Dave, you could have used your fuel card and saved some time. I started driving in 1974 and left in 1995, I still miss that job. Dude, nothing boring about the desert. 68 years living in the Mojave desert and still love it.
Except that she was the one on duty so she needs to use her card, to match the logs.

When I moved from Gallup, NM I stopped at that exact Loves. And boy let me tell you that it was crazy then. The burnt foliage you were talking about is actually a lava field around Grants, NM. I can also say I do not miss driving I-40 as traffic always seems to be backed up in either direction, especially with all the road construction. Enjoy watching your vids. Stay safe out there!

The red rock desert out in New Mexico and Arizona is beautiful!! I even loved going through Glamis on 95 and Tehachapi mountains and death valley!

@@billgibson2418 Company truck so you get what you get. I drove slow trucks for years, made good money doing it. Seen others who were busy blazing up the highway, they blew too much money on speeding tickets.

Just got my CDL and I feel like I’ve been binge watching these videos starting from when you first started a year ago.
Same, my routine has been waking, getting to my delivery, and watching this channel while getting unloaded 😂 and cleaning this mess ol’ Dave left for me 🤣

You guys will learn 100 percent more out on the road,,,,and most of what they told you in school does not apply in reality,,,,you will learn that in a real hurry,,,,school give you just the basics nothing more,,,reality will bite you in your rear end fast,,,,the DOT laws are impractical for reality today
@@christophercriss5888 I figured this to be the case. From personal experience nothing is ever like the book or classes of any sort for any field of work. Best way to learn is hands on and on the field.

Calexico was where I was supposed to go with my trainer! We ended up getting relayed to Phoenix. I absolutely LOVED driving through New Mexico and Arizona. Favorite states to drive in.

When driving in New Mexico the mom and pop truck stops are the best, there's usually plenty of room just a big dirt lot and you park where you like. That's one thing I love when driving from Texas to California, I can drive my clock down and not have to worry about finding a spot

I've been with CFI for a few years and they've always been good to me. I did a couple of years otr and I've been on Michaels dedicated for a few years now.
Home every weekend to visit my grandkids and motorcycles.
I was with CFI for ten years without any accident, than all it took was some concerned “Premier” truck driver decided to snitch on me for urinating on the side of the road. Just like that they route me to Joplin and told me clean out my truck because I’m terminated. But it was a blessing in disguised, because I now own my company and hired three former CFI drivers for my company. Thank you CFI/Conway Truckload Inc/XPO.

Just did the drive form Albuquerque to Phoenix today. Going home from visiting my parents in Albuquerque. It is a pretty drive and hit the exact same traffic snags.
Love it! Making lemonade with a bunch of sour lemons! Gotta do it. It's just a blessing to be able to work every day. And even though the wait for gas was a minor inconvenience, our adversities help make us stronger.
Ok good backing very well done. You have to engage your flashers while backing because trailers... DONT HAVE BACKUP LIGHTS. I like your new trainee BTW she's cute good luck out there if you're ever in east TN at Loves 480 come and get a tire or service.
Pro tip: parking between two trucks reduces your odds of getting hit over parking between empty spaces.
And it stops so cxxt parking next to u with a fridge and having that on all nite unless we’re u park they have a rule that they have to be off by a time
You know I wouldn't have even thought about that because normally you want to have your space and not box yourself in. After reading your comment though it makes sense because they are already parked for the night and probably will be there until the next day and will keep you safe from the very scary Swift driver's that are Best in Crash.
The only issue is half of these cereal box restricted cdl holders can’t rewind their gayomatic plastic Volvos for 💩. I always try finding a spot between two other trucks. Some nights I become the defender of other trucks tho. It’s a give and take world lol

You know I had a brother of mine who drove a semi truck for years I haven't had only one ride in it but I can tell you it made me start singing the song convoy when I got home. As a matter of fact I was singing the song convoy on a bus heading from southcenter to my home in shoreline here in the Seattle area. That was back around 2004 2005. But I can tell you it was an honor to be doing that. Now I have a friend of mine did the same thing only she rides in it just about all the time now with her friend because basically her friend is a truck driver so basically what she does when she rides in the truck between Washington State and California she just likes to listen to the CB radio crackling. That's all she does. That's how she got the CB handled droopy. Because of the cartoon droopy. And that's how she got started listening to the CB radio that way.

My truck has a switch to turn it off, I wish it had a switch to turn off the collision feature. Had the truck slam the brakes on me a few times cause of false reading signs, cones, leafs, etc. thinking they were vehicles.
@@shaneburton7184 i drive at night and the shadows from street signs would freak the system out often few times even slamming brakes back when i was in one of them babysitter trucks lol

There's a switch in the Cascadia to turn them off. Construction zones are always causing me issues with them
