    I just put 3,000 miles on a Royal Enfield Himalayan this month (April '22). It taught me that... "I'll never do that again!" LOL I went through the mountains in West Virginia and western North Carolina. From Kansas City to Jeffersonville, IN, to Leesburg, VA, down to the coast in NC, back to Kansas City. The bike just doesn't have enough power to do mountains and enjoy it. Struggled to climb the roads in the mountains and maintain speed. The "endurance" training you mentioned is spot on! Your analogy of marathon training is as well. I used to do a lot of marathoning and tons of training. Like an idiot, I forgot all that when going on this trip and just "took off!" Yep, 63 years of this body on earth was feeling the stupidity! :) Looking for a Ryker for my wife (she's never ridden and doesn't trust getting on the back of a bike with anyone), and this tells me we can get the "correct" bikes and enjoy ourselves. The Ryker 900 ACE for her and an Aprilia 660 Tuareg for me will do the trick. Looking forward to more of your videos, thanks!

      The only thing I would definitely recommend for the Ryker for longish or highway speed trips is an anti-sway bar upgrade. There are otger upgrades that make the ride nicer, but this is nearly a must.

    I just did my first long distance road trip of 2590 miles roundtrip on my 2019 Ryker 900 ACE from Texas to Tampa Florida. It was an adventure I will never forget! One advice I have for any Ryker rider is to prepare your wrist for those long rides, because you definitely will encounter discomfort when touring long distance 600 to 700 miles in one day.

    I did a 600mi round trip on my 300cc Vespa over 3 days. Having a pack on back to use as a backrest made a huge difference. 85mph on 12” wheels is a trip!
    Picking up a 2024 RTL in a couple months. Should be a LOT more comfortable!!

    I have a 2022 ryker sport, I have had it a few months and have travelled over 5,000 miles.
    I also have sling mods saddle bags, the marine seat they sell Bluetooth stereo ,added floor boards hand guards adventure wind shield with out bracket, fits on bolts for canam blutooth stereo.
    Normal ride is 3hrs med ride 5-6 and long 10+. I'm going to add another set of floor boards so I can move legs around abit. Roger from Tilton NH

    I added an oversized windshield to my Sea to Sky, best thing I did for cutting down head buffeting. At 6’3” the standard windshield wasn’t tall enough. Good tips.

      Yes! I had no idea what a difference it would make until I switched the sport windshield for the adventure windshield. Makes for a much more enjoyable ride.

    Did a 570 mi trip in 3 days this year in Pa. I'm 75 y/o and planned fairly well for the trip with 4 others. My only complaint was a sore wrist from the throttle. When I got back, I sent for an after-market cruise control which helped on subsequent trips. That would be my only suggestion to go along with your touring tips. However, the new Rykers come with a cruise control. Good video.

    • @RykerChick
      @RykerChick  2 года назад

      That’s a great point! Yes, cruise control is a nice addition for touring. I’m glad the new Ryker models have that option. Out of curiosity…what cruise control did you add to yours?

    The Ryker is definitely a touring bike. I have close to 8000 miles on my 2020 900 Ace, most from touring. I'm still finding new ways to carry what I need for the trip. I don't have the means to trailer, so if I want to go, I have to ride it.

    Wow that looked like a great excursion with beautiful scenery! And thanks for your insight, the tips are very useful. I just spoke with a friend (from our can am class) who bought a Ryker and was saying he hasn't done any long runs yet. I get my F3-S (finally) in two months and plotting out some long rides. Funny I just suggested we hit the Shenandoah National Park (Skyline Drive/Blue Ridge Drive), but he sounds like he's not sure he can handle it, lol. I'll share this with him as I think it'll help him (and me) prepare!

    How did you guys make out with fuel for the bike because back in the twisty Mountain it is not many filling stations. how often did you guys stop for brakes. I plan on doing the Tail of the Dragon hopefully next year when my health gets better. Thank you for taking us along on the trip🍻🍻

    • @RykerChick

      Great question. We stopped every few hours for a stretch/bathroom/food break and we needed fuel approx. every 150ish miles. Going at a slightly slower average speed makes for fantastic gas mileage. I definitely recommend Tail of the Dragon. Lots of fun!

    First of all, thank you for putting yourself out there and doing these videos! I've learned a tremendous amout from watching you!!
    Second, I'm a member of Motor Maids, Inc. (It's the longest running women-only motorcycle club in North America.) They do many long trips, and I'm working myself toward joining them on these trips. I've installed the BajaRon anti-sway bar and end links to stabilize the ride at higher speeds and uneven roads. I live near an interstate and havent ridden on it for longer than exit to exit (5 min). This roadway has many buckles-where the pavement has pushed-upward at creases--as well as many repair spots. What can I do to further prepare for those rougher ride conditions? What shocks do you recommend and what back tire have you installed? Mine is a 2019 Ryker 900 (plain jane).
    Third, there's a woman using your name and some of your photos on facebook to sell parts... I couldn't figure out how to send u a private message about that, I'm sorry.

    This question is for the Ryker Chick and anyone else that wants to comment. I asked my condo if I can have a motorcycle and they said yes. So I went and took the three wheel motorcycle class and passed then put a $500 deposit on the 2022 Ryker sport and bought $600 in riding protective gear. I just found out something this week they did not tell me before and it is I am not allowed to cover my Ryker. We have no parking at the condo to store cars or motorcycles under a covering.. I should say I live in south Florida. Renting a storage place is out of the question because to me the monthly fee would make ownership to expensive over ten years and not be cost effective. My question to you is how will the can am Ryker stand up to the elements in south Florida without a protective cover

    • @RykerChick
      @RykerChick  2 года назад

      Oh wow…did they have why you can’t cover it? That doesn’t make much sense. I keep mine the garage, so unfortunately I do not know the answer to your question, but can anyone else on here chime in? Or, I would say to check some of the Facebook Ryker forums. Lots of great information there.

    I am waiting for my Ryker to be delivered... it has the SHAD side storage box, and i'm starting to regret it since it will hold a helmet and barely anything else. It's twice the price of the helmet I bought! What is your opinion of riding with a simple backpack on your back, as one would wear riding a bicycle? I know for a thing I am minimalist enough and could live out of a medium size backpack for a while. Would it be *that* uncomfortable?

    • @LambChopPanda
      @LambChopPanda 8 месяцев назад

      Backpacks are fine. I do the same. If u want to go any long distance, or overnight stays, the backpack probably wont hold enough supplies + gear and equipment. Definitely upgrade when u get a chance to the slingmods 3 piece. Saving up for it, myself, now
