Wow the stone carvings in the museum were just mind boggling… how on earth they carved the stone so precisely… I would have loved to have seen them doing that in the day. Just truly remarkable. The rain… oh the continuous rain of Antalya… what memories 😁
As I have commented before, Turkey is a bucket list item You could have made a hour long video of that museum and I would have loved it. Great video guys.
Turkey is natural open air museum. Every city has something interesting that blows your mind away. We have such incredible rich history and culture . AND I feel grateful that I am part of this culture! I am amazed how ancient people have build these beautiful structures with limited resources. I don't know if I am the only person, who looks at them and feels sad. Today, we have so much technology yet everything looks cheap and ugly they will will not stand 200 years.
Wow - just wow. You didn't mention - were those sarcophagi marble? If so - those are priceless works of art. How long did you stay at the museum? Was it very large? I would have been interested in the pre-historic things as well. How old did some of the artifacts date? Did you guys like the Hotel? It seemed nice. I had a burger today - that looked just like the ones you had. I bet Baz was an auto-racing background somewhere in there. Anyway - really enjoyed this episode and will watch again to see what I missed first go-round.
Hi Murray, some were marble and some were local stone. The Antalya Museum is counted among the most important archeological museums of the world. It's a fairly large place, we were there for a couple of hours. But you could certainly spend longer. There's stuff on display from the fossil period. Hotel was excellent. I think we may have mentioned it once or twice in the video. Not sure though. 😂
I Luv Mustard. Great Museum Video ! Cargo? Crane operated by hand and a framework on board to keep them from shifting. slip road is that anything like a tramway? 😛

Thanks Shelley. 🤗
Loved the vid as always, my favorite show :-)
Glad you enjoyed it! 👍
And you can just touch and rub these priceless antiquities😕
That's one of the things we love about Turkey.
"We like old thing"says Aannsha as she glances at the fossil walking beside her 🤣🤣😛😛
(Baz) I knew someone was going to pick up on that. I should've put money on it being you Shane. 😂

Giles is a star :-)
It took him 10 takes to get it right. 😂
Well I guess it’s full on winter so full on travelogue status implemented. Roll on spring and we can get back on the water.
We would be silly not to explore the treasures of the country while we can.
I bet the female Calico cat is waiting at the door for you at @2:24. 😻
(Baz) The cats know my weakness. 😂
Antalya looks very nice …… We had a very short stay in 2019 but too short to visit much. You really scare me with your navigation skills 😂😂😂
(Baz) I'm just following instructions from the nice lady who lives inside our sat nav. 😂

"Look at the size of those things? How would they lift them onto the ship?"... With great dexterity .
It would be more than a week's pay if you dropped one. 😂

(Baz) Slip road, tramway... They sound similar. 😂
👍🍺
Cheers mate.
I'm guessing that those big jars were lifted by bloody strong slaves.
Maybe two slaves for the really big ones.
