.
The god of music
Queen and Freddie transended greatness, they transended genius, they were the greatest live act ever! What a bloody shame, if only?
If you truly want to see how powerful of a frontman Mercury is still . Check out the London Olympics closing Freddie Mercury. You will see the ay-oh video from the Montreal live and you will watch the crowd reacting and following as if he were alive.
Name me just one singer dead or alive that has managed this..
I will check it out! Thank you 😊🙏
Charisma you could surf off. Natural & instant audience rapport . Effortlessly working the crowd: & a stunning 5 octave range voice. I watched it on TV at age 15 back then & it still gives me goosebumps. 65,000 crowd there & 700,000 also watching live via video link from Philadelphia: + millions watching on TV.
Wow! Awesome 😊
A great song by queen Freddie was an outstanding showman who loved to entertain his amazing songs to the audience and would involve them to sing with him he had a beautiful charisma about him when singing . Thank you John enjoyed this have a wonderful weekend.✌️👍
He wasn't just a showman, he was a musician first, then a performer and his stage presence is unmatchable.
He had it all.
Freddie Mercury, a legend!
Legend
👍 love Queen 👑 ❤️
Freddie king of rock
This wasnt even their audience. It was a mixed bag of fans of current rock in general. But they knew the words and the motions.
What a lovely reaction. You really do like Queen. I had the pleasure of seeing them 6 times. Freddie, Brian, Roger & John were just ...Out of this World. May I suggest you delve into their early catalogue (first 3 albums especially). 'Father to Son' off Queen II album is my favourite (for sentimental reasons obviously).
That's amazing! Thank you very much! I will check the song out 👍😊
@@johngibsonmusic Album lyric version is best. Production and guitar work is astounding. Thanks.
Perfect
WE MERE MORTALS WILL NEVER KNOW THE FEELING OF POWER OVER PEOPLE LIKE THAT..........Like Elvis but in a hard rock way the voice the stage presence the showmanship Freddie had it all ....and like so many his Life style killed him... but for one brief moment in time these shooting stars gave the world MAGIC
24 minutes that changed the history of rock music
Absolutely!!
Agree ❤️
Very nice Song , Queen was Great
How music changes through the years but don't leave all good friends.. Great 👍 👌
Queen's set at Live Aid went down as "20 minutes that changed music forever". 4 guys, just four ultimately talented guys put on the best show ever! (That's saying a lot from a huge Elvis fan)! Freddie's vocal cord doctor told him NOT to perform that day. So that's Freddie on a bad vocal day! Impressive indeed! Nobody wanted to go on after them, can you blame them? History of the Greatest Front Man of All Time! I'm sure you have watched the entire set but if not please do yourself a favor and watch it! There is a bad copy of this show out there that begins with the "Bobbie's: (I think that's what they are called in the UK.) Don't watch that one, it cuts a lot out. The one you want is when Brian and Freddie come skipping out on stage! Thanks so much man! I'm making my way through your Elvis reactions. I am headed to Memphis in July (2024) this time with no kids to chase around. I'm 60 now and it's on my bucket list to go see Graceland again, childless, and also go down to Beale Street one evening! I'm so excited, I can't wait! Keep up the good work my friend! Love from the USA
more QUeen :) try Save me Montreal live :)
🎤🎸80's unfortunately saw the Radio/Wireless lol phase out -for a while anyway with VCR's in place -Music Channels -"Radio Gaga" XXX
@John Gibs... Que Saudades! Muito bom! Parabéns pelo lindo vídeo... Perfeito... Ameeei!!! Obrigada! Bjs!❤💯❤👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
there's enough to get crazy i think my friend.. anyway, by the beginning of your videos, i think you do a really wonderfull music.. the music i like i mean...i hope to meet u in Sardinie ;)
Thank you very much!! 😊
Good video, reacts to queen who wants to live forever live on Wembley.
Thank you very much 😊 I'll check it out!
Can tell you’re a musician yourself the way you critique Freddie and Queen. You appreciate his talent since you know what goes into their performances. Did anyone ever mention how much you look like Ricky Nelson? He was an American rock and roll musician from the late 1950’s to early 60’s until he and his band died in a plane crash.
Hope you’ll do more Queen, especially his live shows.
Thank you so much. I really appreciate it 😊 Yes! A lot of people already told that I look like him haha 😄
Live Aid Live Aid Live Aid, the whole thing please. Much Love and bless❤
I'll do it asap 😊
And thusly....Lady Ga Ga
The best queen song is crazy lil thing called love my opinion.do a reaction to straycats rock this town great guitar player great band both versions of live or studio is great I highly recommend
It is so NICE to watch a reaction video and not have all the pausing and Gaga. Thanks 👍
Thank you!
I don’t think you need anything to do it I think you just have the right idea 💡
Freddy is one of the few who sound the same live as recorded. In my opinion, it's Freddy, Bowie and Sting.
fantastic. Have you played Billy Joel yet?
If you need a laugh, watch Rami Malek try really hard to imitate Freddie. His stubby legs are the funniest.
Freddie Mercury was the best front man of any ever.
Like a Nuremberg rally put to music.
Q U E E N
You should react to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Rag Doll, Big girls don’t cry, and walk like a man.
Mg I shivering inside! He so powerful its insane How he and them do it. You are a good reacter, I shall tell you Its the lead-guitarist Brian May, and the drummer Roger Taylor who are the back-singers. The bass-pleier John Deacon, said of himself he was not a good singer, if you see him singing the mic is of or he lip sync. You said wrong on Hammer to fall. I peacky have been QueenFan since 1977, so I can who is who. I recomend to you react to Who whants to live forever, at Wembley -86......Woaw all is there, power, loooots of power! And emotion! I dont meant to kritisays you in a bad way. Dont think that st all.......you can kritisays me for my bad english 😉
Thanks for the information Melina 👍😊
So come on... where's your Disturbed's version of Sound of Silence?
I think spoilt little rich kids should be heard and not seen
After watching Queen at Live Aid ( voted the greatest live performance ever ) does it still make you feel like your a musician or does it make you feel like a pretender !
?
What a bloody waste! If only!
wtf?... you just sit on your ass, watch the video and at the end says "great singer". really, it's just a reaction, what I mean...
Watch the live aid portion of theirs it is 20 minutes well worth it
