@@Charlie-vp5tn I think the Blades were created back when there were no essential NPCs in previous TES games so their existence was necessary up to and including events in Morrowind. But starting in 3E433 when Oblivion crisis erupted and supposedly caused essential NPCs to emerge - from this point on, the role of the Blades became much less important and more decorative and symbolic.

That's happened to me way too many times. I do the Hackdirt quest and save the Argonian girl from the evil undergound cultists, and when I'm taking her back to town a wolf shows up and kills her because she just refuses to stay close to me.

the seller for the Skingrad house is nonessential and I _repeatedly_ found the marker pointing to him lead off a bridge, like clockwork. I think there’s also the one countess who travels back and forth from, ehhh, Leiawyn mebbe? she has an entourage but they can get ganked by wildlife or daedra if you advance the main quest too far, that botches the Sanguine quest I think (tho it’s been a while).

The Champion of Cyrodiil really should have encouraged Martin to find a wife so the Septim dynasty would still hold strong and would have quashed the Thalmor before they could take power.
there's a lot about the septim dynasty that's puzzling to me when you really look at it lol. Only one of them had oopsie babies? And the one that isn't Martin got made a priest or whatever and assassinated as well as the three legitimate heirs (minus the firstborn daughter, who fell out of the canon entirely when the writers forgot she existed). And only one legitimate heir ever married for... reasons? The amulet got passed to (iirc) a cousin of the emperor once--why didn't that happen again this time? How did the septim family tree completely shrivel up such that there was only one blood heir? Wouldn't some of the lesser noble family members want to produce a bunch of kids on the off chance none of the legit heirs were able to take the throne?? It's full moon logic.
I failed to record it but my favorite oblivion moment is when i left the guards barracks, all the guards spawned outside, started attacking something. There were so many guards swingyso fast i couldn't tell who it was. When they killed it, they left them... It was another guard.
This was on xbox, i tried capturing it with the replay feature on xbox one but no luck
It's a possibility that they were originally attacking an actual hostile, but then it simply despawned or exited the cell for whatever reason. I remember seemingly countless times playing Oblivion, when I would be screwing around prior to closing my game (often killing a guard or town npc, or as many as possible), and a guard would entirely accidentally hit another guard and all of sudden it was instantly Guard Vs Guard, sometimes that even turned into several different large groups of guards fighting one another. A veritable bloodbath begun by coincidental tragic mistake.
