I think in GOT, they're all considered supporting characters. There is no main character. They all "support" each other.

There was only one main character in the show, and he died in the first season - Eddard Stark (Sean Bean). The show has only been comprised of supporting characters of varying levels of importance ever since.
By levels of importance, you have Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen on the first tier, Tyrion Lannister on the second tier, Cersei and Jaime Lannister on the third tier, Robb, Sansa, Arya and Bran Stark on the fourth tier, Theon Greyjoy and Stannis Baratheon on the fifth tier, and the list goes on.

The entire show was perfectly cast.
From Charles Dance as Tywin, Jonathan Pryce as the High Sparrow to Jack Gleeson as Joffrey. Every one of them just nailed their roles
weeeeell, except for Emilia - but that may be down to the shitty part she was playing (Emilia is usually great). Dany was the most unbelievable thing about that show - even taking into account that there were dragons and knight kings in it!

Because basicly there is only supporting characters in game of thrones. Yes some gets more screen time than others but it doesn't change that they are all just bigger or smaller pawns in the game of thrones. The concept of the Iron Throne is the main character so to speak.

The acting he did in the scene where Shae betrayed him is some of the finest I've seen. He played the part of disbelief and heartbreaking pain as she betrayed him to perfection. The man is brilliant!
The single scene that truly made me recognize him and his acting skills the most was the court trial scene in season 4, I get goosebumps every single time. The raw expression of emotion he displays is unreal

Yeah, he did. His reaction is almost like, "What?! No ..." The eyebrow raise seems almost skeptical, like he doesn't think it's right. He makes sure to hug Nik after he kisses his wife, as though he's apologizing. He was, I'm sure, legitimately rooting for Nik to win, and even shakes his head (and rolls his eyes), probably feeling that his co-star was robbed. He actually mouths the word "whatever" ... but I'm happy that he included Nikolaj in his speech. Both actors are great.

D & D was actually good until the last season.
Its funny how one bad season, in fact one episode for that matter can ruin a whole legacy. D&D made the show a phenomenon. Of course the ending wasn't great, but doesnt mean they are crap. Whatever ending you give, people arent going to be happy.
Last 3 seasons were weak but 6 and 7 were still fun. 8 was a nightmare

Hm Aiden is an interesting one. Littlefinger is my favourite character on the show (in my opinion the most interesting character) but I feel Aiden has been a little too one note and inconsistant at times. I love the actor and I sitll think it's a fantastic performance, just don't know if I would put it on the same pedestal as the one's I mentioned.

@@George-qw8ss I wouldn't get my hopes high. This season didn't get a lot of positive reviews from critics and fans alike. So the chances of it getting an Emmy for Best Drama or Directing/lighting categories are fairly low. There is maybe a 1 in 3 chance that there might be a nomination for an acting category, but I can't say for sure, because the scripting was not that good for this season. The acting was on point, but not the Script. We can all thank D&D for that.

It wasn't always fanfiction, but Season 7 certainly was. I would've been quite content if GoT didn't get nominated for anything besides visual effects, but I knew that wouldn't happen. I do think that other actors in the show deserve awards (Nikolaj for instance), but not for this shitty season.
