    I've wondered how they plan the classes as they seem to do the most kooky things and its all a blur by the end:) Love it!

    I've been teaching and studying training and nutrition and all that involved for the last 7 years. I've never met a teacher like how I teach my training classes. Exactly. The same. Never had a guide or mentor and I'm seeing you have the EXACT same methods and thoughts. I love you already lol. I'm excited to follow you. We're very close to the same age as well!

    I love this! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I am about to start comprehensive training. I currently teach mat and some reformer. You confirmed what I’m currently doing with layers/progressions. Comforting to know that there’s no right or wrong way to plan a class. Thank you! 🙏🏾

    What would you teach on the reformer to audition for the studio owners? Like should it be challenging or do they just want to see that I can articulate the flow of the class? It’s nerve racking bc they’re so experienced😂

    • @MargaretElizabethLLC
      @MargaretElizabethLLC  2 года назад +3

      I wouldn't do anything overly complicated - try something creative that is easy to follow and shows your teaching ability. Something you know you are able to give options with, because that'll show your ability to teach to different levels!

    I also loved the layering even though I have no intention of going through teacher training at 65 years of age. I am interested in doing the mat ball workout for tomorrow which one is this please?

      It’s a class I taught on zoom not on RUclips!! So I have it on my Pilates membership!

    Thank you for this! Very helpful. Question, should you keep exercises continuous between layering? For example, should bridge basic level move straight into marching, then straight into bridge with push out no coming down to pause in-between each level. Xx

    • @MargaretElizabethLLC
      @MargaretElizabethLLC  9 месяцев назад +1

      That's typically how I do it! So it maintains the flow of your class & people can choose what works best for them as they keep moving!

    Which mat class was this? Im a new instructor and get a little bit anxious at times with planning mat classes because I hope they like my classes. Your videos put me a bit at ease. Just wondering do you play music in your instudio classes? And if so, what kind? Thank you.

    • @MargaretElizabethLLC
      @MargaretElizabethLLC  2 года назад +1

      This was a mat class that I taught live on my membership platform! When I was teaching at a reformer studio, yes I played music and the studio gave us a lot of freedom with what we played- usually I stuck to pop songs because they are upbeat and generally people know them! In the mat classes I teach on zoom I include a playlist for people, and sometimes it is a themed playlist like all Britney Spears or all music from the 90's.

    Sorry I have another question.. I've found the mixed classes I'm teaching are bothered less about form ,more about exercise. How much correction do you give and postural talk? Sometimes I think I'm talking toi much! Xxxthanks again

    • @MargaretElizabethLLC
      @MargaretElizabethLLC  9 месяцев назад

      You won't be able to get everyone into "perfect posture" no matter how much you say or correct people in a group class, accept there are things you can control - focus less on getting people into the perfect position and just helping them move safely. You can do a lot more postural correction and in depth form talk in private sessions with people and they are much more receptive. With enough practice teaching a group you'll know who wants to be corrected and how your class will actually apply what you are saying.

    Hi, what reformer do you have ? whats the name of it please?

  • @Onyx0000
    @Onyx0000 6 месяцев назад

    What is the reason for standing or sitting on the box off the reformer rather than on the reformer?

    • @MargaretElizabethLLC
      @MargaretElizabethLLC  6 месяцев назад +1

      In something like a lunge - with the box on the ground it gives more room for the standing foot & is good especially if you're working on a machine that doesn't have a standing platform - gives you more surface area to use to stabilize the foot. It really depends on what the focus of an exercise is, and sometimes it's just taking something you're familiar with and giving it a little tweak to either keep more parts of the body stable, or focus more on one part of your body pulling the resistance of the carriage instead of everything moving - basically just different feedback for your body
