Just 3 percent of black Americans polled said they approved of Trump's performance, compared to the president's 36 percent approval overall. But since Trump came along and decided to swap parties, I no longer recognize my party, and I'm ashamed of the party formerly known as the GOP. Although we've had our ups and downs, I hung in there and remained a loyal supporter, but they've gone a step too far and I want nothing to do with them; my integrity and self respect won't allow it. But just because you and I may not see eye to eye on Trump, I will always respect your opinion. The joke I posted here, is just that, a joke, and could just as easily be said about any other group of folks. I think the majority of us are level headed people, just doing our best to get through each day, but there are some who seem to have gone a little bit crazy in their support for, and hatred of, Trump.... those are the people that joke is referring to.
One other thing I want to make clear, because I see it so often and I think we all need to keep it in mind.... Just because I criticize Trump, it doesn't mean I support Hillary, or Obama, or Biden, or anyone else. One being bad, doesn't make the other good. If I make a statement about one person, that's the only thing I'm saying, there's nothing to read between the lines. If I say (for example) that Trump is dumb, don't assume that I'm inferring that Biden is smart. It isn't 'Trump is dumb, therefore Biden is smart'; I might think they're both dumb, both smart, or one dumb and the other smart. I hope I've said that in a way that actually makes sense, and not just a bunch of blabbering and fragmented ideas. It's easier for me to explain myself out loud than in writing. I'm a much better nurse, than I am a writer! 😉 That's for damn sure!

Ok so roughly 10% of African Americans vote republican, it's been that way since around the 1930s but a lot more voted that way until the 1960s where Lyndon ran against Barry Goldwater, who was running against the Civil Rights Act of 1964, attracting the south conservative vote and repelling the African American vote, thankfully Lyndon won. Since then 90% of blacks have voted Democrat, in their own best interest. That other 10% may hold conservative values, but yes it is still staggering that even 1% would support Donald Trump, even the rich African Americans who want tax breaks.
Thankfully he's getting evicted in 2 weeks.

It started with cable news nearly 30 years ago. When there were 3 networks, news was broadcast basically as a public service twice per evening (usually 6pm & 11pm, 5&10 Central). When cable news came around, it became big business and sensationalism sells. A couple of cable networks became obvious politically leaning (FN & MSNBC). I've only heard newscasters from one of those come back with an apology and retraction when something wasn't true/was mistaken that was said. That one pretty much sticks to sensationalism much more than with added lies/distortions/things taken out of context. I've quit watching cable news for the most part. Gave up broadcast TV altogether and only stream/watch discs. I mostly read major newspapers for my news these days.
