I moved to Houston recently, and i quickly realized speed limits, stop lights/signs are just suggestions. It's a free for all, i see people going 50 mph + in a neighborhood with kids often. 90 mph on the highway is normal apparently🤷🏾♂🤷🏾♂ Absolutely nuts.

Dave you followed GPS to take that exit i-75 just to get back I-285 west which you were, you got keep left 3 lanes to stay on i-285
You have really brightened my day! I don't like the big cities or theme parks or roller coasters. Now if you are talking road trips, camping, fishing, cooking over an open fire, sitting around a campfire, going for hikes, listening to the owls & wildlife at night, then you are talking my kind of heaven! LOL! I love listening to you talk, but talking about the guy in the slow moving car "with a pot roast & big jug of sweet tea," had me in stitches!!! I hope you will keep having safe trips but full of the good kinds of adventure.

glad I moved out of the Atlanta area and moved to western North Carolina. My old area in Lawrenceville - the traffic was abysmal.
Gwinnett is a cluster fuck nightmare now.
Used to be a driver myself out west, but now I work for the State of Georgia. Decided to watch your video for a truckers POV on ATL traffic, and you just happened to catch me in the act. 11:45 that's me helping out that heavy haul in the yellow truck😂

Lane departure happens quite easily.
I've only driven through cities as a tourist and not as a trucker, I rate Atlanta, DC, and Houston (probably in that order) as my least favorite cities to drive through, even on interstate. I've been through Dallas a few times, but back in the 90's, and never had a problem there. Cleveland Sucks too. LOL
Used to have a day route in “Allana” boy I could only do it for a year keeps you on your toes for sure makes you question humanity some days but worth the experience safe travels and hammer down driver

Don't know the Us license school, but in my country, you need a few hours of highway drive before you can take the test.

Also, I think city driving would be easiest for me, oddly enough. Highways intimidate me too much. Guess local'd be the life for me as much as I want to travel.

😂 I live there for 36 years and drove trucks it used to be a time when you could leave without traffic but that’s was the late 80’s . I have since moved away and no traffic and less stress 😂.I appreciate your video stay safe and be blessed.
i had a friend that lives in ATL i would only visit him at night because I cant stand driving through during the day.
As an Atlanta dweller and soon to be CDL holder, we collectively suck at driving. Also our roads are shit lol. Also you're pickup was like 5 mins from me, nice!

Lol I used to ride one of those wooden rollercoasters at six flags back to back near closing. Thing was so janky my knees would be black and blue and my teeth damn near vibrated out of my head but I loved every second of it.

i hate it when i have a in lilburn and i gotta drive from 75 south to 285 greensville and once i hit285 the morning traffic in 8 in the morning is horrible
From the very start of the video to about 13:45 is my commute through Atlanta to get to my office. Luckily I work from home most of the time, so I only do it once or twice a week. And that section you drove on 285 is actually a little better cause it's all been repaved now. They started stripping/grinding up the road shortly after this video was posted.
Just my opinion, but you had it easy getting through that area. It can be so much worse. I try to leave my house very early in the morning so I can avoid the worst of the traffic.
But I think I can honestly say that dealing with ATL traffic has hardened me. Dealing with this level of traffic all the time makes traveling to other places so much more enjoyable.
I live an hour east from Atlanta and I avoid it like the plague lol

I drive through Atlanta daily pulling for Walmart. And man it’s draining honestly it’s really not a good time to go through unless it’s 1am to 5am after that good luck. Especially on the city streets 🤦🏾♂️ 285 is horrible I be so happy to get on 85 headed back towards Montgomery AL 😂

Roller Coaster maybe 200 or 400 feet at most”😂 then he sees “they’re too fast..”🤦🏻♂️ I tell him “Roller Coaster 200 miles maybe.. airplanes 600 MPH” 😂
So way back in 2010. I have been off the road for awhile! Got back into trucking I have a load of humvees going to Albany ! I forgot all trucks must take bypass I took75 right through town. Thank god for military loads!!

Everyone hates Dallas but I've had no issues. City I hat the most is Louisville Kentucky. People up there are ALWAYS in accidents. It's ridiculous.

I am from the bayous in La. so maybe not much different but I am currently living in ATL. since Katrina, never a dull moment living and driving here and actually you were so close to my place of employment like another 100 ft at the next left on Hartman Ind. I've been from Maine-Tennessee and the worst drivers I have seen was in New York/New Jersey.
As a Sheriff's Deputy in metro Atlanta, but also have family living in the Dallas area, I can confirm, we are worse than Dallas.

Granted, i dont have many miles under my belt (relatively speaking). But my experience, when i see bad driving, it usually has one of these four state license-plates; New York, Florida, Texas, & California.
Try Austin Texas. It's way worse than Dallas or Houston. People in San Antonio just can't tell their north from south or east from west

Atlanta traffic sucks. The whole family yells through the windshield. I also yell through the windshield. Not as much as my twin sister who cusses them out.
One thing for sure, I use the exit lane in traffic congested areas and haul ass.
I always liked driving through Atlanta, gives me an excuse to drive like the residents 😭😂
The trucking community could help itself by photographing loading docks where it is allowed and writing notes to other drivers on the right ways in and around places. Where you should do it I do not know, but as the people working the warehouses are not putting up explanatory notes, you durn gutta du it urselves.
Ugh. Atlanta is 20% of the reason I stopped driving a truck. All those lanes and all you get is more dummies with no lane discipline

I live in South Carolina. I was in Atlanta once about 28 years ago. I said if I ever got out I would never return. So far I haven't. Driving in atlanta is the experience that convenced me to NOT become a trucker.

Driving a small car in Atlanta traffic sucks.
Chicago and Atlanta. Two worst places to drive through in that order from my driving experience. God help you if you are running behind and have to get on 285, there will be 6 accidents and 10 areas of construction
Also I just refuse to go into SoCal and New York, them two cities are in a different category altogether.
