The two Sarahs at the end weren't CGI. Linda Hamilton has a twin sister, and so did the checkered-floor guard at the hospital. Those two flipped a coin to determine who'd kill/be killed. "Scariest liquid villain ever!"
Linda Hamilton actually learned to pick a lock with a paperclip for this movie, to make the scene more realistic. Also the scene where she is at the playground watching herself with the young boy. That's actually her twin sister and her nephew...She also suffered permanent hearing loss from the elevator shoot out scene. I also subscribed to your channel because your reactions make me smile.
@@iainmulholland2025 I personally really liked Dark Fate a lot. It had the problem of what was really too effective and unstoppable a villain - realistically there's no way they should have been able to win, or even survive some of the events shown on screen, but hey, it's the movies. You also got to catch up with Sarah after 30 years which was great, and you had a wicked supercharged female heroine too - sorry, can't remember the name of the actress or the name of her character. Anyway she was effin great. DF is a dark friggin movie in the big scheme of things, but also cool - or so I personally thought anyway.
@@lennyvalentin6485Mackenzie Davis. She is excellent in every role I have seen her. She had supporting roles in The Martian and Blade Runner 2049, major roles in Tully and Terminator: Dark Fate. She plays the lead role in Station Eleven, a post apocalyptic TV mini series with a kind of quirky indie feeling that is pretty good. Her best role in my opinion is as the main character in the Black Mirror episode Yorkie. She always brings something special to her character, and always feels very genuine and natural. One of my favourite actresses. She deserves many more major roles.
"No, give it to him, he's only got one arm!" In all the times I've seen this film in the last 30 years, that's the first time I ever heard anyone come up with that idea. Brilliant.
I never thought of this before she said it, but what happened to the arm that the second T-800 lost in the gear? Isn’t that just another piece of future tech left behind to potentially create Skynet?
25:45 Robert Patrick trained himself to not blink when shooting guns, because machines wouldn't blink when shooting guns. He also suppressed his urge to breathe during the scenes where he is running, until James shouted "cut!", because machines would never run out of breath.
I love Miles Dyson’s characterization in this film. Even as he’s dying, he tries to warn the police who shot him that he can’t hold the remote much longer so they have time to get away. It shows he wasn’t a bad man; he did everything with the best of intentions.
That improvised military cap is some professional level tactical adaptation. I think I've seen a soldier wear that ensemble on a bright but cold winter day.
In the playground dream sequence, and, in the steel mill scene, when the T-1000 is imitating Sarah, Sarah is being played by Linda Hamilton, AND, her twin sister, Leslie. The red headed security guard at Pescadero was also played by a pair of twins.
I only just realised...Sarah Connor never once heard the Terminator speak in the original movie. This machine that's haunted her dreams for years, finally speaks, and out comes a rural Austrian accent. She should look more surprised.
Robert Patrick, as the "bad" terminator, was a total badass, I remember seeing an interview with him shortly after this was released, and he was saying how much fun he had filming and being that character, he said the funnest part for him was when he got to kick Arrnie's ass in the fight scene at the end...lol
The problem with the subsequent movies is that they undermine the central theme of the first two movies: there is no fate but what we make. Some of them are fun to watch, but the first two stand alone. If you want more Terminator in your life, the TV show, the Sarah Connor Chronicles, is quite good. Sadly Fox canceled it prematurely (like Firefly), so it ends on a cliffhanger...
@@luxurybuzz3681 Modern Disney ruins everything it touches. I'd rather this franchise be left alone at this point. The story has gone as far as it can go. There are only so many iterations you can do on the Terminator before it becomes stale.
I would actually argue the opposite. Yes, all the characters in the first 2 films talk about how no fate is set, but all the action is being driven because they can't stop what the future holds. They beat the Terminator in the first film and it was precisely that event that started Skynet. In this movie they destroy all the chips, but the knowledge and research was still out there. they can't stop the inevitable. While Fatalism itself is a terrible ideology, it is expertly portrayed in the first 3 films. I think the third one forces the viewer to recognize this and is partially why its not as well liked. I agree that it's not nearly as good as the first 2, but I think the third is worth watching just for that. Also yes, the Sarah Connor Chronicles is pretty great.
@@jenmurrayxo The T-1000 cameo starts at about 1 h 18 min on my copy of Wayne's World. And I won't tell the reactor's union that you skipped most of the movie. You're welcome.
James Cameron used actual twin siblings for scenes where the T1000 imitates its twin victims. The hospital guard who gets stabbed through the eye by T1000 was played by twin brothers Don and Dan Stanton, who you may have seen in Gremlins 2 as the twin lab scientists. When the T1000 imitates false Sarah towards the end, she was played by Linda Hamilton’s sister Leslie Hamilton-Gearren, who passed away in 2020.
The 'Curse of the Sequel' is often because the story is complete, there is no plot for the second one but a re-hash of the first one. This does not suffer from that, it has a new plot with an even scarier villain.
@@blacktronlego What? Hard disagree there. The plot is almost identical. Terminator gets sent back to kill a civilian. Protector gets sent back to protect them. Terminator is killed in an industrial area. Protector dies. Still awesome, but that's because of perfect execution. EDIT: Extended version below by Kevin Rose.
I love the whole "You can't just kill people. Why?" exchange. It makes sense as from the Terminator's point of view there are no consequences to killing people.
Or rather the only consequences are how it might affect the mission. Terminators have no moral code, whether they shoot you or don't shoot you is purely a matter of utility.
I feel that it's a learning moment for both of them. John has never given orders before. For the first time he's got this Terminator following each order he gives. Just like the human soldiers in the future will. He tells him to take care of those guys that came to his rescue and they almost got killed by the Terminator. It was the first time John learned that when given that power, the power to command soldiers/weaponry, you have to use it with a sense of responsibility and maturity. He realized that he almost killed those guys.
It is my belief that Linda Hamilton‘s portrayal of Sarah Connor in this movie was the origin of the now fairly common “strong athletic woman” look. Prior to this movie it was very uncommon for women to lift weights and train in a way that produces this appearance. Now it is quite common.
I remember seeing this for the first time in 1992, I was 6 years old. My parents had just got a VHS player, we tried to rent it from the store in town but there was a 3 month wait for it. When I finally got to see the movie it changed everything for me. I couldn't believe the effects I was seeing, the shotgun reload from Arnold on the bike and of course that ending as he's lowered into the steel... It's genuinely my all time favourite film, I watched it at least once a year and I can safely say it is legitimately one of the greatest films of all time.

The follow up to this, 'Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines' brings the entire 'Terminator Suite' to a dramatic conclusion. Unfortunately, T-3 also culminates at the beginning of 'Judgement Day!'
Nice reaction, and for me the best movie of all time. I saw this movie as a kid when it came out months after my dad passed away. One of his last conversations with me was that he had to go away. Because of his illness he knew he was going to die. When I seen this movie as an 8 year old boy, months after my dad had passed, when the Terminator sacrificed himself and John was saying please don’t go, I broke down crying in the theaters. No matter how long it’s been, every time that scene comes on, I still cry. Incredible acting by a kid in that movie for his first role.
chronologically, after T2 follow the events in the series Terminator: The Chronicles of Sarah Connor. Sarah was played by Lena Hidi(here Google translator stubbornly wrote down whatever came to his mind instead of the actress' name), who later participated in Game of Thrones, and the new Terminator-guardian of John, by Summer Glau.
Hey Jen, the actor who played the T1000 (Robert PAtrick) had to do tons of facial prep to get the physical aspect of the robot demeanor down to a tee. He would practice the cold reactionless stare with friends, family and fellow actors. He would go to gun ranges and practice not to flinch when he fired his weapon or was fired upon. Not flinching when a gun is fired is atually a pretty had facial act to pull off. There was no shortage of physical and mental prep that did not take place to make this movie an absolute classic.
James Cameron is a hard working director and like to see his movies as closely as possible to reality. You should watch “ The Abyss “ 1989 Another great movie by Him is also “ True Lies “. Also with Arnold.👍🏼
@@jenmurrayxo It was after making The Abyss (1989) that James Cameron knew CGI was good enough for what he wanted to do in Terminator 2 (1991). I've seen old interviews where people said both the aforementioned movies influenced the production and special effects in Jurassic Park (1993).
The only reason he made the abyss is to test those CGI and if he could do the T-1000 justice or at all. Cameron or someone said after T1 the studio were going nuts over a sequel, and normally they would have had it ready for theaters by 1987, but the CGI tech wasn't good enough. They waited years, until the tech caught up, and he made the abyss to test out the CGI that's why the creature is water, he was testing how would the liquid metal look as CGI.
This was the first film I saw that made me realise how huge action films can be. The set pieces are amazing. People aren't big on Edward Furlong but I think he's great with Arnie.
I think he did a decent job in Detroit Rock City as well. Just a shame that he basically disappeared himself but I don't think he had the support in real life he needed as a child actor. See Jake Lloyd from Star Wars. Why can't people learn and protect young actors in Hollywood to give them a chance later in life. Same with young athletes - for so many, it all goes to their head and they lose touch with reality.
@@calibre97 Because Hollywood/parents/media want to milk them for all they are worth and they become disjointed from reality. Look at Micheal Jackson and Gary Coleman. The kids with good parents have used the money they earned to get educated and escape.
If you think about, the plot of Terminator 2 sounds a bit like Disney film: A boy misses his dead dad and tries to find his long lost mom, meets a robot who wants to know why people cry. Together they have exiting adventures, mom is found, and robot becomes kind of a father figure to the boy. Finally, before he dies, the robot understands why people cry. Real weepie! You should see tv series Sarah Connor Chronicles, in my book it's worthy sequel to T1 and T2. It's more about mother-son relationship than movies could ever be. John is teenager now, and wants to live "normal" life (while waiting and preparing for the apocalypse). They live life of fugitives because not only terminators but also the FBI is looking for them (for blowing Cyberdyne Systems). Lena Hedey as Sarah is great, rivals Linda Hamilton's performance. Little warning: only 2 seasons were made and whole thing ends with major cliffhanger, and some people found it irritating. I'm of the mixed opinion. Yes, I'd had loved to see season 3. Hell, I'd had killed my own grandmother to get it (but, alas, the bitch was already dead :( ) However, having said that, the ending is, at the same time, my favourite cliffhanger ending ever. You see it and - bang! - you get it: "There it is! The whole mythology! No explonation needed! No more storytelling. That's why John Connor becomes John Connor..."
Great reaction as expected Big props to Linda Hamilton's great acting and physical training. Its incredible how believable Sarah Connor's transformation from slightly naive friendly waitress in the original to buff military commando in T2. Sarah almost became what she feared and hated. A version of a terminator had she killed Miles Bennett Dyson. I think its cool how the scene when you see Sarah go nuts during an interview in the psychiatric hospital being recorded and shown on a tv monitor as its extremely similar to when Kyle Reese is interrogated by police and you see him loose his temper also being recorded and viewed on a tv monitor. It's also very cool that Linda Hamilton's twin sister Leslie is seen looking very much like the Sarah Connor from the original movie in the dream sequence in the playground with a child just before a nuclear explosion. Its crazy how Sarah's skeleton is still holding onto the fense during the blast. So intense. This movie has such great visual effects especially for 1991 The first time I saw cgi effects similar was in 1989 the Abyss which also happens to have actor Michael Biehn aka (Kyle Reese) Jen if you haven't seen the Abyss please consider a reaction to that.
Few points This is the greatest sequel of all time Skynet goes online on 29th August. That's my birthday. I think its cool :) There are twins in this movie. The guard and T-1000 mimicing him are twins and Linda Hamilton and her twin sister are in the dream sequence. This movie is a masterpice of mixing practical and visual effects. In the chase sequence that was a real helicopter flying under that bridge, and T-1000 was molded after the Oscar statue (which is funny because the movie did win an Oscar for visual effects). John Connor's stepmother was played by Jenette Goldstein. She played Vasquez in Aliens. Great reaction.
@@GGGritzer Agree to disagree. Worth noting: Rating one movie over another (whether it be in the same franchise or completely different movies) doesn't mean the "lesser" movie is bad...
@@BPhillips2000, agreeing or not does not erase the goofs. The T1000 had as many as five opportunities to shoot John but went for sfx show offs or action. Arnie's Terminator was never as merciful. Waving his finger at Sarah instead of just shooting her? Not really the way a Terminator should behave. Even how it ended, chucking in the metal refinery to top off the T1000. Obvious. The worst goof in T2 which I will never forgive Cameron for was Dyson using the original Terminator's CPU design to create Skynet. Paradox. Easily avoided. What SHOULD have happened is, Dyson should have eventually have seen the CPU of the original Terminator which was found, then realising he's already seen this design. 'That is the CPU I have been working on', then the realisation his creation was responsible for everything that had happened, '84 & future, war etc.
Great reaction. Was a lot of fun watching you work out which Terminator was good and which bad. One of the give aways for that most seem to miss is when Arnold first appeared, he didn't start killing everyone. Just fighting to defend himself and get what he needed. When the other appeared he immediately kills a cop.
Hey Jen, your fear of the T1000 is well founded. James Cameron knew there was only one Arnold, so he chose to use a sleeker, more athletic male version to suggest that the T1000 is an upgraded version of the Terminator technology. Since the properties of the liquid metal make it denser than the regular metal the Arnold is made of.
15:32 Fun fact, after that scene of removing his flesh, we never see his arm again. It's always covered up by clothes (including gloves), presumably to not draw attention.
I watched this on opening day in september 1991 here in Sweden-which was a few months after the US premiere. The atmosphere in the theater was amazing. People chanting "Arnold! Arnold! Arnold" and the cheer when his name came up on the screen was defening 🙂 I think I had read somewhere that Arnold was the good guy, so I was spoiled. But no problem really. It was a great experience. And I do remember seeing the trailer for another film that became a favourite that evening; City Slickers.
Its funny, I saw this movie in the theater in 1991 & it was already known by everyone going into it that Arnold was the Hero in this 1....Guess it was the trailer that tipped us all off...lol
I saw this movie when I was around 4 or 5 years old in the mid 90’s when it was still extremely popular. Then I experienced the Terminator 2 3D ride at universal around the same time and became downright obsessed with it. I remember the first Christmas gift I ever wanted or asked for was a leather biker’s jacket lol. This movie will forever be very near and dear to my heart
I think this one is better than the first because of the last scene with the Terminator. When he said he understood now why humans cry but it was something he could never do, he was very subtly telling John he wanted to cry, and that he was missing John already. That, and the part where Sarah is talking about T with John, and how T, out of all the would-be step-dads out there, was the one perfect being for John. How she described him was so heartfelt.
Because they were stupid. The Terminator said he was programmed to learn, (except accents apparently), and the point of his model was specifically to infiltrate human hideouts. He would have learned that him about to cease to exist would have been where a human would cry, but they left that feature out at the factory so he couldn't. The Terminator is more akin to that reliable car you used to own and took you everywhere. People form emotional attachments to inanimate objects all the time, especially ones that are useful to them. Look at the way he and John interacted. John treated him like s big toy, and the Terminator was incapable of disobeying him - what kind of relationship is that? Not a real one. You seem to forget, the same model Terminator was trying to kill them the last time they met. This one was set to "protect" instead of "kill" at the factory.
Others have mentioned it in the comments, but I do again because it's such a cool fact: When you see 2 Sarah Connors on screen, it's not special effects, it's Linda Hamilton's twin sister as the second Sarah.
Omg, just today I watched your reaction to The Terminator and was impatient to see you react to the sequel, and now it pops up in my feed! Added 48 minutes ago! That's what I call fast 😂
1. Linda Hamilton must have been working out with Ah-nold to get ripped like that 😍🥰 2. John's childhood friend looks like the same kid that played Tom Hanks' younger self in BIG.😎 3. Arnold did many of his own stunts in this movie, including riding the motor cycle. At one point he was injured and they had to stop production for a couple of weeks so he could recover 4. What got me with the shotgun action is Arnold did it left handed😲
For '91 the effects were unreal, and they still hold up. Not to mention literally flying a helicopter under an underpass. The story was also better. So yeah, by far the best Terminator.
Ya know what’s funny? I’m a third generation electrical engineer…when the first terminator film came out, my dad was an engineer for Kiddie Fenwal in Massachusetts. In March of ‘84, my father single-handedly developed & invented the Carbon Monoxide detector…initially, Kiddie Fenwal wasn’t interested & he was assigned to work on _Halon Fire Suppression Systems_ (the practical application for the Halon Fire Suppression Systems for what he was doing, was for Jet aircraft landing gear which is known to catch fire while landing…and anyone who knows anything about a tire fire knows it’s not easily extinguished… but with the Halon System, there need to be an enclosed area, and the Halon Gas at 5% will kill fire, but at something like 8% will kill anything which breathes… and I remember my close family friend who was 13 years-old at the time, (I was almost 6 years-old) took me to see this movie in the theatre, and my mind was blown completely!!
Jen, I hope you react to "Terminator 3." While many think it doesn't stand up, I find that it completes the story. It tells us what happens to John. I for one enjoy this one almost as much as the second in the series. I very much enjoyed your reaction to this movie, especially when you realised there was a plot twist. An interesting point is that Linda Hamilton's twin, Leslie, appears in a couple scenes instead of using CGI. Leslie passed away in 2020.
Terminator 3 isn’t as good as Terminator 1 and 2 because James didn’t direct and they had to recast John for an older different actor. I do wish that T3 asked the question how did Miles Dyson’s death affect his son Danny. Was he told the truth as to why his father died? Did he grow up to continue his father’s work or not? Unfortunately T3 didn’t answer that question so we will never know.
Fun facts 1) In the opening scene, Arnold was wearing neon blue/green beach shorts that made the extras laugh when they saw him. 2) Linda Hamilton had a twin sister that mimicked her in several scenes. 3)Edward Furlong was scouted and hired because of his look. He never acted before this movie. 4) The stepmom is the same actress that played Vasquez in Aliens.
Heck, my mind was blown away as an adult. 30 years later and very few film can match the creatvity of the liquid metal in T2. Although, Terminator Dark Fate takes it to a whole new level. Stan Winston studios is so amazing with his creature builds and practical effects work on T1, T2, Predator, Iron Man (they designed the Iron Man suit)
The best sci-fi action film ever. A game changer in tweaking the original's formula to make Arnold a good Terminator vs. Robert Patrick's cooly evil bad one is a stroke of genius that is James Cameron and Linda Harrison's transformation in every manner of Sarah Conner is beyond jaw-droppingly awesome. Great job Jen.
This is one of the few movies I saw in the cinema where I turned right around at the end and bought another ticket and saw it again. It was so impressive and a leap forward in a lot of film-making ways back then. Truly peak James Cameron moment.
A couple of cool/interesting fact about Robert Patrick(T1000). He was actually a sprinter in college so that was really him chasing John on the dirt bike. He actually caught up to the dirt bike in one take so the had to do it again with him not pushing as hard. Also he practiced firing a weapon without blinking so it would be more realistic that a Terminator would not have to blink when shooting.
You’re awesome Jen! Your reactions are perfect Haha!I love the part when Arnold says ‘come with me if you want to live’ because it ties back to Terminator 1 when Kyle Reese says the very same line to Sarah when he first finds her. So glad you’re having fun and success with you channel! Keep it up, hope all is well 👍
I rewatched this film when they re-released it in 3D a few years ago and it was still incredible 30 years on. It’s still perfect. The effects were ahead of their time and the pacing and action amazing.
the best action movie ever made. Everything fits together... CGI,actors, atmosphere, story, music...everything. I saw the trailer back then and it totally blew my mind. Unfortunately, I was too young to see the film in the cinema. But at that time there were people who even went to the cinema 3 or 4 times to watch the film over and over again. I've seen the film at least 30 times, but it never gets boring. The movie is a masterpiece!!! Although James Cameron has made other great films, Terminator 1 and 2 will always be the best for me!!! Love this film !The film has such good CGI that still work well today and make some modern films look old!
jenn fun fact the trminator from this movie was named 1 of the top 10 heros in movie history , while the 1 from the 1st terminator was named 1 of the top 10 villians in movie history
I love seeing first time reactions to this because I get to see the response to the twist where Arnold is a good guy. At the time this movie came out the trailers, tv spots and soundtrack videos on MTV all spoiled the twist before the movie was released, so we all went in knowing Arnold wasn't trying to kill John. The movie clearly intended that misdirection and the studios ruined it. What I like best about James Cameron is that he makes sequels that progress stories rather than rehashing them. So often a sequel simply redoes all the popular moments from the first movie. T2 and Aliens each take their story into a new chapter that follows from the first movie but has a new identity all its own.
For me it shows the Terminator's newly acquired sense of emotion. He really does understand why humans cry now. He knows that there's no practical reason for a thumbs up that benefits him personally, but John needs it as a "everything is going to be okay". He does it for no reason other than somebody emotionally benefitted from it. It shows how quickly those machines can learn right from wrong when enabled to do so. It makes me pity the Terminators. They are manufactured killing machines (literally). Like zombies with no control. Skynet creates them with vast intellectual capability but has their processor set to not learn.
Not sure if you did this before you started this reaction channel, but it's obvious you have quite the cosplayer in you! 😁😊 Nice reactions and outfits to accompany whichever movie your reacting to. Thank you ~
Man... this was one of the most anticipated reactions, Jen! Your excitement going in, was contagious! And I had a such a blast watching you react to all the things I loved about this movie. Thank you for validating my feelings lol. Your reaction to Arnold being the protector, was the best lol. You and John being like "Timeout! I'm glad you loved Arnie so much ..."I order you not to go!" still kills me. Your thoughts on the T1000 (the villain) are mine exactly: he's fast, strong, agile, he's a tactician, he can can heal almost immediately, and he seems to enjoy kiIling. I first watched T2 when I was a kid, and even now, some of the T1000's kills still creep me out to this day lol. This movie just gets better, the more I watch it. In my head canon, Sarah and John went on to live normal, happy lives lol. I actually saw T2 first, and didn't realise there was a "Terminator 1" until I was an adult lol. I was astonished to see Arnie doing unspeakable things in the first one lol. Glad he's on our side now. Thanks for giving us this awesome content, Jen! You rock!
Nice Sarah Conner Cosplay. There are so many parallels between the Alien & Terminator franchises, yet they are both so very different. 1) Both first sci fi movies are suspense horror, both second movies are action. In both cases, it's fine to skip the movies after 2. 2) Many of the same actors in both franchises. 3) Ellen Ripley & Sarah Conner - both Bad-Asses suffering from PTSD, yet both completely different characters.
I've been waiting for this one 👍. This is one of the most iconic films of all time, and my first "grown up" movie my dad took me to. And it just so happens I get done with work just in time for the premiere.... this will be the first thing I do 😁

Arnold's Terminator was on AFI's 50 Greatest Movie Villains list for the first movie. He was on their 50 Greatest Movie Heroes list for the same role in this movie. He is the only actor and character on both lists.
I watched this on my big screen tv. I really enjoyed your reaction and commentary. I agree also I liked Arnold's Terminator in this one more. There was great chemistry between him and the boy. Linda Hamilton also was fantastic. I'm looking forward to the next reactions. Take care and be well, See you next time.
Great reaction, Jen! I knew you'd like this one even more than the first. ... but I thought the Worst award might've gone to the face-licker from the hospital. The T-1000 was a very, very cool villain, though. There was a music video for the Guns n Roses song "You Could Be Mine", which appears on the soundtrack (and on one of their albums). Arnold was in the video, in character as the Terminator. The movie always brings that song to mind. It got a lot of airplay at the time on the radio and on an ancient fossil called MTV. The video is on RUclips if you're interested.
Okay, Gotta say it- I'm not saying 'Lickerman' was nice, he obviously wasn't. But he did not lick Sarah to be some kind of creepy perv. He did it to verify her catatonia. Sarah was thankfully strong enough to stay in character, but you have to admit, it's a good way to get someone to react!
That scene in this movie where it looks like a Helicopter if flying under a bridge, that was in fact, a real Helicopter flying under a real bridge. The camera crew were actually afraid to film it. Cameron had faith in his pilot, so he hopped on the camera himself, just him and the driver, and filmed the scene. When the T-1000 was chasing John's bike out of the mall, Robert Patrick actually caught the bike on the first few takes. Cameron commented that they couldn't use those takes, the world just ended. They finally had to give the bike more of a head start.
This has to be my favorite reaction to T2 ever. Loved how you were surprised by Arnie being the good guy. Sidenote: I would give a special MVP to Miles Dyson.
I also agree with the others. These 2 stand on their own. The sequels are something else entirely. (I wouldnt recommend them myself. But thats just me.)

Brilliant.
Lolll thanks!
🤣 🤣
Unfortunately its another right arm
I never thought of this before she said it, but what happened to the arm that the second T-800 lost in the gear? Isn’t that just another piece of future tech left behind to potentially create Skynet?
@@matthewganong1730 ahahah true. his arm still jammed in the gears somewhere.
Robert Patrick was so incredibly good as the T-1000 in this! He is such an intense actor.
21:18 Frickin' liquid, gooey bastard! 😂😂😂 Wonderful upload - so much fun, you're awesome. ♥
To be fair, I say the same things to my choc-coconut brownies when they don't work out.
This is a rare case of of a sequel actually being BETTER than the first movie. Considering just how good the first one was, that's saying a LOT.
Absolutely. This and Empire Strikes Back meet that criteria, with fans and critics alike.
25:45 Robert Patrick trained himself to not blink when shooting guns, because machines wouldn't blink when shooting guns. He also suppressed his urge to breathe during the scenes where he is running, until James shouted "cut!", because machines would never run out of breath.
Linda Hamilton is so strong and beautyful in this movie.
An extraordinary acting performance.
"Come with me, if you want to live"... was the first thing Kyle said to her in the first movie when he rescued her in Tech Noir.
I love Miles Dyson’s characterization in this film. Even as he’s dying, he tries to warn the police who shot him that he can’t hold the remote much longer so they have time to get away. It shows he wasn’t a bad man; he did everything with the best of intentions.
Joe Morton was PHENOMENAL as Dyson. His acting during his death was absolutely amazing.
That improvised military cap is some professional level tactical adaptation. I think I've seen a soldier wear that ensemble on a bright but cold winter day.
🤓👍
In the playground dream sequence, and, in the steel mill scene, when the T-1000 is imitating Sarah, Sarah is being played by Linda Hamilton, AND, her twin sister, Leslie. The red headed security guard at Pescadero was also played by a pair of twins.
It's interesting as the good Arnie Terminator becomes more human, Sarah is turning into a terminator, becoming less human
That's exactly how I described the terminator franchise, "Adorable"
Jen Murray: "Liquid gooey bastard". Best quote ever.
That’s what Sarah Connor should’ve called him in the movie.
I only just realised...Sarah Connor never once heard the Terminator speak in the original movie. This machine that's haunted her dreams for years, finally speaks, and out comes a rural Austrian accent. She should look more surprised.
Well, she talked to it while it imitated the voice of her mother... :P
arnolds dialogue is dubbed in gelrman and austrian versions because his accent is apparently very hillbilly/redneck in those countries
this is in my toe 5 movies ever it's always a treat seeing someone experience this for the first time love your reaction
Maybe we can start a petition to Disney to get it revived
@@luxurybuzz3681 Modern Disney ruins everything it touches. I'd rather this franchise be left alone at this point. The story has gone as far as it can go. There are only so many iterations you can do on the Terminator before it becomes stale.
i like salvation because it's so weird. the rest of the sequels, no thanks, junk movies.
@@asdfasdf7199 I like salvation because it finally shows us the future war
Not to be missed!!! The T-1000 (Robert Patrick) did a cameo (as the T-1000) in "Wayne's World".
Oh I want to see that 👍
@@jenmurrayxo The T-1000 cameo starts at about 1 h 18 min on my copy of Wayne's World. And I won't tell the reactor's union that you skipped most of the movie. You're welcome.
"Liquid gooey bastard"...that made me laugh! 😂
One of those rare franchises where the original is a classic but the sequel is even better.
That's the James Cameron effect!
Well.. there are a few
Aliens, lethal weapon, skrek, dark kriget, bourne, scilence of the lambs, star wars, god bad and the ugly
Arguably
"liquid gooey bastard" ha ha I like it"
I love the whole "You can't just kill people.
Jen your surprise was so cool.
Jen, you make me crease up with your funny great commentary ❤
Must have blown your mind as a kid! 🤯

Probably the greatest action movie ever made.
I'm so sorry for your loss. That must've been so hard to handle as a child 😥
chronologically, after T2 follow the events in the series Terminator: The Chronicles of Sarah Connor. Sarah was played by Lena Hidi(here Google translator stubbornly wrote down whatever came to his mind instead of the actress' name), who later participated in Game of Thrones, and the new Terminator-guardian of John, by Summer Glau.
You shouldn't say Summer Glau is the Terminator, kinda like spoiling Arnie in T2.
He was great in Wayne's World. Lol
One of the greatest movie quotes ever.
'I cannot self-terminate. You must lower me into ze steel'.
James Cameron is a hard working director and like to see his movies as closely as possible to reality. You should watch “ The Abyss “ 1989
Another great movie by Him is also “ True Lies “. Also with Arnold.👍🏼
Oh really want to see both of those! ☺👍
Also Aliens, the sequel to Alien.
He directed True Lies as well
This was the first film I saw that made me realise how huge action films can be. The set pieces are amazing. People aren't big on Edward Furlong but I think he's great with Arnie.
Edward was perfect, IMO.
For a 15 year old kid his performance was amazing.
Great reaction as expected
Big props to Linda Hamilton's great acting and physical training.
Its incredible how believable Sarah Connor's transformation from slightly naive friendly waitress in the original to buff military commando in T2.
Sarah almost became what she feared and hated. A version of a terminator had she killed
Miles Bennett Dyson.
So intense. This movie has such great visual effects especially for 1991
The first time I saw cgi effects similar was in 1989 the Abyss which also happens to have actor Michael Biehn aka (Kyle Reese)

Sarah stalking across Dysons lawn toward his house is underscored with a version of the Terminator march.

Skynet goes online on 29th August. That's my birthday. I think its cool :)
There are twins in this movie.

Yet I still think the first eclipses all the sequels...............
@@GGGritzer Ok.
I never in my life thought I would hear the phrase "Can he put his flesh hand back on now?"
🤣
Hey Jen, your fear of the T1000 is well founded. James Cameron knew there was only one Arnold, so he chose to use a sleeker, more athletic male version to suggest that the T1000 is an upgraded version of the Terminator technology. Since the properties of the liquid metal make it denser than the regular metal the Arnold is made of.
Definitely one of the top action films. Robert Patrick really sold the menace of the T1000.
Must've been awesome to see in theaters! 😎👍

FUN FACT: In 2003, the American Film Institute listed the Terminator as one of the greatest villains AND one of the greatest heroes in movie history.
Love that!! 👍
Oh cool. I knew the guards were twins but not this. Thanks
Omg, just today I watched your reaction to The Terminator and was impatient to see you react to the sequel, and now it pops up in my feed! Added 48 minutes ago! That's what I call fast 😂
1. Linda Hamilton must have been working out with Ah-nold to get ripped like that 😍🥰
2. John's childhood friend looks like the same kid that played Tom Hanks' younger self in BIG.😎
3. Arnold did many of his own stunts in this movie, including riding the motor cycle. At one point he
was injured and they had to stop production for a couple of weeks so he could recover
4. What got me with the shotgun action is Arnold did it left handed😲
For '91 the effects were unreal, and they still hold up. Not to mention literally flying a helicopter under an underpass. The story was also better. So yeah, by far the best Terminator.
That helicopter pilot was a BADASS. Dude likely set the standard for stunt pilots from then on!

I agree. Definitely not as good as the first two, but not a bad wrap-up of the story.
Yeah. T3 is not as good as the first two, but its still way better than what came later.

You’re awesome Jen! jenn fun fact the trminator from this movie was named 1 of the top 10 heros in movie history , while the 1 from the 1st terminator was named 1 of the top 10 villians in movie history
I really love your reactions to classic movies
I don't know why but the "thumbs up" as he being lowered into the steel always gets me. Awesome movie, right? 😭
😢👍👍👍
For me it shows the Terminator's newly acquired sense of emotion. He really does understand why humans cry now. He knows that there's no practical reason for a thumbs up that benefits him personally, but John needs it as a "everything is going to be okay". He does it for no reason other than somebody emotionally benefitted from it. It shows how quickly those machines can learn right from wrong when enabled to do so. It makes me pity the Terminators. They are manufactured killing machines (literally). Like zombies with no control. Skynet creates them with vast intellectual capability but has their processor set to not learn.

And it just so happens I get done with work just in time for the premiere.... this will be the first thing I do 😁
Amazing! See you then! 😎👍
one of the best action movies ever made. period.
Great reaction once again Jen 👍😁
If you liked Edward Furlong you could see his most famous role as the younger brother in American History X. Just be aware that it is a tough watch.
Thanks M! ☺👍
@@jenmurrayxo And CSI NY as Shane Casey :)
Arnold's Terminator was on AFI's 50 Greatest Movie Villains list for the first movie. He was on their 50 Greatest Movie Heroes list for the same role in this movie. He is the only actor and character on both lists.
I'm a fan of your Ahnold impressions. So entertaining!
Loll thanks 😆
Jen, Arnold said in an interview one time that he would only reprise his role as the Terminator if he was the good guy.😊
Fun fact: Robert Patrick, thecT-1000, caught Edward Furlong in the first take. He ran that fast.
You should have watched the Directors Cut though. Lol.
No sorry there are other ways to professionally check a patient's status & licking them is not at all appropriate
Thanks Snap! Face licker was The Worst too, good call 👍I'm gonna do a big Awards at the end of year so he'll be on my Overlooked Worst Award list 👌
@@jenmurrayxo Oh, I wasn't saying it was appropriate! It's absolute not! Just potentially very effective.
Hi! Excited to watch this. You're a pleasure to share things with. T2 's a blast. See you in a little while. :)
Thanks Robert! I had SO much fun watching this one!! 😎👍
This has to be my favorite reaction to T2 ever. Loved how you were surprised by Arnie being the good guy. Sidenote: I would give a special MVP to Miles Dyson.
Thanks! I agree, Dyson really saved the day 👍
I also agree with the others. These 2 stand on their own. The sequels are something else entirely. (I wouldnt recommend them myself. But thats just me.)
Can't wait for more Arnold movies! 😎👍
Def doing more! 👍
@@jenmurrayxo Arnold action greats in no particular order:
Conan the Barbarian
Conan the Destroyer
Predator
Commando
Total Recall
True Lies (also James Cameron)
Don't know if this was mentioned yet, but the foster mom(Janelle), was played by Jenette Goldstein, who also played Vasquez in Aliens. She is an amazing actress, as I didn't know that at the time of watching this movie the first time.
