    Jacoby Brissett is a perfect bridge quarterback, he'll keep you competitive and is a great teammate, he played pretty good for my browns and became a fan favorite

      People are acting like Brissett didn’t play great ball for browns two years ago knowing he was only the guy until Deshaun could come back. He played solid ball and has experience. But fans will demand to see Maye. Brissett should start unless he really falls off the wagon I’m talking 5 straight losses and getting spanked and booed at home type stuff

    His take that the Pats have to act like Maye could be week 1 starter is BS. Anyone with a brain and ears in Boston assumes Maye will sit for at least half the season and we are fine with that. He is 21 not 24 like Penix who will be on the bench for 2 years.

      @@maddrone7814The Chiefs was a playoff team already without Patrick he didn’t need to start right away. Maye will start week 1 he’ll learn more on the field. CJ stroud was suppose to have a horrible year with that Texas team but he balled out gotta get em on the field

    I'm struggling to understand with why sitting him for the next year to year and a half is such a major issue. This isn't like the Penix case. May isn't ready, and I don't see how playing him right off the bat helps. The hope is. That he's going to be there for 15 years, not 3-5.

    The Patriots have not been used to picking third in the draft for a looong time. So, they decided to take the pick and see what happens. I don't think they expect to compete for the Super Bowl this year, but two or three years from now, is a real possibility. There is time for Mr. Maye to grow, and don't sleep on Joe Milton III, he is a great back up plan.

    New England had one of the best defenses in the league last year so if Maye looks good in camp vs the number 1s then he’ll start! If not the Jacoby will play til Maye is ready 🤷🏽‍♂️

      In fact, based on the draft and FA signings, the Pats didn't tweek the defense much. Only 1 draft pick out of 8 pretty much says it all. Had Belichick still been GM, you could have blindly bet that at least 3 of those picks would have been on D .

    Why did we pick him #3? Because he has the highest ceiling. Why should he sit? Because he's going to the worst situation. Why didn't we trade back? Because we need a QB, and we're not guaranteed one next year with this much talent.

    I really don’t think thry need to make any decision now. If Maye is killing it in training camp, feels confident, and looks like a superstar, then play him. If he doesn’t seem quite ready then let him sit for a while

    You sit for a year. None of these prospects are NFL ready. Learn the building, culture, new coaches, and front office still trying to merge together. OL is still a bit rocky.     Because of the salary cap and rookie contracts in the modern NFL, you don't sit a QB drafted this high for a year. Maybe 6 games in but no later. If he can't get on the field after half this season, you'll have the same issue next season.

    I think you guys act like The Pats Organization worries about the public perception. Drake Maye will play when it's best for the team and him. Playing cause people are gonna criticize you for not playing the #3 pick is stupid.     This team right now looks like 0-17.

      @@verdict4048 Teams do that frequently. Herbert, Mayfield, Tua, and Levis experienced something similar just out of recent qbs. They all started on the bench when they were better than the veteran starter. The Dolphins situation is what they have to avoid. They put Tua in too early and he had to deal with the Fitzpatrick back and forth. What you absolutely MUST avoid is the Zac Wilson situation where you take a guy with talent and break him mentally in his first year. You're just not happy about it.
