How to change timing kit, MultiJet and JTD 16V and 20V engines. How to check sync. between cams

  • Hello guys! Here is my way of replacing, adjusting and checking timing on these engines. This video will cover the 1.6 16V MJet, 1.9 16v MJet or JTD, 2.0 Mjet 16V and even the 2.4 20V Mjet or JTD engine.
This makes my list of timing belt and chain videos, which is here a little further down in the description, much more complete.
It's an easy timing to do, in fact, but it's also easy for it to be poorly synchronized and out of place. So, if one cam is out, both are out!

very often when we have one tooth misalignment there is only one problem with though cold start and p0340. No more symptoms. I used to possess ar 147 with 1.9 16v jtd cf3 engine, and my mechanic changed timing belt system without using blocking tools ( they just made white dots) and every singe winter there was a problem with p0340 error and heavy cold start. Every single mechanic is maintaining that engine should not generate full power or smoking more than usual. It is not true. Remember always use block tools. Now i posses 159 with 8v engine.
I am watching your channel since you've started recording. thx.

    Dear Bruno
Thank you so much for this video which clearly illustrates your extensive knowledge and experience!
I have just changed my cambelt and auxiliary belt thanks to you on my 2016 Giulietta 2.0 JTDM 170BHP UK spec.
I also changed the waterpump as recommended
I would like to change and flush the antifreeze/coolant but I cannot see any drain plug at the bottom of the radiator?
I presume that I need to cut off the "one use" hoseclip on the bottom hose with a dremel tool (its difficult to access)
and then drain and refit hose with conventional hoseclip. Maybe not difficult but it is with poor access.
Please do you have any better suggestions?

Maybe also use the „Shorts“ to give 60 second help. Maybe trie to work together with other RUclipsrs!

General search words do not work. But I know the specific ones do.
