I started with 09 spyder, then took the course.the course in ct used rykers for our bikes,I had an absolutely had a blast, got my m3,and rode my spyder that summer.I liked the spyder, but missed the fun of a ryker.I now own a 22 rally, didn’t feel like a down grade, just a different ride.
It definitely isn't a downgrade. The Ryker and Spyder are two different machines. You made the choice that was best for you, and your Ryker looks Dope! I'm glad you made this Video to clear it up for some folks.
Can't wait for summer again! I don't think it's a downgrade either, different ride. If I ever get a Spyder, I won't consider it an upgrade, just a different platform with some similarities. Keep the rubber side down!
Ryker is shaft drive the Spyder is belt drive. That in itself is an upgrade. I used to own a Spyder but never felt safe riding on dirt roads so I got rid of it as I was always worried about the belt snapping which is not a problem with shaft drive. Unfortunately I can't afford the Ryker because in Australia they cost an arm and a leg. I've now got an 82 Honda VF 750 Magna with a sidecar. It's shaft drive and with the sidecar I can carry everything I need which is one thing you can't do on the Ryker.
I have a 2022 Ryker Rally and a 2016 Spyder F3S. They’re both extremely fun and offer a difference in ride and performance. The Ryker is definitely not a downgrade.
Be safe out there,we are happy with the 2019 F3 and 2012 RSS just getting out having fun we ride with people with new and older Spyders . We pull a Freedom trailer with the F3.
Hello Ryan, a lot of people are mean and they think the spyder is not good. my son is looking at one Hope he gets it he has to travel an hour just to work. Never let anyone down play what your riding. I love hearing your thoughts and so do a lot of others. 💕NonnaGrace 🐓 i think the down grade would be if Jim went from his bike to a bike that i can ride Like a 250 or smaller.
I don't think your decision was a downgrade. It was a personal choice that you made. I chose my 2021 Sea-to-Sky because, 1. My 62nd birthday present. 2. My retirement present. and........ 3. I'm glad I didn't die when I got blown up at work present. I had the opportunity to get one, so I pulled the trigger.
I don’t disagree with you. The Ryker costs less but I would think that three wheels with a rear driver wheel is the goal. I switched as you noted. I went from a Sea to Sky to an F3 Limited. The seat was the softer seat aka that the S2S had. Sure I downgraded storage capacity but I much more fun out of the F3. Now I have upgraded to a side by side with heated and cooled seats in the Slingshot.
I agree I don’t consider it a downgrade at all, especially since you went from 2013 model to an almost 10 year newer model. I’m sure a lot has changed since then. Plus I remember you talking about how much better the ergonomics are on the Ryker comparable to your previous Spyder. That and the price is defiantly a win. 🙂👍
the older spyders are having a hard time find parts and people that will service them, which is sad because they are still good for what they are. even with mods, I still haven't spent close to F3 base model money with this Ryker lol
I bought a 2022 Ryker Rally used for less than $12,000 out the door. The Ryker had only 41 miles on it, with many extra add-ons installed by the previous owner. Health reasons kept the previous owner from riding it. I bought it for my wife to get her into riding. She has no experience on a two-wheeler, so the Ryker was an ideal choice. As much as I wanted to buy her a loaded up Spyder, I could not justify spending over twice what I paid for the Ryker. I already own a 2020 H.D. Ultra Limited. She said I would have to part with the Ultra if I bought a high-end Spyder. That definitely won't happen. What if she decides that she doesn't like it and wants to learn on motorcycles we already own? I guess I'll have to sell it and buy her (me) a Tri-Glide Utra. Most likely, the Ryker stays in my collection, which is getting quite extensive. It's already paid for, so I'll just hang onto it.
The Ryker is a great first trike for someone. getting a low miles used Rally for less than 12k is a huge deal. Spyder prices are just way to high right now. I bet they start seeing declines in new sales the next couple of years.
I also just bought a 2022 used 900 sport over a month ago with extra accessories and with a 130 miles and I got it for $8900 plus tax, and I also ride a big dog pitbull and I own a gsxr 1000 , all bikes are fun and buy what you want.
The 900 is underpowered, I can't imagine the 600 trying to drag itself along. But then again its all about what you are using it for. Just putt putt around a city I'm sure the 600 is fine.
@@jasonthemason1971 wow.. typical toxic fellow Can Am rider response, haven't had one of those in a while. You do you man. If you're happy with the stock power then good for you. I was not, hence why mine is modded. Hope things get better for you. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Yeah, I can see how a Spyder and a Ryker are 2 different animals... but really, the only person that can determine what is and is not a downgrade is the one who buys it. The rest are just observers.
Hello Ryan , great video as always ,been awhile since i seen your vids , your Ryker is a 22 , what kind of mechanical issues have you had with this BRP ? has all issues been resolved ? ride safe sir
mine is a little weird because the dealer I bought it from built it wrong. So all my initial issues was because of that. After that I had all the VSS faults because of the steering angle sensor. BRP has since put in a newer bushing and so far it's worked. There may be a recall on that SAS bushing at some point. but other than that, everything else has been good.
No I don't thank you down grade . More of a crossover but sent you went newer . Call it a boost up. But you saying we down graded because we went from limited to Rt . But I say nah nah 🤣 because we went newer its upgrade .only thing we didn't get was tourpack , chrome and heated seat and fog/driving lights . We saved about 6k not get headed seat .plus we added the trunk tour pack saved us 4k .
You do you.... I don't really care what anyone rides. I'm just glad to see people out there riding! 💜🤗
YOU RIDE WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY AND THE HELL WITH ALL THE HATERS. ROCK ON AND RIDE SAFE.
yup, I just ride my ride and have fun doing it. thanks for watching.
Yep. Since I got a Ryker and ride it to car - bike night. The Harley dudes and car purists quit talking to me. 😂

Until you ride both, you don't realize how different they ride. Hope your having fun on that rally :)
@@BlackphoenixEntertainmentyou were my 1st subscription because you had a older spyder, and just my luck, you got a ryker! yes i am enjoying the ryker!
In CT? I'm in SC now, but grew up in Nirtheastern CT near New London, CT
That's a valid argument in my opinion.
I think so. Thanks for watching
Lots of fun in those turns!
Good deal Ryan 👌 👍
Thanks

yeah, moving from a big motor bike to something like a 250 would be a downgrade. A spyder is perfect for commuting, I do it all the time.
❤ bravery, lol turkey ran into me head on. Just got spider 2008 to replace my 2019 ryker. Learning shifting again. Loved the video.

I think the S2S to a limited isn't that far of a gap. the limited still has a ton of options.

Downgrade just soulds like its someones opinion. We all know what they say about those. Great talk. I do not much about the Rykers, good info 👊
LOL true.. thanks for checking out the video.
I Hinks the Ryder looks far sportier.
I get a ton more looks on the Ryker

No way is it a downgrade. It’s like saying a crotch rocket is a downgrade from a cruiser. They are totally different machines.
exactly my point, some people just look at 3 wheels and think they are all the same.

absolutely
people toured on sportsters since sportsters were invented, you can tour on anything you want, people need to figure that out
right, like you can slap bags on anything and ride.

when BRP change the RT body style, they changed alot of other things too. it's worth it to upgrade an older RT to newer one.
