Nice video bro 👌, me i'm on 1.9 16v Astra H, one time i had a issue with the temp sensor, the wires was exposed and was touching each other. That gave me a fault code, i isolate the wires and clear the code.
I did this job a couple of years ago and it drove me nuts. I had a tutorial but still it was very annoying and despite being very careful I broke my brandnew thermostat housing (was around 70€) and I had to get a new one. I was so mad that I immediately closed the bonnet and called it a day. Very tedious job.
Thanks Bruno for showing changing the thermostat. I did this work last spring at my 8V JTD, 77kw, and was really frustrated afterwards, because I did all that work due to gauge showed max. temp of about 75-80°C, but there is no change now. I have used a BEHR thermostat. Any idea?
I just changed 2 thermostats and still the water temp goes down to 73-75 degrees when I turn the heater blower on. If I drive it normally without turning on the heat, the temp will rise to 87-88 degrees max. I checked the big coolant hose with my hand while the engine is warming and it only gets hotter after it reaches 87 degrees so it means that the thermostat is opening correctly. Is the coolant temp drop normal for this engine?
Oh man, I just had a huge coolant leak on my 2.2 JTS. I can't drive the car untill it is fixed. :( I am not able too see exactly, but it looks like it is leaking on 12600832 housing.
It was the water pump that had leaked. It is timing chain driven, so they say that they need to remove the chain in order to replace the pump. And they don't have the special tools for doing the timing, so they have ordered it. It means that they have never done this on this engine, and they will be learning it on mine. :( The original pump lasted almost 188.000 km.
@DashCamSerbia no tools are required for timing. And it is possible to replace the pump without messing with the timing. That is an American GM engine, there are tons of videos for all of that
@@alfaromeonoproblem I know it uses a GM L61 block. I don't know, maybe it is not possible to remove the pump, because the chain is in the way. You did the chain replacement on this engine? Maybe the Alfa Romeo official instructions say that you need to remove the chain. I don't know what to do. :( I hate when someone is messing with my car. But they are the official dealers, and I can't just call them and tell then that they are doing it wrong. :/
Great job bruno!
Thank you very much for watching

Did you reuse the old temperature sensor?
Hello. Thanks for watching. Can be a number of things. What car is it?
@@alfaromeonoproblem it’s a 156 JTD, 77kw, from 2000.
@@DashCamSerbia No, there was a new sensor included with the thermostat.
Then It could be the gauge in the cockpit that is out of tune.

@@alfaromeonoproblem I can't. I have to get it towed to the dealer for them to fix it. :/
