those engines are so small and cute!!!!
even the diameter is only 102 cm
They r 🥰
The diameter is just 1m 20mm.
skip to 7:35 for take off
Ty.
Thx.
Thanks.
Man I gotta tell you something. I enjoy watching your videos . Thanks for sharing. Really appreciated.
I was lucky enough to fly on one with Aer Lingus (CRK to LHR) as a kid back in 2001-2003, what an experience. A shame that they’re so rare nowadays.
Wow when sun hides behind the engines! Amazing video! 👌✈️
You were going backwards for a long time before takeoff, dude. Glad they got that straightened out! :-). Love the view from alongside the engines. Another great vid. Keep 'em coming!
A great view you can only get from the front of the bus! Awesome vid!
That's was a very long takeoff run!
+Fergus Allan That was a very economic takeoff-run ! ;-)
So it wasn't full thrust takeoff? Flex?
Northern Aviation maybe just flaps 1 and flex thrust. If they would perform a short takeoff they would set max thrust and flaps 3
These are STOL Aircraft, they can take off on quite short runways, if you have a longer runway then using as much as you can will save money.
Those retro-stylin' engines are so mid-century chic!!! Nice video, Dan!!
“Mid-century”would be something from 1947-1957 or from as early as 1933 to as late as 1965 depending on who is doing the describing. A Bae-146 hardly falls into any category of “mid-century” or for that matter, “retro.” A DC-6/7 or a Connie might pass but not this airplane.
Oh, I do love your videos Dan.. Thank You. Keep them coming..And I love the Avro...
The sky changes colour in Brussels 10:45 Wow, things are so different in other parts of the world. No wonder people travel.
O
first comment! great audio, love hearing those engines hum!
That’s just too awesome! 🤩🤩🤩
traveling to beautiful Sweden ;-)
A very nice video! Keep on the good work and safe travels
Awesome Sound, Awesome Video Bud.
Awesome! Sad that they are replacing them with A319's in 2017 :(
sounds like the jet engine on the 707 during take off.
the noise of the engines at takeoff is almost identical to the buzzsaw generated by the 4 Iranian Boeing 707 JT3D 4-A reactors that I took in February 2011
Great quality as always!
Great video of a great little airliner
Excelent video dantorp 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻✈️🛫
Great looking aircraft. Tried to get booked on one a few years ago but unfortunately a Dash-8 was used in the end. Thanks for the vid, always wondered what they sounded like.
Great sound , great view! :D
Nice Sound, even nicer colors!
+EDDTSpotter I know, right?!
Nice :)
cutest plane i swear
You can say that again.
Nice video, thanks for sharing! Greetings from Brazil!
+Ismael Teixeira My pleasure Ismael!
I miss the Avro rj and I love it sooo much
Wow what a BREATHTAKING video !!
Nice engine view as usual !
Great camera work and thanks for sharing this amazing take off !!
I loved flying in this .
i love your videos man :)
Greetings from Germany. +Dantorp Aviation
Awesome!!!! Good vídeo!!!
Took off in one of these from Munich airport, the lady across the aisle had her rosary out the entire journey. It was a very steep and rough takeoff lol
Love the sound of the Honeywells...
man...still love this video...it looks sooo steam punk!...lol
That was SOME pushback... the tug driver probably thinx he's driving a hot rod LOL :))))
One of my favorite aircraft. Sad to see it go. :(
+Shashank Acharya I spent quite a few flights on Swiss ´s "Jumbolinos" - and one of my favorite aircraft as well....RIP
+kreidefelsen oh, and one thing i remember about them was the landing gear on approach..."bomm - bomm - BOMM" .o0(yep, landing gear is down) ^_^
really? it won't fly soon? well that sucks, why is it always the interesting ones that stop, first the dc-10 and now this one :/
Swiss is replacing their Avros with the new C-Series by Bombardier while Brussels airlines is replacing theirs with A319/A320s.
+Shashank Acharya Aw man! I also love the Boeing 717. That plain had so much potential. I love the sound it makes.
excellent footage
Awesome Vid!
A BAE 146 is typically a baby boeong C-17. Very sweet.
Damn that plane is og. Alsways weird to see high wing 4 engine planes, very cool though.
Nice skyline of Brussels :)
I love brussels airlines i live in belguim
The tak roff was very long
The 146 was a crazy little plane, but I loved flying them on them with Air UK in the 90’s out of Stansted. That bizarre flat retraction noise you’d hear in the cabin or on the ground.
Jumbolino at its best !
certainly my favourite mini jumbo also ! lol
I like hearing jets spool up iniatally
that thing is quick
Very cool!
Those LF507:s...
First flight I ever took was on one of these 'whisper jets'; Newcastle > Stavanger. September 1984.
zo vaak PRG BRU PRG met de AVRO en de Bae 146. Mooie herinneringen
ohh man this cool ... i work on these planes and i can tell you , they're very good birds . but they have one big broplem .. the can't stand heat 🔥🔥
here in the middle east the temp can reach 50c , then these planes start to leak air from everywher 💨💨. but i still love them 😊
Sweet!!
a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong take off run..
Unusual for this type of plane.
This plane reminds me of the Chapecoense team crash. They were in an Avro 100, the company Lamia.
Bulgaria Air had the Avro RJ back in the day too but they gave them away for the A320 Family (i think)
These are so overkill, I see them every day at Landvetter!
Is that high pitch engine noise normal? If you can hear that engine noise in the cabin they must have forgotten to put insulation in. How can anybody stand that high pitch noise for any length of time?
They reduce engine power after a while slow it just becomes a dull him.
The engines are so cute. Can you still fly in a BAE 146 300
I love your channel make sure you watch Mijit had he does unboxing and reviewing plane models can you come to Melbourne in Australia bye.
how many people have you had the pleasure of listening and the feeling of the 777,no words can discrib how it feels . awesome. GE90S at it's best.
+Josh Roberts Yes, but what does this video have to do with the 777 and GE90 again? I'm actually tired of seeing every airplane ever created being compared with a 777 powered by GE90, that engine is overrated as hell. There are lots of better sounding engines than the GE90.
This video was sped up right?
I'm thinking it's time for a new camera. perhaps a wide angle? The white balance seems to be off a lot and it struggles to find the right setting especially in these lower light situations
Dan you should fly with WOW air they are very good and cheap
I take it to go to Sicilia .... beautifull trip .... 10 days .... Catania ....then Giardini di Naxos then Taormina .....
Yes it is a BA-146, however I have never, ever heard the aircraft referred to as an Avro-100. Avro was merged with a number of other aviation companies to form BA so I get the connection, but I think....Avro is still operating in Canada building fighters, (or they were) so I could only make sense of the 100 being a 146-like aircraft made in Canada, flown by Brussels. In the video you primarily see the left wing and engines 1 and 2, so while the only short range 4 engine, cantilever winged aircraft I had ever heard of was the 146, yet this wasn't called a 146, it must be a similar aircraft but yet different. I have flown on a few 146-200's that Pacific Southwest flow around California and maybe another flown by Continental Express from Houston to New Orleans but it's been 100 years ago. I liked the PSA 200 it was up and out, in a shot, a more vertices takeoff than I was used to. As I mentioned this video shows a much longer roll than expected, certainly longer than what I recall.
the below-wing view is different! The little engines that could.
How many people does this aircraft seat including the crew?
Heather stubbs 95 passengers
i love avro 100
Okay :)
you should do a flight to tegucigalpa
hi dan you great i love all your videos can you do a flight review on tuniair please_
Lucky! I so want to fly on a BAe!!!
There are still many about.
nice
Not exactly STOL were they?
it's not just the sound,it's the pull on it,won't beat it and no I never underrate any engine because it's all technology wich has gone so advanced since the early years, and yes it is the most full efficient engine on the market, and we got a new one wich is 1 better.
Strange little plane. Loud yet not loud.
God. I miss that plane so much :/
I miss 2015 🥺😭
what is that high pitch noise
Why was the takeoff so long? I though Aeros were supposed to be like STOL approved.
+2018paulrobbinx
To safe fuel. If not needed, why run everything on the maximum?
+TheTrucker302 yeah, that is what I figured, but that was a very long takeoff!
+TheTrucker302 Are you saying that they weren't running everything on maximum in order to save ffuel? Also, could you please explain what STOL is? I'm not familiar with that one.
+Heather stubbs STOL short takeoff or landing.
2018paulrobbinx Flaps 1 and flex thrust. Short takeoff would be Flaps 3 and Max thrust
Sound engines vs sound engines JT3D 👍👍👂🏻
I love you
13th June 1997,it doesn't have a problem ?
workhorse :)
Haha, they asked you to turn off the camera :D
The incredible airplane with 5 APUs.
How come 5 APUs?
David Zhang One proper APU at te back of the airplane... and 5 "APUs" on the wings used for thrust. LOL.
Four engines. That's probably the reason why the Bae-146 wasn't a huge success. Higher maintenance costs than the newer CRJ-200 or the Embraer 145 only has two engines.
Hah! My boss used to say that BAE stood for Bring Another Engine 'càuse they were so unreliable! :-)
The airplane at 6:43 is that an Easyjet??
Yes
4 engines where an A320 only needs 2. No contest.
Looks like a baby Ilyushin-76....
le son semblable au JT3C du 707 d iran air
Why do they need four engines? It's a pretty small plane is'n it?
+S⃝e⃝a⃝n⃝H⃝Y⃝S⃝ [][] My guess is they wanted the redundancy of 4 engines, and they are very efficient engines, so it doesn't burn much more than a similar sized two engine aircraft.
Sounds like Boeing 707
That is one very long takeoff roll.i expected a smaller aircraft to take off a little more like a BA-146. I have never seen an Arvo 100 was it made by Avro Canada or Avro UK? I see Bombardier aircraft constantly and if this was Canadian one would think regional contract carriers in the US would also be used. I hated the loss of Sabena a truly great carrier never flown Brussels
It's made by BAe which is a British company also I prefer to call them BAe 146 as that is what they are. I would have thought a shorter takeoff run as well as they fly into sumburgh and out with its small 1500m runway
Mabey due to the long runway they had quite a high derate on the engines for take off!
could have i mean sumburgh is fairly short
Good point, presume it's a BAe 146-100
Hello
11:30 mid air engine start ?
Or just reduced power on engine?
+FlyingMiner on engines 1 or 4 maybe
+Sacha Al-Aref landing gear?
+Irish Aviation It's the flaps retracting, they make that sound being deployed too, it's an awesome sound :)
+Stephen Downes It's part of what makes the BAe 146 so unique. I love it!
Why is such a "small" air craft in needof two engines anyway :O
+Rain Bow *four engines ^^
The one continuous wing is not as good as two separate wings bolted to a centre torsion box.
My favourite aircraft is the A380 747-8 777 787 A350 A340 A330 737 A320
That is a really huge name, who is the manufacturer?
8:00 take off
